Evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders in pianists

Title: Evaluation of musculoskeletal disorders in pianists Background: Musculoskeletal (MS) disorders are common in pianists. Allsop and Ackland (2010) in their study describe that pianists suffer from MS disorders in 42 %. However, the prevalence of MS disorders differs depending on the region. There has not been done yet any evaluation of prevalence of MS disorders in pianists in Czech republic. This evaluation is crutial to make a comparison of our national results internationally. Furthermore, it is required to establish well-prepared preventional program for starting pianists. Aims: The purpose of this study is to evaluate prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in pianists. Methods: Our data were collected using questionnaire survey. We distributed questionnaires among czech profesional pianists, piano teachers, and piano students by emails who were older than 18. Results: We sent 390 questionnaires by emails and received 78 of them completed. We revealed that the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of all respondents was 72 %. The prevalence was the highest in the group of the age from 18 to 60 reaching 90 %. The most common locality of musculoskeletal disorder was in the forearm. Aim: Main aim of my diploma thesis is to present an up to date review on the topic of postoperative physiotherapy in short-term and long-term phase after lumbar surgery and to find out how recommendations about postoperative physiotherapy are created. Methods: A systematic review on the topic. Results: The review answers the questions about physiotherapy after lumbar surgery in short-term and long-term phase and shows current trends and unique approaches in this study area. It consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part covers basic anatomy and neurology, the characteristics, clinical picture, diagnosis, and treatment. The practical part is a case report of a patient with peripheral facial palsy. The case report includes the clinical examination, treatment, progress, and outcome. The thesis was written based on a practical training in Regional Hospital Kladno from Jan 4 - 29, 2016. Comparison of selected parameters of function and shape of the foot in volleyball and beach volleyball women players

Title Comparison of selected parameters of function and shape of the foot in volleyball and beach volleyball women players Objectives The goal of this thesis is to find out if there are differences in chosen parameters for competitively playing volleyball and beach volleyball women players. Compare the influence of the sports footwear and hard surface court on the shape and function of the foot with the bare foot on the sand in technically similar sports. Methods The research involved 10 women playing volleyball and 10 women playing beach volleyball. All the players were 19 - 34 years old and all were regularly playing at competitive level. Selected monitored parameters were the quality of perception of sensation in the foot, foot arch shape evaluated by using plantogram and examination postural stability by using the Véle test. The test results were evaluated in both sports separately and then compared with each other. Results The results of this thesis show better readings in all investigated tests in both lower limbs at beach volleyball women players. Only in the case of the shape of the foot arch test on the left foot was the result statistically significant. The Evaluation of Managers and Employees Awareness of the Ergonomics in Office Environment

Title: The Evaluation of Managers and Employees' Awareness of the Ergonomics in Office Environment Objectives: The aim of the thesis was a quantitative research to assess the awareness of ergonomics, working environment, office equipment, motor behavior and the appearance of professionally conditioned diseases among office workers, recruiters and management of companies in the Czech Republic. In conclusion outlined recommendations to improve the situation. Methods: The thesis using electronic polling using non-standardized questionnaire, which provides primary data collection. The method is used to analyze the awareness of ergonomic environments, motor behavior in the workplace, the occurrence professionally conditioned diseases and office equipment. The questionnaire was distributed to companies throughout the Czech Republic, a total of 678 employees were contacted, data was compiled from 442 respondents with an average age of 32,6 years. For data analysis was used software Microsoft ® Excel for Mac version 15.20. Results: It was found that ergonomics training and OSH passed only 25% of employees of Czech companies in the research sample. Elaboration case of a patient with osteoarthritis and the evaluation of the effect of the therapeutic methods. Methods: The theoretical part is concerning the osteoarthritis, its possible causes, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnosis criteria and possible therapeutic approaches. In the special part of this work is presented to the patient case report, the progress of applied therapies and the final effect of therapy. Title: Case study of physical therapy treatment of a patient after ichemic stroke with left hemiparesis Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to analyze theoretical knowledge about stroke and the development of case study of a patient after ischemic stroke with left hemiparesis. Summary: This bachelor thesis deals with stroke and consists of two parts. The general part contains theoretical knowledge about definition of stroke, anatomy of the blood supply of the brain, classification, etiology, clinical symptoms and treatment methods of stroke. The conclussion of first part describes possible methods of physical therapy used for patients after stroke. The special part contains a case study of physical therapy care of a patient after ischemic stroke with left hemiparesis including complete kinesiology analysis, course of treatment and final evaluation. Data for processing the special part were obtained during the clinical practise at rehabilitation department of Královské Vinohrady hospital under supervision of Mgr. Title: Case study of the physiotherapy treatment of a patient after stroke with right hemiparesis. Aims: The aim of this thesis was to gain theoretical knowledge about stroke and the development of case study of a patient after ischemic stroke with right hemiparesis. Summary: This bachelor thesis deals with the stroke. The thesis consists of two parts. In the general section is described the definition of stroke, anatomy of the blood supply of the brain, epidemiology, classification, risk factors of stroke. The following chapters solve directly the ischemic stroke, its pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and treatment. The conclusion of this part is devoted to comprehensive rehabilitative care for patients after stroke, including a description of appropriate physiotherapy techniques. The special part is about a case study of the physiotherapy care of the patient after stroke with right hemiparesis. This part contains a complete kinesiology analysis, course of treatment and final evaluation. Data for processing the special part were obtained in the term 15.1. - 5. 2. 2016 during the clinical practise in Vršovická zdravotní, a.s. Summary: The main purpose of thesis is summary of teoretical findings about lower limb amputacion and processing of case study of the pacient with the hip disarticulation. The general part includes facts from anatomy, kineziology, amputations and prosthetics of lower limb. It pointes to great psychological, social and economical impact which should be dealt with. The special part consists of case history, inicial examination, short-term and long-term physiotherapy care about pacient after hip disarticulation. The therapeutic exercises are described in detail. Final inspection is compared with the result of the inicial examination and in the end of the thesis is evaluated the therapeutic effect. Title: Physiotherapy case study of a patient with subarachnoid stroke Objectives: The objective of this case study is to obtain and process with theoretical findings about anatomy, etiology and clasification of subarachnoid stroke, also the usage of diagnostic and therapeutic methods. The objective of a special part is elaboration of patient's casuistry with such a disease in connection with therapy proposal and its practical implementation. Methods: This Bachelor thesis consists of 2 parts - general and special one. The general one contains teoretical knowledge about stroke which includes anatomy, etiology, clasification of stroke, risk factors with prevention, clinical symptoms, diagnosis and phisiotherapeutical approach. The special part of this thesis is dedicated to casuistry of physiotherapeutical care of patient with stroke diagnosis. It contains of kineziological examination, short-term and long-term targets, therapy and the final physical examination. The conclusion of the special part describes the effect of the therapy carried out. This part has been compiled during my continuous professional working experience during 9th January until 3rd February 2017 at ÚVN in Prague.
