Terminal Asset Value of the Prague Stock Exchange

Neumann Pavel Abstract This thesis draws parallel between depositors facing a bank run and investors facing a stock price crash in order to determine a formula for debt ratio that would trigger mass sale of stocks for particular company. To reach terminal debt ratio formula, this thesis firstly discusses a topic of financial crises from stock market and banking perspective. Next, it compares regulation for both institutions on Czech national and EU level. Then, this thesis derives a formula for calculation of terminal debt ratio based on game theory and pricing of the options approach. Lastly, it tests limits of terminal debt ratio framework on companies listed on Prague Stock Exchange and concludes that terminal debt ratio framework is best applicable on non-financial companies that experienced moderate growth in stock price over the examined period.

The impact of CAP on czech agricultural system

The diploma thesis looks into the impact of the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU on agrarian sector of Czech Republic. The target of this diploma thesis is to determine wheter the accession within the EU and application of the CAP policies has had positive or negative influences on Czech agriculture. The first chapter, explains the craetion, targets and principles of the CAP. Next, discusses reforms and changes that influences Czech Republic, and describes how is the system financed thorought history. The chapter that follows, is about Czech agriculture sector. It's analyses it's development after 1989 and the agricultural policy before and after EU accession. The final and last chapter shows tangible financial payments from EU to the Czech Republic. Business Groups in Japan: Characteristics and Management

This thesis characterises organizational structure of business groups in Japan in the 21st and 22nd century. Research is conducted on the basis of organizational theory, which is introduced in the first chapter. Typical organizational structures prevalent in Japan during the period in question, principally keiretsu and zaibatsu are emphasised. Author consequently analyses Toyota business group, which is commonly described by the pundits as vertical keiretsu belonging at the same time to different horizontal keiretsu groups. The relevance of keiretsu in the new millennium is discussed in the conclusion of the diploma thesis.
Effect of the Federal Reserve's actions on the U.S. economy between 1987 and 2016 through a prism of the Austrian School of Economics

This thesis aims at discovering whether actions of the Federal Reserve System have a negative impact on the U.S. economy. The first chapter considers theoretical economic impacts of central banking through a prism of the Austrian School of Economics. This chapter aims at finding out whether central banking is compatible with a sustainable economic growth and whether business cycles are not caused by interest rate manipulation by central banks. The purpose of the second chapter is to assess the influence of the Fed on the American economy between 1987 and 2016 and compare impacts of actions of the Fed on different social classes.
Standard of living in the Czech Republic in comparison with its neighbouring countries

The aim of this thesis is to assess the standard of living in the Czech Republic and compare it to Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland. The countries are compared based on following indicators of standard of living: gross domestic product in purchasing power parity per capita, gross national income in purchasing power parity per capita, Human Development Index, Inequality adjusted Human Development Index, Lorenz Curve and Gini coefficient all studied in the year 2015 with the development from 1990 to 2015 considered. In the theoretical part of this thesis, the problem of defining and measuring standard of living is analysed in detail and the applied indicators of standard of living are briefly explained. The thesis analyses the standard of living of given countries based on previously said indicators, it also briefly researches the approach of governments of those countries and their historical and cultural conditions, which are crucial for the standard of living. Finally, the standard of living of the countries is compared and evaluated. Set hypothesis is that the critical view of Czechs on the standard of living in the Czech Republic is not justified. Therefore, the state and the development of satisfaction of the Czechs through the reference period is included as well.
Abenomics and its impact on japanese economy

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the impact of the so called abenomics reforms on the japanese economy and to assess its success and effectivity. It will consist of three main chapters. First chapter will describe how the japanese economy developed and what has caused its current state. Second chapter will explain how so called three arrows of abenomics work. Last chapter will analyse how successful these reforms were in meeting their goals and will try to estimate the future development of the japanese economy.

This thesis is devoted to the description of the German economy throughout recent decades including the unification and introduction of the euro. The thesis enumerates the basic features of the German economic model and identifies the main policy failures, as well as successes of its government. An important part of this thesis concerns the consequences of the introduction of euro and the subsequent increase in the competitiveness of the German economy at the expense of the other Eurozone members. The main part of this thesis investigates the economic sustainability of the German economic model in the context of the current European refugee crisis. This thesis focuses mainly on the challenges and opportunities brought by the changing global environment and it examines the changing population trends in Germany and the possible scenarios immigrants can cause. It finds opportunities of how the German economic model could be changed towards the better sustainability.

Master's thesis analyses investment from the People's Republic of China to Europe and seeks to understand what motivates Chinese investors and what impacts does Chinese investment have regionally, as well as on individual European countries. The primary objective of the thesis is to provide comprehensive basis for further analysis of Chinese OFDI in Europe and to evaluate the impacts of Chinese investment activity on the European market.
