Family influence on the consumption of sugary drinks by preschoolers
Moravcová, Marie ; Starnovská, Tamara (advisor) ; Dusílková, Nina Borisovna (referee)
This work focus on the influence of the family on the consumption of sweetened beverages in preschool children. Due to the increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity in the population, it is necessary to find new ways to actively prevent this trend. The theoretical part of the thesis focus on the causes and effects of overweight and obesity. It analyzes uncontrollable influences, such as genetics, or racial and ethnic differences. Also influences that can be influenced, where we can include, socioeconomic status, eating habits, and the consumption of sugary drinks, physical activity, sleep, stress or family influences. The family has a great influence on the child and his life from early childhood. Positive and negative as well. Many studies have already been published, that looked at the connections between the family's socioeconomic situation, place of residence, inappropriate diet, excessive consumption of sugary drinks, little physical activity and the likelihood of becoming overweight and obese. Several of them are mentioned in this work. It is necessary to spread the results of these studies among the lay public and try to motivate them to change bad habits in the population. The experimental work focus on a questionnaire survey, in which it was determined whether there is a correlation between...
Targeted analysis of eicosanoids by LC/MS
Moravcová, Marie ; Kuda, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kozlík, Petr (referee)
Eicosanoids represent large group of biologically active lipid metabolites syntesized from polyunsaturated fatty acids that play an important role in many physiological processes. To describe complex metabolism of these compounds, analytical methods including extraction from a biological sample using solid phase extraction and liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometer detection were used. Solid phase extraction of biological samples was optimized on four types of reverse phase columns of which column Strata X 60 mg/3 ml, 33 um (Phenomenex , USA) was the most effective. Also, alternative solid phase extraction of eicosanoids using columns with ion exchange sorbents and a column with normal phase were tested, but proved to be unsuitable for targeted analysis of eicosanoids. The extraction method yielding the best results - Strata X 60 mg/3 ml, 33 µm (Phenomenex, USA) was used for the separation of eicosanoids from mouse gonadal fat samples. Eicosanoids were analyzed by liquid chromatography and the separation mechanisms were tested on three UPLC core-shell columns of different lengths (50 mm, 100 mm, 150 mm). The most effective separation of prostaglandin E2 and prostaglandin D2 was achieved using the longest column Kinetex 150 mm × 2,1 mm, 2,6 µm. Furthermore, ionization parameters, such...

Similarities and differences in the Depression and the economic crisis in 2008 and 2009
Moravcová, Marie ; Czesaný, Slavoj (advisor) ; Mládek, Josef (referee)
This thesis focuses on two of the biggest economic crisis that hit the world over the past hundred years. Because both crises have several common and different features, the main aim of this work to compare the results of analyzes of both the crisis in terms of identifying their similarities and differences. The main goal is the specifics of disability trends and macroeconomic contexts of monetary and fiscal policy in the crisis decades. The empirical part of this thesis is focused on the economy of the United States of America. In the methodological approach to monitor and analyze financial and economic crisis is distinguished from several time levels. This is an analysis of the same features and heterogeneities of the business cycle in the pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis period.
Optimal Currency Area and Russia in the Nineties
Krizi identifikuji jejím vznikem, průběhem, dopady a celkovým zhodnocením. Závěr práce je věnován srovnání ruské krize s významnými krizemi v 90. letech. Analýzou a kompletním rozborem hluboké krize v Rusku, bych chtěla sjednotit pohledy na problematiku měnových krizí.
