Financial return of home photovoltaic power plant
Jančík, Josef ; Malý, Milan (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis if focused on return on ivestment evaluation of a photovoltaic system of residential house. The calculation is made for photovoltaic system with and without accumulation and in combination with other alternative source – heat pump. The costs of instalation and working of new systems are then compared between each other and with the cost of working of a current system without photvoltaic.
Influence of manufacturing process and precision on quality of liquid atomization from pressure-swirl atomizers
Lebeda, Kryštof ; Cejpek, Ondřej (referee) ; Malý, Milan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the effects of manufacturing inaccuracies and manufacturing method on the spray quality of pressure-swirl atomizers. First, basic principles of atomization are outlined. In the next section, observed atomization parameters of pressure swirl atomizers are discussed. This is followed by a research of available studies investigating influence of inaccuracies and manufacturing methods on selected parameters. In the practical part evaluation of measured data of pressure-swirl atomizers with defects at discharge orifice, different surface roughness and atomizers made by 3D printing was carried out. Skewness and misalignment of discharge orifice significantly reduced spray quality. No effect of surface roughness for conventionally manufactured nozzles was found. The use of 3D printing for nozzle production resulted in a deterioration of atomization fineness. Chamfering of dicharge orifice promoted larger spray cone angle but did not affect the atomization fineness.

Possibilities for replication of spraying nozzles by means of 3D printing methods
Petrenec, Jan ; Malý, Milan (referee) ; Jedelský, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of using additive manufacturing (AM) in case of replication of pressure swirl atomizers in order to reduce the financial costs as well as the production times achieved by the existing production processes. Several goals were set by an assignment of this thesis. In particular, the individual 3D printing methods were discussed in detail and the specific selected type of spray nozzle was introduced, together with their requirements that have been elaborated in detail. The applicability of the individual representatives of AM was also evaluated, and their comparison was made. The result of this work are two potentially useful methods for replicating pressure swirl nozzles, namely Micro Laser Sintering and Direct Metal Laser Sintering. Due to lack of time and the already large extent of this thesis, an optional 6th task was not carried out and the experimental verification of these set conclusions remains a question for further studies.
Design of a spray column for CO2 capture
Veselý, Filip ; Malý, Milan (referee) ; Cejpek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with methods of CO2 separation from flue gases in energy industry and industrial processes in order to reduce CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Bachelor thesis discusses the post-combustion CO2 capture using spray columns. After literature review of separation processes and experiments conducted before, advantages and disadvantages of separation processes are discussed. The following part of bachelor thesis is dedicated to the analysis of spray column components. At the end of this chapter the suitable components are chosen and designed. The main outcome of the work is a conceptual design of a spray column. Spray column is designed for research purposes at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in spray labs. In the design procedure main aim was devoted to suitable spray columns design for optical experiments. During the spray column design the space requirements of the laboratory and economic of the design need to be accounted.
Quality of fuel atomization from small pressure-swirl atomizers
Experimentální část popisuje testovací trať, provozní podmínky a nastavení experimentu. Výsledy obsahují vizualizaci spreje, velikostní rozložení kapek uvnitř spreje, profily rychlosti a Sautrova středního průměru za použití různých provozních podmínek jako je různá vzdálenost od trysky, rozdílný vstupní tlak a různé kapaliny.
Suggestions for extension of gastronomic services in the Imperial Catering company
Sichler, Radim ; Malý, Milan (referee) ; Mikulec, Luděk (advisor)
This study deals with creating suggestions for extension of gastronomic services in the IMPERIAL CATERING, company. It describes and analyses gastronomy and the business environment in which company operates. It also tries to find ways of improving services and that way to establish and improve the company’s position on the market.
Determination of droplet velocity and size from high-speed imaging
Juroška, Jan ; Cejpek, Ondřej (referee) ; Malý, Milan (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis there was created a method of getting velocity and size of droplets form a video using computer vision. Velocity is obtained via PIVlab toolbox in matlab, wich uses Particle Image Velocimetry. Size is obtained via matlab code. Theoretical basis on wich this code was written is included in the theoretical part of this thesis. In practical part of this thesis, accuracy of this method was evaluated and the method was applied on a video of a real spray droplet flow.
Optical measurement of liquid surface tension
Malá, Kateřina ; Pech, Ondřej (referee) ; Malý, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis explores the topic of measuring surface tension of liquids. The theoretical section explains the basic principles as well as possibilities of application of several measuring methods. In the next part, the most suitable method is selected in terms of ease of use, accuracy and purchase cost. The pendent drop method has been found to fit these criteria. The experimental section of the thesis describes the measuring apparatus and the analytic tool used. The results comprise an analysis of the factors which may affect the measurement precision as well as a comparison of an automatic and a manual analysis, and a reference measurement that confirms the aperture as efficient at measuring surface tension of liquids.
Experimental study of spray characteristics and functionality of small pressure-swirl atomizers
Byl použit různý počet vstupních portů (2, 3 a 4), různé vířivé komůrky (kulová, kuželová, konvexní, nízká kuželová) a rozdílné návrhy obtokového otvoru (osové, mimosové). Důraz byl kladen na posouzení stability spreje, kde pulzující sprej negativně ovlivňuje provozní charakteristiky spalovací komory. Vlastnosti spreje byly proměřeny fázovým dopplerovským analyzátorem, cirkulární homogenita byla hodnocena mechanickým paternátorem a rozpad kapaliny byl vizualizován pomocí jednoduchého laserového stínografu.
