Doležalová, Emma ; Listíková, Renáta (advisor) ; Fučíková, Milena (referee)
5 ABSTRACT This bachelor's thesis deals with the phenomenon called "French gallantry" of the 17th century and its various aspects, including etymology, its impact on a certain degree of women's emancipation, preciosity, contemporary manners, salons, gallant love and eroticism, as well as its demise associated with the advent of the French Revolution. The thesis examines the origin of the term "gallantry" whose main significance lies in courteous behaviour towards women and each other. Emphasis is placed on the role gallantry played in women's emancipation, helping them gain social recognition. Inextricably linked to this are salons, the environments that promoted the intellectual exchange of ideas. The thesis also delves into an analysis of gallant literature of the 17th century focusing on themes of love and eroticism, and how they were portrayed in works of the time. The pre-Romantic period put an end to this social phenomenon, focusing on a completely different proclamation of feelings. This thesis aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of French gallantry, using a literary approach based on the analysis texts and works from the period. Czech talls in French
Havlíčková, Eliška ; Listíková, Renáta (advisor) ; Fučíková, Milena (referee)
The folk tales of Karel Jaromír Erben and Božena Němcová are an integral part of Czech culture and tradition. Erben and Němcová's fairy tales have been translated into many world languages, including French. Thanks to these translations, awareness of the Czech language and local culture is spread worldwide. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to determine which fairy tales by Erben and Němcová have been translated into French and to provide examples of some publishing houses that have published Czech fairy tales in French, as well as the availability and reception of these fairy tales by readers. At the end of the work, French translations are compared to their Czech originals, with a focus on a more detailed comparison of the original French fairy tale La Belle aux cheveux d'or by Madame d'Aulnoy with the Czech version by Karel Jaromír Erben of Goldilocks. Based on the comparison of selected literary texts, it is found that the French translations do not differ from the Czech originals in any significant way, with fairy tale motifs and intentions remaining preserved, but characteristics of characters may change, as is the case with La Belle aux cheveux d'or.

Váchová, Aneta ; Jančík, Jiří (advisor) ; Listíková, Renáta (referee)
Czech-French contrastive lexicological commentary on legal texts of inheritance law The subject of this thesis is a Czech French contrastive lexicological commentary on selected legal texts in the field of inheritance law in legal systems of the Czech Republic and France. In three main chapters, the thesis analyses the lexical specifics of the French legal language - in contrast to the Czech legal language. Within these chapters, it was firstly necessary to define and specify the legal language, outline the various linguistic devices used and, last but not least, their application in the translation of legal texts. The first chapter deals in more detail with the legal language in general - its determination in the context of French and Czech legislation, the development of technical vocabulary, as well as the analysis of the individual requirements placed on the legislator when formulating legal texts. The second chapter is then devoted to specific paradigmatic meaning relations in legal language, in particular relations that violate the semiotic-logical relation between a form and a meaning (synonymy, polysemy), oppositeness, hyperonymy and hyponymy. Those relations are firstly explained and shown on examples from Czech and French inheritance law and then compared with the common language....
Reflection of French Religious Conditions and Renaissance Thinking in Margaret of Navarre's Heptametron
Beranová, Daniela ; Listíková, Renáta (advisor) ; Ébert-Zeminová, Catherine (referee)
The diploma thesis The Reflection of French Religious Conditions and Renaissance Thinking in Margaret of Navarre's Heptameron is about the life and work of Margaret of Navarre who is one of the most important personalities in French history and literature. The thesis introduces her as an enlightened woman representing significant progress in French society who was ahead of her time in many areas. This paper focuses on the analysis of her only prosaic book Heptameron. The analysis proves that this book contains not only medieval, but also renaissance characteristics. Deep philosophical and theological questions, which were actual for the religious reformation were brought up and elaborated by Margaret in Heptameron. The thesis tries to uproot an erroneous idea about the unimportant role of women in the past. It also tries to prove that it is impossible to distinguish distinct dividing lines between different periods in history. KEYWORDS Margaret of Navarre Heptameron Renaissance Reformation
