Assessment of suitability MSW landfilling in the Czech Republic

The paper examines the suitability of municipal waste landfill in the Czech Republic. Landfill is still the most common method of waste disposal. This is mainly due to the number of landfills in the country, the level of charges, poorly built infrastructure capacity and other technical facilities for waste management. The work deals with the actual construction of landfill, through the production, collection and sorting MSW to the political and economic waste management. It also focusing on current issues of legislation and waste management. Part of this work is survey of public opinion and proffesional's views on this issue, which is divided to supporters and opponents. Although the landfill haves still a decreasing trend, the fact remains that there will be always stay some residual waste that can not to be completly remove. So the landfill will always remain as integral part of waste management.
Analysis of Littering in the protected areas of the Czech Republic

The problems of litter are now getting to the forefront of attention in the realm of waste research. The phenomenon of littering is monitored especially in towns, but not so much outside the urbanized areas. Waste represents, for both esthetic and conservationist reasons, an undesirable phenomenon. This holds true for the protected areas in particular. This Master's Thesis is concerned with the analysis of litter, which should be the first step in the prevention and solution of the problems of littering. Three protected landscape areas and two national parks were chosen for this survey. Two tourist trails were selected in each protected area - the main and the minor one. The collection of litter was carried out in spring, summer and autumn. Collected waste was categorized at first and then a number of pieces, weight and volume were set for each category concerned. The largest amount of litter was collected in the National park Krkonoše and the smallest in the Protected landscape area Kokořínsko. The largest number of litter pieces is represented by cigarette waste, followed by plastic and hygienic waste. Littering in shopping malls in Prague.

In the area waste is now getting to the forefront the issue of free discarded waste, so- called litter. Littering talking about in the context of street sweepings discarded in neutral places for them to represent an aesthetic problem in public areas. The first step in preventing and solving the problems thrown open waste should be an analysis of the waste. This thesis deals with the problem loosely thrown in the waste business centers. For the study were selected and five shopping malls in Prague. Shopping center varies different area, location and accessibility. Each business center wastes were collected in the center of all common areas and covered car parks, where the trade center underground parking lot had. Each shopping mall has been collecting conducted three times each at different times. Collected waste was categorized into several groups of material, which was subsequently weighed. Most litter was found in the shopping center Nový Smíchov, but after calculating the area of the one square kilometer was the largest amount of waste reported in Arkády Pankrác. Study of the composition and production of household waste in the Czech Republic

In many countries they set targets formunicipal waste reuse and for reduction of the amount landfilled. To develop effective strategies requires knowledge of reliable information on the composition of municipal waste. At present, however, in most European countries and the rest of theworld use different methods for the analysis of the composition of waste, which vary considerably, not only in scale but also a focus. As a part of this work has been carried out research on total waste production in households with anemphasis on organic waste, using new research methods. It was determined during production regard less of any subsequent disposal method. This research was supplemented by questionnaire surfy focused on household waste management. There search results showed that the average proportion of individual components in household waste is 25% for paper, 7% for plastic, 12%for glass, 2% for metal, 28% for organic waste, 10% for animal waste, another 16% of waste and 1% for.hazardous waste . It was also not found that the production of individual components of household waste differed significantly between various types of dwelling. Study of the gastrowaste management

Food wastes are problematic group of wastes due to their properties and the ways how they can be processed. The theoretical part of this work contained a summary of legislation relating to the disposal of food wastes in the Czech Republic. There is also investigated their production the European Union and the Czech Republic and there are tested ways of dealing with them. Practical part presents the results of our own research and examples of companies engaged in the collection of food wastes. In conclusion, this study suggests recommendations of changes in the treatment of food wastes.
