Types of rolling bearings wear
Kapusta, Juraj ; Košťál, David (referee) ; Zapletal, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to classify the rolling bearing wear from the very origin, the course in the operating state and the resulting quality of the component until the complete elimination. The design and subsequent production guarantee the life of the part, when the required working hours work safely. The designer's role in designing a bearing selection for a given bearing, lubrication and load transfer is to take into account all factors that could lead to damage. In practice, the customer's choice of bearing is recommended according to various computational methods that ensure optimal selection of a standardized bearing from the catalog. The individual parts contain values specifying the strength and dynamic properties that the customer can handle. The result will be a survey of several real companies, analysis of their implementation and accessibility of modules to facilitate the selection of the correct bearing. To do this, I try to make the issue of wear and tear accessible, which is related to the prevention of these undesirable effects.
Design of cutting unit
Jelínek, Pavel ; Košťál, David (referee) ; Brandejs, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with a structural design of a cutting roller including a proposal for its drive and exhaust system of the flexography machine Premia produced by Soma spol. s r.o. company. The first part discusses the technology of flexography and about the issue of cropping and extraction of material in general. Another part discusses the optimization of these systems, including the final engineering design. The main outcome of this thesis are drawings of assemblies listed in the annexes.
Design of a steam engine
Duchoň, Matěj ; Křupka, Jiří (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
This bachelor theses deals with a construction of a model of a single-cylinder static steam engine driven by an external heat source. In this construction, the overall size and weight were limiting. As a part of this theses, the research on existing constructions was carried out. Based on these findings, three conceptual studies were elaborated. As a result, a design solution of a steam engine in a configuration with a flat slide valve and an open crosshead guidance was designed. The model serves as a teaching aid for understanding the principles of the earlier piston machines and for explaining the basic machine mechanisms and thermodynamic process.
Bearings for space
Vavřík, Petr ; Nečas, David (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
Currently, space satellites in orbit are required to operate reliably for more than 10 years. This places high demands on the satellite's tribological systems, which must function properly in the hostile space environment for this period. This bachelor thesis deals with the description of suitable bearings and their lubrication for space applications. Lubrication regimes are described at the outset. Then, space factors affecting the proper operation of tribological systems are summarized. The largest part is devoted to the description of the most used bearings and lubricants. The thesis concludes with the design of suitable bearings and their lubrication for the satellite reaction wheel.
Desing of the carbon cap for the bike's fork
Gallo, Dominik ; Čípek, Pavel (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis discusses problems and solutions of design of the carbon crown for the bike's fork. It shows an overview of the possible implementation of the initial design up to final part. The output will be the crown made of carbon composite by mould pressing. For manufacturing the prototype form will be used 3D printing – Fused Deposition Modeling.
Design of Artificial Hip Joint Test Rig
Dočkal, Kryštof ; Košťál, David (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
In this thesis, is described one of possible approachs to the design of the hip joint simulation rig, primarily designed for analysis of the lubricant film thickness at the contact of two conformally curved surfaces (femoral head and acetabulum). In relative motion of those two components of artificial hip joints is necessary to observe the behavior of lubrication film between them. The observation is also related to choice of appropriate observational method. In the design of the artificial hip joint is today primarily used wear simulations on smulations rig with very accurate simulation of kinematics of biological hip joints. For description of the behavior of the lubricants between conformall surfaces is used a simplified kinematics along with optical interferometry. The simulation rig will be able to study behavior of lubricant layer using optical inteferometry,
Elaboration of examples for teaching assembly breakdowns in Inventor
Nečas, Zbyněk ; Koutecký, Tomáš (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the presentation environment of the Autodesk Inventor program, especially the description of individual functions and how to work with them. The main part of this work is the creation of educational examples for teaching assembly breakdowns in Inventor. Because this is a new subject, there is only a limited number of these examples. Therefore, three educational presentations will be part of this work, describing the process of how students will work with the created assemblies available to them in E-learning. These examples will help students to gain knowledge and experience about decomposition of assemblies, following creation of images and videos, as well as their use in drawings or technical manuals.
Friction of materials for optomechanical parts
Mořický, Ondřej ; Košťál, David (referee) ; Šperka, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with friction between materials used in the construction of optomechanical assemblies. The aim of the thesis is to compare coefficient of friction for different combinations of surfaces, different roughness, and different surface treatments. Experimental measurement was carried out on a tribometer using the pin-on-plate method under the dry friction conditions. Graphs of the development of coefficient of friction over time and a table to compare individual combinations were compiled from the results of the measurement. It includes an analysis of surfaces using optical profilometry before and after the tests.

Study of lubrication films formation under starved lubrication conditions
Košťál, David ; Hartl, Martin (referee) ; Křupka, Ivan (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to reveal production mechanisms of lubrication films between non-conformal surfaces in situations, when is not possible to designate lubrication regime as fully flooded elastohydrodynamic contact. Under certain conditions of lubrication volume, rolling speeds, temperatures, lubrication properties or loads could lubrication film decrease under values determined by fully flooded formulas. This regime is designated as starvation at it includes risk of increased wear. In this thesis the methodology and the new simulator of starving contact are described. Obtained film thickness results are compared with existing numerical models.
