Use of a photovoltaic power plant for an integrated rescue system
Jelínek, Richard ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The work deals with the issue of using a mobile photovoltaic power plants in the interventions of the units of the integrated rescue system. It analyzes the theory of solar energy and its conversion into electrical energy and then analyzes the individual elements of the photovoltaic power plant. It tell us what type of pump is used in interventions and what and which type of power plants is used in. He then deals with his own design of a power plant, which serves as an alternative energy source, for internal combustion engines.
Effect of additives in lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Tobolák, Jakub ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on lead-acid batteries used in hybrid electric vehicles. These batteries operate under partial charge, which brings problems with premature capacity loss. Tasks is to examine the influence of glass fibers as possible additives to the negative electrode of these cells in order to extend their life. The text describes the problem of hybrid electric vehicles, lead-acid batteries and other electrochemical sources.
Methods for achievement of maximum power of PV modules
Svrček, Milan ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the tracking of the maximum power point for photovoltaic panels and the methods used to achieve it. On this basis, two methods were designed and programmed and subsequently tested on three types of photovoltaic panels. In conclusion methods were appraised.
Automatic evaluation of the solar spectrum
Vlček, Josef ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Špinka, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with properties of a solar radiation, measurement of a solar spectrum and standard IEC 60904-9, which defines the requirements for a solar simulator. Solar simulators are classified as A, B or C for each of the three categories based on criteria of spectral distribution match, irradiance non-uniformity on the test plane and temporal instability. The goal of this thesis was creation software for automatic evaluation of a solar spectrum. Software was created in Matlab application and its function is to determine class of solar spectral match with spectrum AM1.5. The last part contains a measurement of various solar sources and using the created software was determined its spectral match with spectrum AM1.5.
Introduction of a method for measuring photovoltaic modules under NOCT conditions
Melichařík, Martin ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This work focuses on the design of a method for testing photovoltaic panels under NOCT conditions, ie at the operating temperature of the photovoltaic cell, which has a major impact on its performance and other parameters. The method was tested and verified on a Pasan SunSim 3c solar simulator. An integral part of this work is also to determine the uncertainties of this measurement method.
Upgrade of testing workplace for solar cells
Řezníček, Martin ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The master‘s thesis is focused on the modification of measurement workplace for solar cells. In the first part of the thesis are introduced general problems of the solar energy and possible use in the international power supply, the details about the photovoltaic effect, processing of solar cells and their subsequent parameters. More further in the text the autor is concerned with causes of solar cells defects formation and representation of the most important defects. For defects detection are known the detection methods of solar cells, which are generally described in the text. The second part of the thesis includes detailed description of the LBIC method and workplace both the VUT Brno, and in Solartec, Ltd. The most important point of this part is project and description of innovated workplace from hardware and software realization. There is out of print the function and the description of the user interface and subsequently there are mentioned results gained from original and innovated workplace. In the conclusion are summarized whole activities of the master’s thesis, described and evaluated achieved results and outlined the direction, where would the other development of the LBIC workplace on VUT Brno be proceeding.
Investigation of temperature change in lead-acid accumulator for HEV
Tošer, Pavel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The oldest and also most used type of secondary cells is lead-acid accumulator. Basic functional principle stayed same as in foundation time, only operation parameters are still improving (for example one of the most important is lifetime). Significant technical problem is temperature of lead-acid battery and her influence on functionality and running reactions. Master thesis is focused on this section, when is necessary to evaluate new pieces of knowledge in development. The work deals with description existing types of accumulators, further deals with theory of temperature balance and in the end by measured datas and theirs analyzing.
Photovoltaic system for RAPS applications
Nevoral, Miroslav ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The beginning of this work presents the basic principles of photovoltaic cells, their advantages and disadvantages. There is also an overview of photovoltaic systems. The next part takes a closer look on lead-acid accumulators followed by a practical part regarding the measurement of VA characteristics. The main goal of this work is to assemble an experimental PV system. It will consist of a PV module, an accumulator (consisting of two cells connected in series and producing an overall voltage of 5V) and of a variable load (assembled from nineteen resistors with resistance varying from tens to hundreds of Ohms). This system is connected to a computer that runs the control software which was created using the VEEPro 8.0 simulation environment. The measurements can be taken in two ways. Either the operator can select the load resistor combinations manually, or the operator only launches the measurement and the load is selected automatically by the software. This way we obtain an automatized workplace for measuring VA characteristics of photovoltaic panels.
Usage of bypass diodes for photovoltaics modules
Chocholáč, Jan ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with usage of bypass diodes in photovoltaic panels. Familiarize us with principles of photovoltaic modules and functions, their electrical characteristics and features. The central objective of this work is description of influence of bypass diodes on particularly shading photovoltaic panels and its volt-ampere characteristics. By the help of created software in Agilent VEE 8.0 simulate the shading panel and compare with real measurement.
Optimalization of pulse charging mode of lead-acid battery
Sygeryč, Daniel ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with pulse charging lead acid batteries. The theoretical part provides the basic electrochemical reactions that take place in the lead pack, then this section discusses important parameters of lead-acid battery, its structure and distribution of the various types depending on the application. The next section describes the theory of charging lead-acid battery. The practical part deals with constructing experimental cells, which are then tested. The subject of the experimental execution and optimization of pulse charging modes in order to find a suitable pulse mode, which reduces the duration of charging, while significantly shorten the life of lead-acid battery.
