Artificial intelligence for application services classification in network communication

The master thesis focuses on the selection of a suitable algorithm for the classification of selected network traffic services and its implementation. The theoretical part describes the available classification approaches together with commonly used algorithms and selected network services. The practical part focuses on the preparation and preprocessing of the dataset, selection and optimization of the classification algorithm and verifying the classification capabilities of the algorithm in the various scenarios of the dataset.
Parametrization of network attacks

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the definition of suitable parameters for network attack identification with the use of neural networks. In the theoretical part of this thesis are methods for anomaly detection in network communication, structure of artificial neural networks and DDoS attacks used for verification of detection capabilities. The practical part of this thesis is focused on the process of preparing data, the subsequent implementation into neural networks and a summary of the results achieved for the different setups of neural networks.
Induction and course of programmed cell death in cancer cells after taxane application."

The taxanes are a class of commonly used anticancer agents, which are very effective in treatment of breast, ovarian, prostate or lung cancer. Taxanes bind to the β-tubulin subunit of microtubules and lead to their stabilization and inhibition of depolymerization. Such microtubules lose their function to form mitotic spindle, thus arresting cells in G2/M phase and resulting in apoptosis. Unfortunately some cells are able to escape from taxanes-induced apoptosis by developing various mechanisms of resistance including alteration in taxanes target microtubules or upregulation of specific transporters that pump the drug out of cells. Other types of resistance are connected with process of programmed cell death (PCD), especially with proteins that after taxane application participate in its successful progress. Taxanes can directly or indirectly modify the activity of Bcl-2-family proteins that control mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum integrity, thus regulating the initiation of PCD. Caspases are executioners of PCD and caspase-2 activated by cytoskeletal disruption seems to be especially important in taxanes- induced apoptosis. In some cases can taxane treatment also result in caspase-independent cell death. Special role has protein p53 that seems to be involved only in apoptosis caused by low taxanes...
Molecular mechanisms of apoptosis induction by taxanes in breast cancer cells

Taxanes are cytostatic routinely used for the treatment of solid breast, ovarian, prostate, head and neck tumors and other types of tumors. Resistance of tumor cells to the effect of taxanes represents serious obstacle for the employment of taxanes in the treatment of tumors. This resistance can be associated, among other things, with lower rate of apoptosis induction in cancer cells or also with increased level of transporters transporting taxanes out of the cell. In this PhD thesis we tried: (1) to contribute to elucidation of the role of molecular mechanisms of apoptosis induction by taxanes in cells of human breast cancer. Specifically, it meant to contribute to elucidation of the role of initiator caspase -8 a - 9 and mainly of initiator caspase-2. Next, to contribute to elucidation of the role of executioner caspase -3 - 6, and -7 and selected proteins of the Bcl-2 family. (2) To contribute to elucidation of molecular mechanisms of resistance of human breast cancer cells to taxanes.
