Implementation of a Social Housing Project within the Organisation
Gregorová, Jana ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Vejchodská, Eliška (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on the innovative project, the Real Estate Office for Social Housing, and its implementation in a specific organization. The project is one of the possibilities of solving homelessness, so in the first part I look at this issue from the perspective of the social and housing sector, which is most linked to the project, as well as from a historical and legislative perspective. Then I concentrate on the specific type of support for people in housing need, which the project falls under. The aim of the thesis is to describe the process of implementation, or rather its sub-parts, of the Real Estate Office for Social Housing, and to explain its risks using the organisation theory and the theory of Street-Level Bureaucracy. In the research I have used a qualitative methodology, specifically a design of a case study research. The research was conducted through four semi-structured interviews with typical Street-Level Bureaucrats. In my research I used qualitative methodology, specifically a case study research design. The research was conducted using four semi-structured interviews with typical line managers. I introduce the main factors influencing implementation - the communication and cooperation, particularly across departments; the public relations of the organisation; the...
Discursive analysis of political communication in the discussion of the amendment to Act No. 329/2021 on the provision of childcare in the 2017-2021 electoral period
Černá, Jitka ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Angelovská, Olga (referee)
Children's groups are one of the effective family policy tools for reconciling family and working life. At the same time, within the current system of pre-school care in the Czech Republic, they supplement the insufficient capacity of kindergartens. In 2014, Act No. 247/2014 Coll. on children's groups was approved, which basically defined the conditions and standards in which children's groups operate. Tools for reconciling family and working life, which include children's groups, came to the fore following the adoption of the European Directive 2019/1158 on work-life balance. Children's groups were funded by the European Operational Programme Employment, but this could only be drawn on until 2022. Therefore, in 2021, the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic discussed the need to reconsider the funding of children's groups and, at the same time, to revise the conditions for running children's groups. The thesis aims to investigate the communication strategies of political actors on the topic of children's groups using the method of discursive analysis, at the same time comparing the communication of children's groups with the way of communication of other topics from the remit of social affairs in the election programmes of the then parliamentary parties in the 2017 and 2021...
Women's mutual support in political parties as a possible path towards equal representation of women and men
Perglová, Zdeňka ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Frič, Pavol (referee)
The theme of this paper is mutual support between women in political parties as one of the means to improve equal representation of women in politics. The theoretical part of the paper illustrates that the causes of low representation of women do not lie within women themselves. Using the theory of historical institutionalism, it shows how difficult it is to change deeply rooted institutions like a political party, political environment, as well as the whole society. It also considers the importance of monitoring representation not only by numbers, but also by the division of power in terms of gender. It studies the queen bee phenomenon which manifests itself in male-dominated environments. It introduces basic types of women's mutual support such as sharing, networking, women's platforms, and mentoring. The goal of the paper is to discover, by means of the qualitative research method, what experiences women in political parties have with mutual support and which barriers stand in its way. It identifies several forms of mutual support that appear among women, from informal sharing to robust women's platform. It establishes a series of characteristics which can be used to distinguish between the forms of support. It divides barriers to mutual support into five categories - denial of the problem,...
Prostitution Policy in the Czech Republic: Agenda setting
Bodocká, Anna ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Veselý, Arnošt (referee)
This master's thesis focuses on understanding the process of prostitution policy-making in the Czech Republic using agenda-setting theory in relation to the basics of prostitution policy in the country. The Czech Republic is one of the countries that do not have its legislation, therefore the thesis also describes and explains the situation that has preceded the proposals for the regulation of prostitution. The research is based on secondary data in the form of public policy documents, academic publications, or media reports in connection with the agenda-setting of prostitution policy in the Czech Republic from 2000 to 2019. The thesis focuses on three time periods, which match the legislative attempts to regulate prostitution. This is based on the conceptual scheme of the thesis, which includes components of the formation and subsequent agenda-setting. Finally, it focuses on the overall explanation through the model of "The four 'P's". The text relies on the public policy frameworks described in the theoretical section. It presents the agenda-setting of prostitution policy in the Czech Republic between 2000 and 2019, which was not successful and had no spillover to the next phase of the policy process.

Plavecká, Tereza ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Vejchodská, Eliška (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on the housing situation of young families with children in the context of the housing crisis in Prague. The main aim of the thesis is to describe and understand the housing situation of young families in detail and at the same time to explain the situation and their behaviour from the perspective of the welfare state theory and from a life-cycle perspective. The thesis is interested in the history of the housing situation of families and the broader context of the problem - family and housing policy and the transformation of the family at the beginning of the 21st century, the threats to families and the new social risks. Based on a structured analysis of individual interviews with nine young parents, it seeks answers to the questions of whether families are finding affordable housing, what problems they face, and how social policy is responding to their situation. It presents options for measures to improve the housing situation of families, using examples from abroad and the Czech Republic. It gives voice to young families with children who are under- represented in today's debate on unaffordable housing in an urbanised world.

Tofoatsi, Laura ; Hejzlarová, Eva (advisor) ; Jusić, Mirna (referee)
This study examines the impact of maternity protection on exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) among corporate mothers in Greater Accra, Ghana. Using the Gendered Organizational Theory as the conceptual framework, the study sought to identify the prevailing rate of EBF among corporate mothers and to assess the impact of the availability of breastfeeding facilities at their workplaces and the work from home practice on mothers' decision to practice six months EBF. An exploratory and descriptive research design was adopted, and data were collected through quantitative approach. A survey questionnaire which included both closed-ended and open-ended questions was administered to 53 working mothers. The study results indicate that the rate of exclusive breastfeeding among employed mothers is not high, as per the definition established by the WHO and UNICEF. The study also found that the availability of breastfeeding facilities at workplaces has a positive impact on mothers' decision to practice six months EBF, as it increases their convenience and reduces their stress levels. Additionally, the study found that the work from home practice positively influences mothers' decision to practice six months EBF, as it allows...
