Assessing Selected Indicators Using Statistical Methods
Lovas, Jakub ; Hájek, Michal (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of selected indicators of SAKO Brno a.s. using statistical methods. Theoretical starting points describing selected indicators and statistical methods are presented in the first part of thesis. The practical part contains the calculations of the individual indicators for the period from 2009 to 2015, which are necessary for the development of own solutions proposals. The bachelor thesis also includes a simple application created in Microsoft Office Excel 2016.
Landscape structure, habitat properties, species traits or chance: What determines distribution of grassland plants in abandoned fields?
Knappová, Jana ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Hájek, Michal (referee) ; De Bello, Francesco (referee)
Semi-natural grasslands are among the most threatened habitats in Europe, endangered mainly by cessation of former management practices and conversion into other types of land use. Extensive research has been carried out in European grasslands in last decades, to explain origins of diversity and to provide guidelines for its conservation. However, the very slow response of perennial plants to landscape changes often impedes to accurately evaluate why species occur just where they occur and not elsewhere. Abandoned fields are perceived as potential habitats for species from declining grasslands. Indeed, many species are able to spontaneously colonise abandoned fields, but many other species are absent from communities that develop there. An important question remains what limits their successful establishment. By answering this question, we can gain also important insights into factors determining species distribution in grasslands because colonization of recently abandoned fields by grassland species is the ongoing process which is not obscured by historical changes in landscape structure. The very basic aim of this thesis was to evaluate the status quo of dry grassland plants in fields abandoned in last two decades. And in the second step, to identify what are the main constrains of successful...
Integration pupils from Muslim families to the educational process of physical education in elementary schools
Hájek, Michal ; Kašpar, Ladislav (advisor) ; Stracený, Josef (referee) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
Title of the thesis: Are children from Muslim families at a disadvantage during Physical Education lessons in primary schools? Keywords: migration, integration, multiculturalism, Muslim children, mainstreaming, inclusive physical education The aim of this research is to identify how children from Muslim families are at a disadvantage during Physical Education lessons in primary schools in the Czech Republic. In order to achieve the goal of this work, I used the quantitative method of collecting data by using an electronic survey available in four languages. The survey was completed by 66 Muslim parents and their children. The results show the problems of integrating pupils from Muslims families into the educational process of physical education in elementary schools in the Czech Republic. There are written recommendations in eleven problematic areas for physical education teachers, heads of PE departments and leaders of schools in order to more easily integrate Muslim pupils into the educational process of physical education in elementary schools in the Czech Republic.

Effect of fertilizers application on grassland ecosystems: what can tell us long-term experiments?
Hejcman, Michal ; Suchara, Ivan (advisor) ; Hájek, Michal (referee) ; Poschlod, Peter (referee)
GENERAL CONCLUSIONS Benefit of all present papers for current stage of knowledge is directly obvious from their text. So, I will summarize the main benefit of each paper very briefly here. Chapter 2 - From the comparison of long-term vs short-term nutritional effects, it was concluded that long-term fertilizer experiments are irreplaceable as many existing models and predictions can be validated only by means of long-term manipulation of plant communities and their continuous observation and documentation. Chapter 3 - Long-term fertilizer application can create grasslands with no overlap of plant species composition in the scale of several meters. Species indicative of low productivity grasslands (short grasses, orchids, and sedges) can survive longterm nitrogen application if phosphorus is limiting nutrient for growth of highly productive grassland species. Chapter 4 - Long-term addition of limiting nutrient can affect grassland ecosystem in three ways: 1) by change in plant species composition without significant increase in total biomass production, 2) by no change in species composition but with significant increase in total biomass production, and 3) by substantial change in plant species composition accompanied by significant increase in total biomass production. Chapter 5 - Long-term fertilizer...
Ventilation values of elementary and middle school students during their physical education classes
Hájek, Michal ; Šafránek, Jiří (advisor) ; Baláš, Jiří (referee)
Title: Ventilation values ofelementary and middle school students during their physical education classes. Dissertation goal: To find out volume ofventilation values of elementary and middle school students during their physical education classes. To accomplish tlůs goal we divided the work into three fazes: - laboratory endurance test of primary school students - measuring heart rate with sport-testers Polar Vantage NV during physical education classes - calculating the amount ofventilation during PE classes using heart rate results and laboratory endurance test results Process used in the project: To find out the amount ofventilations in primary school students during their physical education classes we used, laboratory endurance test and heart rate measuring test. We used regression line to obtain ventilation values during PE classes. Results: The results are concrete values of ventilation of thirty six students from two primary schools during their physical education classes. Average value of ventilation in the group ZŠ Petřiny 7.class is 1105 litters per PE-lesson, in the group ZŠ Petřiny 5. class is 1075 litters per PE-lesson, in the group ZŠ Mikulandská 7. class is 1596 litters per PE-lesson and in the group ZŠ Mikulandská 5.class is 1285 litters per PE-lesson. Keywords: Ventilation, heart...
