Mezei, Peter ; Foretník, Jan (referee) ; Sochor, Jan (advisor)
I design a group of buildings arranged in regular raster which responds to broader relations by supplementing built-up area of Brno-Ring and also with connection of historical town and development region. In the southern part the metropolitian object with prespace is designed, in the northern complex of administrative buildings and behind the roofing from the architect B. Fuchs there is regularly zoned park. The whole area is interconnected by rewriting of historical mark left by city walls, which passes through buildings and parks.
Riverside House
Šperlová, Zuzana ; Foretník, Jan (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The paper deals with problematics of habitation by an artificial river bed, which was never intended to be part of the public areas of the city. In the work, the urban solution is made of a wider area around the river and its connection to the existing urban structure. Residential houses by the river are designed on unusually narrow parcels, which is inspired by the construction of houses along the rivers in the Netherlands. Another part of the work is the design of an apartment house with a functional ground floor on one of the inner parcels. Given the possibility of opening apartments only at the front and the back of the house, there is problem with lighting and ventilation of the apartment space. This problem has been resolved by creating a gap between a neighboring house and opening the apartments in this gap. This creates two types of apartments, oriented east to the river and west to the city. Spaces are divided as little as possible into individual rooms due to illumination to the depth of the apartment.

Šafářová, Monika ; Foretník, Jan (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
Multifunctional house on the corner of Bratislavská and Stará in Brno. The solution of a vacant lot and the reaction to the current situation in the surroundings of Cejl. The basis of the aproach to the proposal was an intention to hold, underline and establish the specific character which can be sensed throughout the whole district and which makes the district special in the relationship to other parts of Brno. The proposal is completing the vacant lot and it is creating a defined street line. The design is working with the inner space rather than with its surroundings which is characteristic for the whole area of Cejl. The building has quite a strict look on the outside but it is the intention not to disturb the look of the streets.
LIBRARY plus - Multiporpouse Building with Library
Ochotná, Barbora ; Foretník, Jan (referee) ; Kristek, Jan (advisor)
The library is perceived in the history of human culture as a temple of education and knowledge. The Book Temple. These are the spaces filled with millions of books in which the experiences, fantasies and ideas of mankind are written. Books are the medium that mediates them. They are constantly on the rise, their number is infinite. New books acknowledge, deny or replace old ones. They represent a continuous stream of knowledge whose truth is very relative. No one is able to read all books, and learn the "objective truth". The library creates a strain resulting from the consciousness of inevitable ignorance. Physical space with books continues beyond the boundary of the mirror into endlessness out of our reach. Absolutely surrounded by books and the lack of contact with the outside world allows confrontation with the boundaries of one's own knowledge, which can be unbearable. Escape from the world of books allows stairs, that suddenly appear after passage between library shelves arranged along a curve that prevents perspective view. The mind finds relaxation in the soft spaces on the ground floor or in nature on the roof of the library.
To Dvur Kralove by train - Transfer Terminal in Dvur Kralove nad Labem
Burešová, Karolína ; Lekeš, Architekt MSc Vojtěch (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The assignment is to elaborate the architectural design of the new transfer terminal in Dvůr Králové. The terminal has to associate current bus lines and a new train line using the current siding. In the proposal I was primarily concerned with connecting the Terminal to the city with respect to the development area of the city. The shape of the building is based on urban planning. The building continues in the rails and turns into a street line. This creates a scattering surface towards the ground floor of Christmas decorations. The conveyor solution enables the pedestrians to move freely through the platform without crossing the means of transport, facilitating movements of the body and the visually impaired. The stops are located in the immediate vicinity and a direct bus-train-public transport will be created. The aim of the project is to design a node of all movements - pedestrians, cyclists, trains and buses. The proposal builds on all important directions and considers the creation of a city ring from the terminal, the city center and the zoo.
The Students themselves - Student Center Poříčí
Kalivoda, Petr ; Jura, Pavel (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work is solution of the area of the corners of streets Vídeňská and Táborského nábřeží by program of student housing and canteen for a total capacity of two hundred persons. The proposed project draws from a location on the river and the historical context of three monasteries in the area, which offers a typological study of the monasteries, and works with the architectural vision of the Tower of Babel. The main elements of the concept is a ramp through the entire building, which serves as a platform for the student social life.
Jaroslavice – place in the landscape
Májek, Jan ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The work is aimed at the center of the village, which is a square that, in size comparable to that of the Square of Freedom in Brno, is an exhibition of problems: considerable deterioration of the building fund, underground use of the public space, which is moreover unreadable and unreachable. The proposed solution divides the area of the square into three smaller public spaces that have a different character and function. Mariánské námětí is the torso of the existing one, which has been earmarked for the building of a new municipal office and library, is characterized by town houses and the location of services and public amenities. The second area is a semi-detached cottage. It is dominated by walnuts and water. The proposed buildings are oriented towards the library and the wine house. The third such defined area is the Wine Market, which is the crossroads, the scattered area of the surrounding houses, like a school, shops, or wine house. A large part of the COOP building has a sports complex with a halo and a swimming pool. There are solved especially the buildings of the town hall with a library and a wine house.
