Minimization of the Project Duration as a Linear Programming Problem
Pítr, Lukáš ; Kalčevová, Jana (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
There is a network project with activities on arrows and a set of employees. Every employee executes each activity in a different length of time. The aim of this thesis is to find the activities assignment to the employees where the project duration is minimal. For this purpose, graph theory and linear programming methods are used. The introductory chapters describe the basic concepts of the disciplines of operations research that are relevant to this thesis. The content of the fifth, pivotal chapter is the creation of models through which the optimal assignment is sought. For each model, which is followed by computational experiments, optimization is done in two steps. The chapter is concluded by comparing the solutions which have been found.
Project management in regard to opening a coffeehouse
Ilyayeva, Yana ; Fiala, Petr (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
This master thesis focuses on the planning of a coffeehouse in the city of Almaty in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The goal of this work is to discover the costs required to start such a coffeehouse and to estimate the return on the entire investment by incorporating mathematical methods. The main tools used are: methods based on the theory of decision and project management theory. Moreover, this thesis shows the way the precision of mathematical methods can be used when planning a project in the sphere of gastronomy. During the preparation of the business plan, requirements were set for location and qualities of employees. Further, all steps necessary for opening the coffeehouse were specified, together with an analysis of resources, costs and time for the project. By incorporating several methods of the theory of multicriterial decision making, the most favourable location for the coffehouse was found. In order to offer quality service, the best employees were also identified. Based on these results, a financial analysis and return on investment were calculated.
Project Planning: Opening the health food stores
Solaříková, Zdenka ; Flusserová, Lenka (advisor) ; Šindelářová, Irena (referee)
Target of bachelor's work is planning the opening of health food stores, according to conditions from applicant of project and most effective use of resources in synergy. The first part is theoretically oriented. The first part deals with basic concepts and deals with common methods of leading of projects. The second part deals with real project planning. For planning has been used Microsoft Office 2007. Concrete outputs from this program are compared with the input conditions entered by the applicant. Based on this comparison is decided whether the project will be implemented.
Analysis and development of aplication for searching optimal connections and paths in graphs as suppor for education in graph theory
Nevoral, Josef ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
The bachelor thesis analyses current applications of graph theory, which are being used during lectures at the University of Economics, Econometrics department. The purpose is to develope an application for the students with the aim of a gaining better understanding of basic algorithms while searching for optimal connections and optimal paths. As a first step of developing applications the requirements analysis is exercised. Requirements analysis is discussed in two chapters. First of all readers of this paper will find explained basic terms and algorithms from graph theory. Further it is explained what are the possibilities of future extension of presented application; next to it the appearance of the application and the solution presentation is explained there.
Optimalization of flows in the network using the linear programming
Doubrava, Jiří ; Kalčevová, Jana (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with optimization of flows in a network with focus on solutions based on linear programming. The theoretical part is divided into three main sections: maximal flow, minimal flow and maximal flow with minimal costs. The first part focuses on theoretical basics of maximal flow problem and mainly on these algorithms: Ford-Fulkerson, Dinic/Edmonds-Karp, Three Indians algorithm and Goldberg push-relabel algorithm. These are explained on examples. The other chapters explain the minimal flow and the maximal flow with minimal costs problems with simple algorithms for their solutions, again explained on some examples. The practical part includes software solution of maximal flow problem in application MaxTok, which can be found on attached CD.
Process optimization in horse racing
Bezděkovská, Radka ; Fiala, Petr (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
This thesis is concerned with the use of some optimization methods in harness racing. In the first part of the thesis, both critical path method and critical chain method of the project management are applied to horse racing projects. Then a comparison is made in order to choose a suitable method under various conditions. As a result, we can suggest improvements in horse racing organization. In order to determine optimal number of racing days, races and other aspects within a season, an optimization model is created in the second part of the thesis. Minimization of cost or maximization of number of starts can be chosen as an objective function. Various constraints are considered.
Data envelopment analysis and their aplication
Vejdělková, Dita ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
The work contains an overview of basic data envelopment analysis models (BCC and CCR models), which are subsequently applied to the real data. The models were applied to assessment of efficiency of banks operating within the Czech market.Possible solutions of banks inefficiency are indicated as well.
Stock models and their solution in MS Excel
Olejár, Filip ; Kořenář, Václav (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
The goal of my thesis was to analize special stock models and to create a small aplication in MS Excel. Introduction is devoted to common description of stocks. The main part is focused on special stock models especialy on quantity rabate and model Q system. Application in MS excel is created for this models. In conclusion I verified application on fictive datas.
Models of goal programming and their application
Suchanová, Romana ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Flusserová, Lenka (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to make a model of a goal programming and to show its usage on practical examples. The goal programming is the most frequent method of searching for compromise solution to task of multi-criteria programming and that is why I describe characteristics of tasks of multi-criteria programming and various ways of searching for compromise solution in the second chapter. The third chapter deals with the goal programming. I describe its characteristics and formulate a general model. The fourth chapter treats of the robust goal programming and in the fifth chapter I mention several practical examples solved with the help of the general model.
Problems with application of supply modelling methods
