Selected aspects of Nicholas of Cusa's cosmology and anthropology
Miencil, Petr ; Veverková, Kamila (advisor) ; Dolista, Josef (referee)
Selected aspects of Nicholas of Cusa's cosmology and anthropology This thesis targets selected topics of theology of creation and of man, that is, theological cosmology and anthropology in the work of a Renaissance philosopher, theologian, mathematician and scientist Nicholas of Cusa. I shall first introduce Cusanus' curriculum vitae, it's historical context and basic characteristics of theological anthropology in the work of Cusanus. After this, I shall present in greater detail selected topics of his mathematical theology, including historical context of this specific discourse on God, world and man using language of mathematics. This includes mathematical description of both created world and of theological reality, e.g. God's transcendence and immanence, the place of man in the universe, or the role of universe which has a mediating role between God and man in the works of Cusanus. Mathematical language used by Cusanus is part of a wide stream of Neoplatonist philosophical and theological tradition. Cusanus is inspired not only by pre-Christian philosophical traditions (Pythagorean school, Plotinus' concept of One), but also by Greek patristic writers like Gregory of Nyssa, Maximus the Confessor, Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite. In his concept of "great conjecture" Cusanus presents a model of...
Feminist theology - Selected Issues
Šindelová, Věra ; Kučera, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Dolista, Josef (referee)
If we say "feminist theology", there raise unambiguously depreciating or ridiculous feelings in some people and enthusiasm for something new what represents an alternative for traditional conceptions in others. However, the feminist theology is not anything what you could grasp in a determined form. It is more like a term covering a wide range of ways, opinions, and approaches to theology which have in common only the fact that some of them take into account a "woman" theme.

Bartošová - Bártová, Marcela ; Veverková, Kamila (advisor) ; Dolista, Josef (referee)
1 Kongregace Milosrdných sester sv. Karla Boromejského na pozadí událostí 19., 20. a 21. století Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Boromeo and the Situation in 19th, 20 th and 21th Century Marcela Batrošová - Bártová This introductory chapter is expected to depict the basic information on which this thesis has been written and its main objective. The impetus of this work has been two reasons. Partly, I had done a similar topic during my bachelor's level where I had addressed the inception and development of the congregation of sisters of mercy of the St. Charles of Baromeo in Bohemia. It was from this work, that I got the motivation to extend the study by trying to further explore on the biographical background of four main leaders of this congregation. I look at their activities from different historical phases in Bohemia. This method of literature review from the archive of the congregation I considered as "untouched field". It was a great challenge that I wouldn't let go. This work in its context could not however, capture the whole scene in detail. Therefore the historical episodes to relevant leaders of this congregation are only a summarized view of important events of the period experienced by the relevant personality. The whole work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter looks into...

The primacy of the bishop of Rome - biblical bases, historical development, ecumenical perspective
Vichlenda, Pavel ; Dolista, Josef (referee)
The primacy of the bishop of Rome is an ongoing point of contention in the ecclesiologies of different Christian denominations. Some see it as one of the main causes of Christianity's historical divisions and as a major obstacle to its possible reunification in the future. On the other hand, there are voices that allow for an understanding of the Roman bishop's ministry as a ministry to Christian unity. The first part of the work gives a detailed analysis of Bible passages invoked by both supporters and opponents of Rome's primacy, which evolved in the course of history. This historical evolution is the focus of the second part of the work, attempting to map the most important milestones in the history of the Roman bishop's office, which have shaped both its own understanding of itself and its understanding in the external world, ecclesiastical and secular. The concluding part tries to identify the possible ecumenical potential in the idea of the Roman bishop's primacy and sketches how this idea could enrich future directions of ecumenism. The thesis strives to assess the topic as objectively as possible, without being weighed down by denominational considerations. It is the author's earnest conviction that only such an assessment can be found to be historically honest and theologically meaningful....
