Analysis of the problem of the transfer of Germans in the newspapers between 1945-1946

For my diploma thesis I chose the topic: Analysis of the problematics of the expulsion of Germans in the period press of 1945-1946. In the first part of the thesis I will focus on the methodology and the chosen type of analysis. Then, in the theoretical background of my work, I will interpret the development of the relationship between the Czechs and the Germans, I will try to describe in detail when the first conflicts between the two nations began. In addition, I will deal with the expulsion of the Germans as such, as well as its phases, taking into account the establishment of the system of internment camps, the decrees of the president of the republic and the views of both nations on the issue. In the last chapter I will deal with the analysis of the press from 1945-1946. My aim will then be to describe the discourse of post-war Czechoslovakia regarding the expulsion of Germans, the attitude of the powers on an international scale, but also the visions of the future Czechoslovak Republic, as it was established by then political representation.

Different Mentality as a basis of international conflicts. The case of escalation relations between Russia and the EU in 2008 - 2018.

Since 2008 with the Russo-Georgian war we observe the gradual deterioration of relations between Russia and the European Union which achieves its apogee during the Ukrainian crisis and the annexation of Crimea. The cultural approach is to be applied for understanding and exploration of the conflict: its reasons and mechanism. The work is aimed to define conflicting beliefs and values, considering them on a cultural basis. The current escalation of relationships is reviewed as a cultural conflict, the author claims different mentality as one of the influential factors and possible dimensions of conflict analysis. This work also points out internal cultural mechanisms and features provoking aggressive external policy and considers cultural identity as a container of ideas which justify and originate opposition and conflict with other cultures. This work is an attempt to introduce a concept of an individual's mentality, to link personal and group mentality and find out how cultural meaning content influences on formation of a personal mindset - a system of personal beliefs and values. Transmedia Storytelling & Amnesty International In the Czech Republic and the UK, 1993-2003

1 Abstract Since the 1990s, two parallel international phenomena have occurred: the growth of digital communications and the growth of the non-profit sector. The latter growth has taken place globally, but is acutely visible in the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic, the 1990s posed an interesting challenge for the growth of non-profit organisations after the fall of Communism. One communications practice which has been utilised in business, journalism and the media is transmedia storytelling, though its application has been lacking in the non- profit sector. Through the utilisation of SWOT analysis methodology, this master's thesis will see this practice extrapolated to the non-profit sector in an exploratory case study of Amnesty International groups at various levels in both the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom. From this, the work hopes to achieve a better understanding of how transmedia storytelling practices could aid an international non-profit organisation, such as Amnesty International, in the effectivity of its agenda setting and resource mobilisation - thus eliminating discrepancies between regions in campaigning and fundraising. Image of the enemy in the discourse of security forces

The "internal enemy" was a formal term heavily represented in the language of the State Security (a secret service of the Czechoslovak Republic and Czechoslovak Socialist Republic), denoting a specified category of opponents to the then regime. The State Security's task was to protect the socialist and social system by fighting the external and internal enemies, with the security forces having been the authorities deciding who met the criteria. The thesis entitled "The Internal Enemy Image in the Discourse of Security Forces" aims to find out how the discourse of the State Security defined the term "internal enemy". The thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical parts. The empirical part applies the qualitative analysis of the discourse to search for the characteristic of the term "internal enemy". All of the texts analysed in the thesis come from the Security Services Archive, administering relevant files of the era, and date back to the 1950s-1980s.

Women's National Council, Advocate for the Emancipation of Women

Women's National Council, Advocate for the Emancipation of Women Abstract This thesis examines the work of the Women's National Council, which operated between 1923 and 1942 and was the largest feminist organization in interwar Czechoslovakia. It shows how the Council functioned and what activities it focused on. The thesis also explores the Council's goals and how it achieved them. Its primary goal was gender equality, as stated in the Czechoslovak Constitution of 1920. The most effective way to bring this about was to understand the country's legal framework. To that end, the Council carefully examined existing laws and proposed amendments when those laws or passages within them were found to disadvantage or discriminate against women. The Council would then appeal to the legislature to consider its proposals and shape them into law. In this way, the Council changed some very significant laws, making their application more equitable. The Council was active in other areas, too. It held lectures, organized cultural events, and educated women. Founded by Františka Plamínková, a renowned feminist and advocate for suffrage whose life was forcibly taken during World War II, the Council would certainly not have had nearly such success without her.
