Summary: The bachelor thesis deals with the anti-Semitic journals Vlajka and Národní republika between the years 1933 and 1938. It focuses on the negative stereotypes of Jews and forms of their depiction and evaluation (expressive style, allusiveness, generalization, escalation of contrasts, comparison with animals etc.). The bachelor thesis follows and describes the development of anti-Semitic stereotypes in the above mentioned period in relation with Nazi movement in Germany. The diploma thesis deals with the depiction of different national identities (Czechs, Germans, Jews and Poles) and their conflicts in the František Sokol Tůma's novels V záři milionů and Na kresách. The thesis focuses on the issue of nationalism in Ostrava Region and Těšín Region and on the way it affects the literary depiction of "others" and "foreigners". Another important part of the thesis deals with the specific setting of language frontiers and its influence on literary images of characters of different nationalities.
