Design and analysis of permanent magnet synchronous machines
Blaha, Jan ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
Characteristics of synchronous machines with permanent magnets depend among others on geometric layout of the machine section. Unlike EC motors, where rectangular arrangement of quantities is suitable, these machines require sinusoidal behaviour. Specific forming of individual machine parts is partially derived from this requirement. This thesis deals with design of such machines, including various geometrical modifications of their sections and examination of influence of those modifications. The thesis includes also analytical calculation procedure of machine parameters as well as verification of final characteristics using the finite element method. It results in a combination of various design methods. FEMM, Maxwell RMxprt and Maxwell 2D Transient Analysis programs were used for verification. Individual modifications of machine geometries are applied to machines with concentrated windings with different ratio of number of slots and poles, and differences between machines and results of individual methods are compared.

Design of permanent magnet synchronous machine
Blaha, Jan ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
Nowadays in the area of drives, classical direct current machines are replaced for reason of low efficiency and low service life their frictional part by synchronous permanent magnet machines, among that belongs brushless or electronically commutated machines. This machines provide benefits of fine and effective regulation with no limits incurrenced by mechanical parts. Within this work, introduction with properties and construction of various types synchronous machines witch permanent magnets are performed, further the analytical calculation of design are made with effort to the best configuration for requisite characteristics. This design is compared with simulation made by computer technique and in the next step modifications of individual parts and choosen parameters for maximizing efficiency and minimizing volume are made. Comparison of success changes in design is made by simulation in program RMXprt again and the final machine is compared with original design, benefits of changes within efficiency and with considering of quantity used material are evaluated and his charakteristics are checked by Finite Element Method.

Use of rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) in perioperative medicine and its comparison with standard coagulation testing (PT, aPTT)
Jonáš, Jakub ; Durila, Miroslav (advisor) ; Vaněk, Tomáš (referee) ; Bláha, Jan (referee)
Assessment of the hemostasis is one of the basic components of patient care during the perioperative period. Coagulation tests, including prothrombin and activated partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen concentration, and platelet count, are standard in hemostasis testing. However, the method of their evaluation and the time availability of their results are not satisfactory, especially in the case of the life-threatening bleeding. For this reason, rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM) as a viscoelastic method appears to be more promising. The aim of the first part of this work was to verify whether the relevant ROTEM results are more available in time than the results of standard laboratory tests in conditions of our facility. The correlation of comparable ROTEM parameters and standard coagulation tests was evaluated in the second part of the work. Then, the impact of the hemostasis assessment using ROTEM on the reduction of transfusion products used before invasive and surgical procedures was evaluated. Finally, it was also determined whether the implementation of ROTEM in the management of the perioperative bleeding influences the blood loss, consumption of transfusion products and length of hospital stay. The results of this work confirm that the evaluation of hemostasis using ROTEM is significantly...
Students' successfulness and strategies when working with a map and factors affecting them
Havelková, Lenka ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Knecht, Petr (referee) ; Bláha, Jan Daniel (referee)
Nowadays, information is increasingly presented in the form of various graphic materials. One of the key means of information visualisation is a map. Maps are complex representations and it is necessary to comprehend several cartographic concepts and to acquire skills and strategies for their efficient use. For this reason, it is important to give maps sufficient attention in the course of education. For the education to be of high quality, it is fundamental to understand the process of the map use and factors affecting this process and its successfulness. Therefore, the general purpose of the dissertation thesis is to develop this understanding. Specifically, the thesis has four main aims. One of them is to identify a map skill level of Czech students while using thematic maps since the popularity of thematic maps is increasing together with the number of cartographic insufficiencies they contain. These insufficiencies can inter alia cause a formation of misconceptions both about the maps and phenomena and regions they display. The second main aim is to identify and describe strategies that students choose to solve tasks which require the use of a thematic map. Additionally, the sub-aim is to understand the influence of chosen factors on the level of map skills as well as on choice and efficiency...
Adenomyosis and uterine fibroids: treatment and impact on fertility
Hlinecká, Kristýna ; Bláha, Jan (advisor) ; Pilka, Radovan (referee) ; Hudeček, Robert (referee)
Introduction In times of postponing the first pregnancy into the fourth or even fifth decade, there is a growing demand for fertility-saving procedures for these uterine diseases. As women age, fertility generally declines. The etiology of both diseases, as well as their relationship to infertility, remains uncertain. The prevalence of fibroids and adenomyosis is around 30 and 20 %. Treatment methods vary from pharmacological to surgical. In this study, we tried to compare two groups of patients with different types of fertility-sparing uterine surgeries and evaluate their reproductive outcomes. While myomectomy (the control group) can be considered a well-established procedure with standardized surgical steps and predictable fertility outcomes, resection of severe adenomyosis represents a newer and more controversial alternative to conservative therapy. Methods Patients of reproductive age with focal or diffuse adenomyosis who are planning pregnancy were included in the study. The diagnosis was performed ultrasonographically. Between 2004 and 2019, a total of 110 women underwent laparoscopic or open uterus-sparing surgery for clinically significant uterine adenomyosis (group A), diffuse adenomyosis (group AD), or fibroids (group B). Results Two groups of women who underwent different...
