Specifics of trading electricity in the EU

Electrical energy is a specific commodity. Energy market is specific as well. The thesis deals with these specifics. It describes the structure of the market, its participants and the process of the European energy market liberalization and integration. Furthermore, it deals with execution and settlement of trades, and risk management. In the end a case study devoted to the scandal of US energy giant Enron is presented.

The possibilities of integration of the European electricity market: the region of Central Europe

The paper deals with the integration of the European electricity market, particularly the daily market in Central Europe. The first part focuses on the description of market participants, the process unbundlig and types of electricity markets. The next section is devoted to the project of a single Czech-Slovak-Hungarian market and its further expansion of the Polish and Romanian market. Finally, the work ends with an analysis of selected problems related to the integration of European markets.
