Refrigeration systems in the food industry
Dvořák, Josef ; Katolický, Jaroslav (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis is aimed at refrigeration systems in the industry which are used mainly in the food industry. Here are described individual parts that are refrigeration systems assembled. The work also contains summary of the ways you can make use of waste heat and also factors that have impact on economy of operation. The aim of work is to describe the basic analysis of thermodynamic cycles in the refrigeration systems which are displayed on the illustrative diagrams.
Trends in the development of hybrid vehicles
Ďurica, Matej ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to make brief research in the hybrid automotive department, focused on the last ten years of development. The first part describes the categories of hybrid vehicles with an emphasis on the development of accumulators and related technology. An important part is the advantages and disadvantages of systems and drives. The second part deals with the future of hybrid drives, applications mainly in heavy industry, and the possibilities of changing "heavy" fossil fuels with "greener" alternatives. At the end of the work is the evaluation of the impact of the COVID crisis on the automotive industry.
A demonstration lab for building ventilation
Kundrát, Roman ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
Objective of this thesis is the design of ventilation system for demonstration laboratory. Based on literature studies, experience and advice of experts is at work introduced the concept of design of ventilation equipment for laboratory, which will serve to demonstrate the air inlet into the room using different diffusers. Introduction of distribution elements for ventilation, priors the actual design of laboratory.
Airflow inside of a passenger car
Bělka, Miloslav ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with hearting, air-conditioning, air distribution and airflow in a cabin of a passenger car. Ventilation of the cabin is needed for acceptable level of indoor air quality. The air supplied into the cabin is conditioned by heating or air conditioning system in order to achieve an appropriate level of thermal comfort of the passengers. Various arrangements of automotive heating and air-conditioning systems are described in the thesis. The thesis also includes the description and results of a set of measurements of air temperatures and air velocities inside of a passenger car cabin.
Emission standards for IC-engine vehicles and emission test systems
Náhlík, Tomáš ; Pech, Ondřej (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of emission standards and emission measurements with contemporary motor vehicles. Introduction acquaints reader with the reason it is actually necessary to address this issue and what are the main negative components of emissions by motor vehicles. Effects of such components on human health and the environment are also included. List of historic and of course current emission standards both from within the European Union and globally follows. The thesis concludes with an overview of analytic methods, tests and test techniques focused on emissions by motor vehicles.
Comparison of Hybrid Powertrain Topologies in Daily Commuting Regime
Ušiak, Michal ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Vondrák, Adam (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with modelling of various architectures of hybrid powertrains for three vehicle sizes in GT-SUITE and compares them in daily commuting operating mode. On top of making of the hybrid vehicle simulation models, control algorithms had to be created to manage the energy split between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor for each of the architectures. Routes to work and back were logged using the GPS and postprocessed to obtain the speed and the road grade profiles. Resulting data was used as an input in simulations of daily commuting. To compare all hybrid powertrain architectures, fuel economy and electricity consumption were evaluated for WLTP and daily commuting operating modes. Finally, the environmental impact of each topology was assessed based on an estimation of corresponding well-to-wheel emissions.
Supercharging of internal combustion engines
Vrána, Jan ; Jedelský, Jan (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
In supercharging are applied mainly two ways - turbocharging or charging using a mechanical compressor. The aim of thesis was to compare the ideal cycles of internal combustion engines with ideal cycle of supercharged engine, write down the main problems of supercharging, especially the border of self-ignition of fuel and detonation ignition, advantages and disadvantages of different methods of supercharging and its effect on engine efficiency. Further, there are given basic construction designs of turbochargers and air coolers and some special methods of supercharging and cooling.
Earth heat sources for heat pumps – flat collectors
Houdek, Milan ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Jaroš, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to summarize the types of flat collectors and to compare them with the other sources of heat for heat pumps from the investment standpoint. Then to compare this kind of heating with the other kinds of heat sources for households in light of investment and operation costs. Finally, to find out usability of this heating source based on above-mentioned criterions.
The electric car as part of a smart home
Peichl, Ondřej ; Ušiak, Michal (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This thesis provides an overview of technologies that can be a part of an electric car. These technologies include Vehicle to Grid, Vehicle to Building, Vehicle to Home, etc. The principle, properties, possibilities of development and integration in the Czech Republic and in the world will be described for these technologies. The second part of the thesis will deal with the connection of an electric car to a smart home and its cooperation with other components of the smart home, such as home photovoltaic power plant, control system or wallbox. At the end of the thesis is designed a specific smart house, which was calculated the consumption of electricity for the household, for the electric car and also how much of this consumption can cover the home photovoltaic power plant.
Thermodynamics of ideal gases in Matlab
Zábojník, Jakub ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
In terms of bachelor’s thesis a toolbox of functions for basic computing in thermodynamics with ideal gases and their mixtures was built in environment of computer program MATLAB. Source code of these functions and their description are parts of this thesis. Among others fundamental characteristics of thermodynamic values and terms on which the creation of functions was built, and instruction for calling of functions are mentioned here. Functions in toolbox imaginary are divided to some groups. This dividing is results from principle of thermodynamic calculation. Functions from two neighbouring groups are directly tied together. For lucidity of function sequences and for functions usage and toolbox explanation the examples of using functions examples of functions usage in specific thermodynamic calculations.
