Evaluation of fast-growing poplar in Doubravice

This work is focused on fast-growing trees, particularly in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. The introduction explains some concepts, biomass, its distribution and ways of energy recovery and environmental aspects of planting fast-growing trees. Furthermore, this work analyses the present legislation regulating the business. The main part is to perform measurements on specific selected plantation in the eastern part of the Czech Republic specifically in the village Doubravice. The measured results are compared with the end results of other authors who have conducted similar research.

This bachelor thesis is especially aimed in describing cultivation of short rotation coppice plantations in the Czech Republic. The thesis also summarizes particular growing technology and it brings overview of primary important findings in the field of coppice cultivation. There is described a suitable plantation site selection as well as the plantation liquidation. Consequently, the overview of willow and poplar clones (and species) is provided and their environmental demands. A brief history of short rotation forestry is added, where the most productive species are described. As a benchmark, the comparison between Swedish and Czech coppice plantation is provided. In the thesis, there are introduced the landscape aspects with a potential impacts in terms of agro-ecological aspects.
Energy production and use of fast growing trees

This bachelor thesis is aimed at the theme production and energy use fast growing trees and implements a comprehensive energy balance of production of fast growing trees. The first part is aimed at definition, origin, sources, chemical composition, important energy properties of biomass and how to obtain energy from biomass. The next part is aimed at fast growing trees, especially those that are cultivated in the Czech Republic. This part includes history of cultivation, sources and establishment of short rotation plantations in the Czech Republic. The last part is aimed at energy balance of production of fast growing trees at the short rotation plantations and it also includes economic aspect of short rotation plantations.
Surveying Conditions for the Creation of Clusters Making full use of Local Renewable Resources in various Regions

The aim of the thesis is to survey the economic conditions of the establishment, management and other operations of plantations of fast growing trees (FGT). Based on the assessment factors significantly affecting FGT projects and their economic profitability, business success is evaluate. In the theoretical part is processed use of wood biomass and the practical part is compiled on research ,calculation of firewood from FGT and production process of FGT. As a practical example of efficient use of biomass activities of Slovakian company Biomas is described.
