the essence of photography in the digital age
Doubek, Zdeněk ; Holeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Váša, Ondřej (referee)
The diploma thesis solves the question of photography not only from the point of view of a work of art, but as a part of a cultural code. Photography in the digital era has the potential to become a new kind of visual language. From this perspective, the photographic universe reveals several essential questions, which we address here. These questions explore topics such as: historical development of images and text, the difference between traditional images and technical images, the cultural impact of mass production of digital devices and photographs, the essence of photography as a symbol from the point of view of semiotics and logic, the difficulties of deciphering photography, the linguistic aspects of digital photography or the meaning of photography in virtual (public) space. Due to the nature of the monitored topics, the work will address problems mainly related to language, logic, epistemology, human freedom in the context of man/device and marginally also semiotics.

BAUEROVÁ, Denisa
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the idea of midwifery students about the profession of midwife. The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part provides information on the history and development of the midwife profession. The attention is paid to the teaching of midwifery and obstetrics, the current system of education of midwives and the current profession and competencies of midwives. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis was carried out using a qualitative research survey in the form of semi-structured individual interviews. The research group consisted of 9 midwifery students from České Budějovice, Pilsen and Jihlava. After informants approvals, the interviews were recorded on a dictaphone with their consent, literally transcribed and analyzed. To evaluate the data, three categories and six subcategories were determined.Based on the above goal of this thesis, we set one research question. This research question examined the views of midwifery students on the profession of midwife. The research survey on the ideas of midwifery students showed that all the interviewed students did not know what competencies the midwife had before entering the midwifery study program. The research investigation showed that only one informant does not want to practice the profession of midwife. This informant stated that the profession of midwife is very stressful for her. The research also found that only one informant wants to work as a community midwife. Other informants agreed that they do not want to practice the profession of community midwife due to the great responsibility for pregnant women, the fetus, postpartum women or newborns. Only three informants did not mention anything that would not suit them in the profession of midwife. The disadvantages concered to less work with children further excessive stress and twelve-hour shifts in a hospital and irregular work in the maternity ward. Most of the informants agreed that they are not members and do not want to be part of the organization for midwives in the future. During the elaboration of the bachelor's thesis, we obtained the opinions, attitudes and ideas of students regarding the profession of midwife. The findings can be used by applicants for the midwifery study program to obtain information about the profession of midwife. This work could also be used by university teachers who teach midwives to be informed about the attitudes or ideas of midwives.

Simple categorization of mathematical objects: Examining students' decisions
Janda, David ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Simpson, Adrian (referee) ; Klusák, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the decision making process of students in the so-called simple categorization, i.e., decision whether a particular object is or is not an element of a category. This process is examined in the context of categories of mathematical objects. The theoretical part of the thesis presents arguments why the study of simple categorization of mathematical objects is important for mathematics education. These arguments are not only based on the available literature in mathematics education, but also partly draw on historical, mathematical and psychological literature. The practical chapters of the thesis describe the design and piloting of a research tool suitable for this research. The dominant elements of this tool are the measurement of the binary answers (yes / no) of the respondent and of his/her reaction time. This tool is then used in the Main study based on mixed, qualitative-quantitative methodology. It was found that with the help of the proposed tool, while adhering to appropriate methodological rules, it is possible to distinguish different approaches of respondents to categorization. In addition, the basic patterns in the decision-making process of the respondents were described. These are, for instance, differences in the categorization of examples and non-...
The role of supervisors in social service facilities from the perspective of executives
JESTŘÁB, Jakub
This bachelor thesis deals with the expected role of the supervisor in the social services facility. The aim of this thesis was to map the expected role of supervisor from the perspective of senior social service workers with registered services of special regime homes in South Bohemia. The thesis consists of a theoretical and a research part. The first chapter introduces the context of providing social services in accordance with the current legislation. Special space is dedicated to the social service - "home with a special regime" and its target group. Furthermore, the term "helping professions" and their application in social services are discussed. The second chapter of the theoretical part deals with supervision and its conception in social work. In the section on supervision, this process is defined, goals and functions or types and forms are mentioned, the supervisory contract is also added. The section devoted to the supervisor discusses his / her professional competence and personality assumptions. The last third chapter of the theoretical part presents in detail the evaluation criteria of the supervisor in terms of personality qualities, negotiating a supervision contract, ethical and moral aspects, education and professional assumptions, direct management and supervision management, documentation and communication of acquired knowledge. The empirical part examines the expected role of supervisor from the perspective of executives. The main research question was: "What is the expected role of the supervisor in terms of executives?" The following four research questions have been set to answer the main research question: What personality assumptions influence the quality of the supervisor? What qualities should a supervisor meet professionally in terms of education? What do the formalities of supervision optimally look like? What should supervision output look like? The research was carried out by means of a qualitative research stratégy. To collect data, there was chosen the technique of semi-structured interview with senior social service workers with registered services of special regime homes in the South Bohemian Region. The research was conducted in two phases. The first phase was pre-research and the second phase was the research itself. The research sample was compiled using quota selection and consisted of ten informants. The research showed that the communication skills and the ability to empathize with others are positively evaluated in personality assumptions. On the contrary, arrogance, authoritarianism, ridicule, self-centered or impulsive behaviour is undesirable. A male supervisor who has at least a middle age is better accepted. The supervisor should be aware of the fact that he / she has power of supervising and should not deliberately abuse it. In addition, research suggests that if a supervisor is expected to have a proper education, then it should be in the form of a university degree in psychology, social work, andragogy or sociology. Supervisory training is intended to serve the supervisor for higher professionalism and psychotherapeutic training to help him / her work more professionally. It was also found that most of the facilities has a supervisory contract for a period of one year and then mostly prolongs it. In particular, he / she specifies payment terms and confidentiality Furthermore, from the obtained data it can be stated that supervision should be performed every three months in the form of a combination of individual and group supervision. The topics should be primarily working topics, especially at the level of inter-institutional relations. The facility evaluates only the process of supervision and its impact, not the supervisor. The interviews were recorded on a dictaphone, then literally transcribed and processed by the clusthering method. The clusters were then encoded and divided into more general categories.
