Vector Font Rasterization on LCD
Hrušovský, Marek ; Přibyl, Jaroslav (referee) ; Granát, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with sub-pixel vector font representation. It generaly describes representation and rasterization of vector font and shortly compares advantages of vector font against bitmaped font. Including information about sub-pixel font representation on screen type LCD, possibilities and problems that this type of projection produces. It contains implementation description of demonstrational application, which rasterizes font with sub-pixel technology.
Live typeface
Jiříček, Milan ; Špiřík, Jan (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The work describes the theoretical foundations of modern methods of creating new fonts, that is, using information technology, specifically vector programs. It also marginally shows the history of the font, Roman writing, the basic division of its compositions and describes its individual elements. The next part of the project focuses on creating digital fonts and continues with bringing it to live using algorithms and methods that can easily be processed in Matlab programming language. The method of implementation of the bringing the typeface to live is described and presentation of the generated results are then shown in few examples. Attention is also paid to the coordinates system, which is very important to solve geometric transformations, and two-dimensional vector graphics, which are widely used in the design and to render the fonts. Bézier curves and cubic Bézier curves are described in further detail along with vector graphics rasterization. One part of this text describes very important de Casteljau algorithm. The last chapter focuses on implementation in Matlab programming language, the creation of curves, that means single font characters, and the ways of how the algorithm works with transformations. Some sample images showing transformations using different input arguments are displayed in this section as well. There is evaluation of the contribution of this application and the possibilities of further expansion at the end.

Písmová rodina Pagella: rozšíření o arménské písmo
Nazarjanová, Kristina
The bachelor thesis focuses on extending the Pagella font family to include the Armenian alphabet. This study draws inspiration from the Palatino and URW Palladio font families. The font is designed using FontForge software, and the theoretical part of the thesis covers topics such as fonts in the TeX system, the TeX Gyre project, and the comparison of font families. The practical part of the study describes the process of creating the Armenian alphabet in four typefaces - regular, italics, bold, and bold italics - and includes a presentation of the finished fonts. Overall, the thesis aims to contribute to the development of the Pagella font family and advance the design of Armenian typefaces.
Bound and unbound writing on the first grade of elementary school and the pedagogical faculties of universities: Teacher's opinion on the both scripts from the perspective of an experienced practitioner
Romanová, Anna ; Wildová, Radka (advisor) ; Ronková, Jolana (referee)
Bound and unbound writing on the first grade of elementary school and the pedagogical faculties of universities: Teacher's opinion on the both scripts from the perspective of an experienced practitioner The work follows up bound and unbound writing and their percentage representation in the 1st grade of primary schools. It also focuses on the opinions of teachers from practice and their experience during their own studies at pedagogical faculties of universities. In the theoretical part, I define the basic terms. I examine the goals of preparation for teaching writing and the teaching of writing itself and which precedes it, with what a child should bring from attending kindergarten. I present some methods of teaching writing in history and the present, their origin and development of the writing, the creation of bound and unbound writing, the development of the alternative Comenia Script and several others, the characters of the writing and its evaluation. One of the chapters is also devoted to left-handed writing. In the practical part, using a questionnaire, I find out the opinion of primary school teachers and their practical experience. I also find out what reading and writing methodology they graduate through during their studies at the faculties of education, which script they teach the...
Differential analysis of online handwriting versus pen and paper handwriting.
Plaček, Ivo ; Mekyska, Jiří (referee) ; Mucha, Ján (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis presents a basic introduction with the writing and its development, writing disordes, used devices for online writing and their software. It also contains the collected data, which is then analyzed to determine the difference between the tested devices. The main part of the work is devoted to the evaluation of the differences between writing on paper and digitizing tablets, both from the point of view of the differences in individual parameters, and also from the point of view of the influence of the differences in these parameters by the age groups of the respondents and their gender. In the course of the work, a comparison of individual parameters was performed, a T-test was performed between parameters in individual groups created according to the age of the respondents, but also between their genders. Subsequently, a correlation analysis was carried out and, at the end of the work, an evaluation of the results, when differences were found in the speed of writing, its width and the pressure on the pen when writing on individual devices..

Cross-curricular relations between Czech language and art
Hamáčková, Martina ; Pišlová, Simona (advisor) ; Cikánová, Karla (referee)
Intersubjects relations are now more emphasized.I believe that the links between subjects are increasingly applied in lessons at school, supported by Framework Educational Programme, consequently school educational programs. The aim of this work is a summary of common features of the Czech language and art and their application in practice. These two systems are intertwined and connect since ancient time, that is why my goal was to show more specifically how to fill the relationship of these two subjects in the lessons. So I was looking for connections between different subject areas and topics. In the theoretical part of my work,I defined the concept of interdisciplinary relations, and then I described the position of these two subjects in the past and present as well as the areas where students can meet with this relation in their everyday life.In the practical part of my work I was looking for possibilities how to link these two subjects adequately for children.I prepared the structure of lessons in such way, which provides benefits for both subjects.Students worked with literature and communication technologies in a group, alone or with their parents. At the art lessons I was looking for such a topics, which would support the teaching of Czech language.I focused on the preparation of the educational program that...
