The bachelor work deals of sorption of phenol from waste water. In theoretical part the basic characteristic of phenol, their effects and presence in environmental compounds are described. The possibility of removal phenol from waste water in waste water treatment is also described. The adsorption process of removal phenol introduced too. The analysis current adsorbents using in removal phenol from aqueous solutions and characteristic properties are also presented in relation to materials on the base of clay minerals. The experimental part is focused on the possibility of removal phenol from aqueous solution via adsorption mechanism under various pH conditions.
Selective hydrogenation/Oxidation of CVD graphene using AFM
Přikryl, Vojtěch ; Švarc, Vojtěch (referee) ; Bartošík, Miroslav (advisor)
Graphene is a perspective material for utilization in electronics due to its high charge carrier mobility. However, in order to be applicable in practice the bandgap opening is necessary. One way of achieving this is modification of graphene by hydrogenation or oxidation. This work concerns the possibility of using AFM for local hydrogenation/oxidation of graphene depending on the bias voltage between the tip and the sample. The presence of hydrogenation/oxidation was examined by Kelvin probe force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The possibility of oxidation was proved but hydrogenation was not proved.
Biomimetic polymer/graphene layered nanocomposites
Dostalík, Petr ; Ondreáš, František (referee) ; Zbončák, Marek (advisor)
This batchelot thesis deals with preparation of biomimetic polymer/graphene layered nanocomposites. In order to prepare nanocomposites, it was first necessary to prepare a suitable graphene material. The Tour-Marcan method was chosen for its preparation, in which the effect of oxidation time on the structure of the resulting graphene/graphite oxide was investigated. From the result of structural analysis was evaluated, that after 4 hours of oxidation structure of graphite was intercalated, oxygen groups were formed (mainly expoxy groups) and inter-layer spacing increased to form graphite oxide (GO). Extension of oxidation time did not lead to major changes in struture of GO. Nanocomposites were prepareted by solution-casting method. The polar polymer – polyvinyl alcohol (PVAl) was used as a matrix with assumption of strong interaction between GO a PVAl. In order to promote GO intercalation, an ultrasonic dispersant was used in the process of nanocomposite preparation, the effect of which was manifested by an increase in the inter-layer GO distance in nanocomposites. It has been observed that the inter-layer spacing of GO and PVA1 is affected by the concentration of the individual components in the nanocomposites, suggesting a possible modification of the PVA1 crystalline structure. Structural analysis revealed that GO layers in composite were oriented in one direction.
Influence of Inert Atmosphere on Surface Wetting in Lead Free Soldering
Nestrojil, Michal ; Špinka, Jiří (referee) ; Starý, Jiří (advisor)
This master´s thesis dealing with study of influence of inert atmosphere on the wettability of soldered surfaces. The theoretical part is discussed the issue of the soldering, solder joint, oxidation, and inert atmosphere. The glass cover with internal inert gas preheating for the wetting balance testing was prepared in the practical part. With this adjustment were realised tests, in which was examined the effect of the inert gases on the wettability of different materials combination. Further experiments were focused on plasma surface cleaning as possible flux substitution. The evaluation of these experiments were discussed in the end of this master´s thesis. Some of topics were designed for further experiments.
Charge Exchange processes involved in projectile-target interaction at low energy range studied by HS-LEIS
Bábík, Pavel ; Král, Jaroslav (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the charge exchange processes between projectile and target studied by the Low Energy Ion Scattering (LEIS) technique. Basic premise to investigate charge exchange processes is correct cleaning processes and proper settings of experimental instrument Qtac 100 placed in the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) in Brno. Ion fraction expresses neutralization rate of the projectile. The parametr is investigated for clean and oxidized polycrystalline copper. Oxygen presence performs a significant part of reionization of backscattered neutralized projectiles.
Kinetics of benzo[a]pyrene destruction and identification of its products
Ryšavý, Jan ; Kolek, Emil (referee) ; Šimko, Peter (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the study of conditions of benzo[a]pyrene, one of the major contaminant of foods, photodegradation under different conditions (solvents with different polarity, light sources, presence of antioxidants). In another part of the thesis, the degradation process of benzo[a]pyrene at various concentrations was studied, in order to characterise the kinetic aspects of photoinduced degradation. The attempt to identify the products of benzo[a]pyrene photodegradation was performed involving methods of gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass detectors, as well.
Biodegradable bones implants based on iron
Hrabovský, Jan ; Zatloukal, Miroslav (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This work deals with a current topic, which are biodegradable bone implants. These implants seem to be a suitable candidate for temporary fixations, with their gradual decomposition. An important parameter is not only the mechanical properties so that the material can withstand the load, but above all the corrosion properties and the degradation process. This work introduces the physiology of bone, trace elements and also describes current trends in the field of implants. The last part is a theoretical introduction to cross-stage processes. The practical part is focused on the preparation of iron-based samples with various dopants, subsequent annealing and analysis.
