Accompanying patients in hospitals
Zemanová, Radka ; Zimmermannová, Marie (advisor) ; Prokeš, Josef (referee)
The thesis "Counselling the Sick in Hospital" deals with the issue of hospital chaplaincy in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part defines key terms (illness, accompaniment, hospital chaplain), describes the challenges of the sick, addresses the question of their value and the meaning of life during illness, and describes the stages of coping with illness. The theological excursion deals with love from a biblical perspective and concludes with a chapter on the meaning of suffering. The empirical part consists of an analysis of articles on hospital chaplaincy, primarily interviews with chaplains. The topics from the interviews were sorted by frequency into chapters (introducing the service, prejudices, death, covid, etc.), in which chaplains express their opinions from various perspectives, which complement each other, and from which a media image of chaplaincy in the Czech Republic can be assembled. The results of their testimonies are summarized in the conclusion of the thesis.

Čadová, Andrea ; Špíralová, Veronika (advisor) ; Mudra, Roman (referee)
This thesis deals with the nutrition of adult tuberculosis patients. The main goal is to map the dietary habits of tuberculosis patients and also to assess the nutritional requirements of specific tuberculosis patients and to compare it with the actual food intake in a tuberculosis sanatorium. The theoretical part is focused on the history, current epidemiology, clinical presentation of the disease, diagnostic procedure and treatment options. It is also focused mainly on clinical nutrition and the latest nutritional recommendations in relation to tuberculosis disease. For this research, I chose a qualitative approach which was attended by ten adult respondents diagnosed with tuberculosis and treated at the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Sanatorium Janov. The practical part is divided into two subchapters. The first of them is devoted to case reports, where all the basic information about the patients obtained from the medical records is summarized. Recommended total daily energy intake and macronutrients are individually calculated. This total daily energy intake is then compared with the energy intake from the home environment and with the energy intake in the sanatorium. Examples of individual menus are also included. Zásady optimálního odchovu hříbat
Volná, Šárka
The aim of this thesis is to describe the evolution of foals (until the age of two); their anatomy, as well as the state of their mental being. I will outline the behavior of the foal after the birth and the importance of colostrum. Since health plays an important role not only in life of foals, I will introduce some common diseases that can affect the foals, and I will explain not only how to cure them, but primarily how to prevent them. It is necessary to take a good care of foals even if they are completely healthyone should provide them with enough nutrition and vitamins, vaccinate them regularly and deprive them from warms. It is also crucial to train them so that, once mature, they do not surprise us with abundance of strength and energy. The major purpose of this thesis is to find out in what environment and condi-tions foals generally prosper the best.
Prevalence and risk factors of malaria among children under 5 years and the prevention and treatment regimens in the Kitase community of Ghana
Amponsah, Ebo Owusu
The purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence of malaria in children under the age of five living in the Kitase Community in Ghana, as well as possible causes, preventative measures, and therapeutic approaches. The principal goals of the research were accomplished through the use of a hospital-based cross-section design, which required the gathering of primary data from women living in the Kitase township, which is located within the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly in Ghana. For the analysis, we utilised version 16 of the STATA statistical software. The chi-squared test and logistic regression were performed to determine the relationship between malaria incidence and household and environmental characteristics. Findings showed that malaria prevalence among under 5 children was 19.62% with a total of 46.15% with at least occurrence of malaria illness in the past three months. Also, ownership of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) was 77.31%, and its use among 58.46% of mothers. However, Environmental characteristics such as bushes, waste dumpsites, stagnant water, and breeding areas around the house increase the odds of malaria infection by AOR of 1.885, 2.455, 2.197, and 2.060, respectively. Therefore, the study recommends that health authorities in the study area ensure the proper usage of LLINs (mosquito nets) through regular and effective education on preventive measures and ensure that good sanitation is observed in settlements.

Cehová, Beata ; Přibyl, Stanislav (advisor) ; Zimmermannová, Marie (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "Spiritual accompaniment about dying and palliative patients" deals with the spiritual care and approach of a seriously ill patient, is not only his body and social environment but especially his soul. Although modern secularized society is technologically advanced, despite these facts, the spiritual need in our health care system is minimally themed. This is more concerned of palliative care and the care of the dying, where the goal is no longer the cure of the disease, but the treatment of pain, the symptoms of the disease and the accompaniment to a reconciled departure from this world. My work deals with these questions in more detail and clarifies which spiritual approach is possible to calm the patient through believe and how it is possible to mature spiritually even in unmanageable moments.
The Narratives about Jesus' Healing of the Deaf and Blind in the Synoptic Gospels
Jurkulák, Petr ; Ryšková, Mireia (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of healing in the synoptic gospels. Illness and the suffering associated with it is a phenomenon that everyone encounters throughout their lives. We can look at illness and suffering from many different angles, and many scientific disciplines are studying this phenomenon. In my work, attention is focused on the meaning, meaning and perception of the disease from a human and theological point of view. The starting point of the work are excerpts from the synoptic gospels, which deal with the disease and the miraculous healing of the diseases of the human senses. Pericopes are divided according to the types of sensory impairments. Biblical events give us inspiration on how to perceive different life situations in accordance with God's purpose. These are model situations from which we draw lessons and inspiration in our life story. The introduction introduces the concepts of sin, suffering and illness from the perspective of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The next treatise then provides a view of the healing of the sick as a confirmation of the divinity of Jesus and the authenticity of Jesus' teaching. Healing by Jesus' disciples is also mentioned here. The main focus of the work is the exegesis of pericopes, ending with a summary of the main ideas of...
