Archaeobotanical characteristics of plant macroremains of Bronze Age and Iron Age deposits from south Bohemia in settlement and burial contexts

The thesis deals with archaeobotanical analysis and its possible contribution in different types of Bronze Age and Iron Age archaeological contexts. Using this method on selected excavations of the period under study in southern Bohemia, it was possible to capture the species structure of cultivated plants and its development during the studied period. In the context of central Europe, the composition of the plants cultivated in southern Bohemia was closer to the Alpine region in the Early and Middle Bronze Age. In the Late and Final Bronze Age, the composition of the spectrum of cultivated plants in southern Bohemia was distinctive, but closer to the core areas of Bohemia. In the Iron Age, the individual South Bohemian assemblages were different, which was, however, also typical for the Alpine and core areas of Bohemia. However, both of these regions differed from the eastern regions. Archaeobotany made it possible to reconstruct open agricultural landscapes with a high deforestation in the hinterland of hillforts and settlements of the Early and Middle Bronze Age, as well as in the hinterland of model settlements of the Late Bronze Age in the Bechyně region - Hvožďany and Březnice. The deforested landscape was also reflected in the burial on the fringe of the Iron Age settled area in Zahrádka by Český Krumlov. During the period under study the use of plant resources and the economic importance of plant foraging in the hinterland of settlements and around burial sites has been documented. Archaeobotany allowed reconstructing details of the processes related to the deposition of metal hoards in the Bronze Age, processes related to the burial rite and the use of the landscape in the vicinity of the burial sites, as well as processes of waste disposal in the settlements.

Fresco works by Lukáš Vávra in South Bohemia This diploma thesis is devoted to the work of the late Baroque fresco painter, and Vyšší Brod Cistercian, Lukáš Vávra. His artistic legacy has not yet been documented in its entirety, nor has it been examined historically. This thesis is the first effort in this direction. It is based on data drawn mainly from the Historical Archive of the Vyšší Brod Monastery, as well as from other archival sources. Vávra's works are included in this discussion, especially the frescoes in the monasteries of Vyšší Brod and Zlatá Koruna, as well as framed paintings that have been preserved. With the help of relevant respected sources, Vávra's artistic endeavors are then placed in the cultural and historical context of Southern Bohemia. This relates primarily to the Schwarzenberg Dominions in South Bohemia as well as the environment of the South Bohemian Cistercian monasteries in Vyšší Brod and in Zlatá Koruna.

Early medieval sacral architecture in the Písek region- revision and analysis

Písecko is one of the South Bohemian regions where considerable building activity was carried out in the early Middle Ages. At that time, the efforts to colonise the uninhabited and vast forested landscape gave rise to several important cultural centres. The oldest of these emerged at the end of the 12th century in Milevsko. The influential Grand Duke George founded a monastery here, which he filled with a convent of the Premonstratensian Order. There was a workshop at the monastery, which influenced the construction activity of the surrounding area. As a result, a number of rural churches were built in the landscape, the morphology of which is often indicative of the participation of the workshop. Around the middle of the 13th century, another important cultural centre appeared in southern Bohemia, connected with the spread of monarchical power and the founding activities of King Přemysl Otakar II. The founding of the town of Písek and the major expansion of Zvíkov Castle required the construction of another South Bohemian building workshop, referred to in literature as the Písek-Zvíkov workshop. Its influence also reached the area around Milevsko, where the churches analysed and mapped in this thesis are located in the form of a catalogue. It will also include a review of the issue of the so-called Písek-Zvíkov workshop as it was formulated in Czech research more than forty years ago. On the basis of building-historical research and formal analysis of the buildings, the question of the influence of the building workshops should be clarified and an attempt should be made to place the South Bohemian buildings in a corresponding Central European context.

Modelová rekonstrukce zvolené zaniklé obce

The topic of my master's thesis is a model reconstruction of a selected extinct village. The thesis contains two parts, namely the literary part and the practical part. The literary research is divided into four chapters, which are the development of rural settlements, the development of typical structures of rural buildings, buildings in the rural area of southern Bohemia and the factors that influenced the development of buildings in rural areas. The first chapter describes the development of rural settlements until the 15th century, then the development of rural settlements until the 18th century, and finally the development of rural settlements until the 20th century. The second chapter focuses on the typical structures that were used in rural areas, as well as their development. The third chapter contains information about what typical buildings looked like in southern Bohemia and what special elements they had. And finally, the last chapter describes the factors that influenced the development of buildings in rural areas. A very important part of my thesis is the practical part. This part is focused on the already extinct village of Bučina, which is located in Šumava. This village endured a difficult fate when it was almost completely razed to the ground. The work follows the historical development of this village up to its extinction. Subsequently, the current situation is described, with everything that takes place today in the territory of this extinct village and what can be found here. Despite the fact that it is an extinct village, there are many people who have helped to restore life in this place to some extent. An important part of my thesis was also the creation of a 3D model of the building, which was still in the village of Bučina at that time. This model was described in terms of exterior, but also interior.

Compliance with the Law to Free Access to Information in the Conditions of Southern Bohemia

This bachelor's thesis explores how the right to information is practiced in southern Bohemia on the basis of Act No. 106/1999 Coll., on free access to information. The work introduces the theoretical legal basis, which is further applied in the analytical part with the use of the method of mystery shopping, so filing to own requests to information to selected obligated entities, which are Municipal authority of České Budějovice, Municipal authority of Tábor, Municipal authority of Netolice, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Hospital in České Budějovice and Remand jail in České Budějovice. The work also includes an analysis of annual reports from years 2015-2020, where is possible to see the number of applications, appeals, complaints or administrative lawsuits filed against selected obligated entities. Next survey was realised as interviews with two people of selected obligated entities, from who I gained a lot of interesting information. Subsequently, a questionnaire survey was also included to ascertain people's awareness of the right to information and, if any of the respondents had already made a request, where was filed and what it related to. Finally, possible legislative and methodological changes are mentioned that could improve the functioning and application of this law not only in southern Bohemia but in the whole Czech Republic.

Stabilizace venkovských základních škol s malým počtem žáků (okresy Prachatice a Český Krumlov)

Rural primary schools often struggle with a small number of pupils, especially those located in peripheral areas. These schools often face the threat of reducing the number of classes and grades, or even with the threat of complete extinction. Another problem is that these schools are not considered by parents to be of sufficient quality, and that is the reason why they send their children to distant city schools. This bachelor's thesis aims to create a portfolio of topics for preservation, stabilization, and development of rural primary schools with a small number of pupils (including small schools with composite classes), based on an analysis of the literature and interviews with representatives of these schools. The survey finds information about pupils and teachers of primary schools, about the relationship between the primary school and municipality, in which is the primary school located, as well as about the relationship between the primary school and the community of the municipality, and many other problems. A key part of the bachelor's thesis is a set of topics for preservation, stabilization and development of the monitored type of primary schools.

Visitors` Satisfaction in South Bohemia (Czech Canada Tourist Area)

The main goal of the thesis is an identification of factors influencing satisfaction of South Bohemian visitors, particularly in Czech Canada Region, based on a quantitative research. It solves the issue of quality and quantity of a primary and a secondary supply of tourism in the chosen region in terms of demand. The outcome of the thesis is a proposal of measures leading to increasing in the satisfaction of tourism participants in the destination.

Rozšíření a ekologie vatičkovitých hub v jižních Čechách

Tomentelloid fungi, which include the genera Tomentella, Odontia, Polyozellus, Pseudotomentella, Tomentellopsis, and Amaurodon, represent a mainly ectomycorrhizal group from the order Thelephorales (Basidiomycota). They are common in forest ecosystems, however, they form inconspicuous fruitbodies that are mostly hidden under a layer of organic material. For this reason, the distribution and ecological traits of each species are poorly known. This thesis contains a list of tomentelloid species which have been recorded in South Bohemia and a description of their morphological features. Based on data from field sampling and herbarium collections, the distribution of each taxon has been described in the studied area and potential preferences for ectomycorrhizal host trees and habitat have been evaluated. This thesis brings forward the first data on the abundance or rarity of tomentelloid species and their ecology in South Bohemia and will be used for the preparation of a fungal checklist.

Department od Biology, 42 pages. The bachelor's thesis deals with field research of selected localities around České Budějovice. This is a survey of dragonfly communities in six localities. The aim of the work is to obtain basic faunistic information about the order Odonata and about the natural conditions of the studied areas, to obtain an orientation overview of the character of odonatofauna in selected localities and their mutual comparison, but also with published results of other authors and a proposal for the possible didactic use of the rules in primary school teaching.

Accesibility of Canine therapy in Southbohemian Region

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the availability of canistherapy in the South Bohemian Region and compare canis therapy services according to predetermined criteria. The theoretical part explains the concept of canistherapy and presents the development of canistherapy in the world and in the Czech Republic. It describes the various methods and forms of canistherapy. It introduces the preparation for the practice of canistherapy, which begins with a suitably selected dog, its training and ends with passing the canis therapy exam of the entire canistherapy team. The conclusion of the theoretical part points to the use of canistherapy in special pedagogy for pupils with visual, auditory, mental, physical, combined disabilities, for pupils with epilepsy, autism and ADHD. The aim of the practical part is to introduce individual canis therapy organizations and free canis therapists. At the end, the individual canis therapy facilities are recorded and compared in a table according to the criteria. Questionnaire and interview methods are used to achieve the goal. The result of the bachelor thesis is a comprehensive overview of available canis therapy services in the South Bohemian Region.
