Vliv přímých zahraničních investic (FDI) na strukturu a zahraniční obchod ghanské ekonomiky
Yeboah, Evans
This thesis explores the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on Ghana's economy and foreign trade using a multivariate time series approach. The study analyzes data from 1984-2020, employing techniques such as the Johansen coin-tegration test, Vector Error Correction Model (VECM), and Granger causality test. The results suggest that FDI has a positive relationship with the agriculture and service sectors, but a negative effect on manufacturing. In contrast, imports have a positive relationship with agriculture and service sectors, but a negative effect on manufacturing. Export has a negative effect on agriculture and service sectors, but a positive impact on manufacturing. The Johansen test shows a positive relationship between FDI and exports and a negative relationship between FDI and imports. The study also suggests that FDI and exports positively impact economic growth, while imports harm it. The VECM analysis shows a long-run interdependency among agriculture, manufacturing, services, FDI, exports, and imports. The Granger causality test reveals a unidirectional short-term relationship between agriculture and service sectors and explanatory variables (FDI, exports, and imports), but no short-term causality between manufacturing and FDI, exports, and imports. The study recommends that Ghana's government should focus on FDI and exports to boost economic growth.

Subunit c of mammalian F1Fo ATP synthase - from molecular mechanisms of assembly to potential therapies
Marković, Aleksandra ; Mráček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Trnka, Jan (referee) ; Rohlena, Jakub (referee)
Mammalian F1Fo ATP synthase plays a crucial role in ATP production through the process of oxidative phosphorylation. Assembly of this multisubunit protein complex requires specific assembly factors. Notably, the assembling of subunit c in mammals requires several factors, yet despite decades of research, the import of subunit c, its incorporation into the inner mitochondrial membrane, and the assembly of monomers towards octameric c-ring remain enigmatic. To shed new light on this process, we first screened for interacting partners of subunit c using a mass spectrometry-based approach. Our screen identified three proteins as the most prominent interactors of subunit c- TMEM70, TMEM242, and c15orf61, which we subsequently characterized. For the initial characterization of the TMEM242 function, we generated both knockdown and knockout HEK293 models. TMEM242 knockdown led to impaired biogenesis and decreased levels of assembled ATP synthase without affecting the content of other OXPHOS complexes. On the contrary, complete deficiency of TMEM242 lead also to the downregulation of complexes I and IV, which indicates that the primary target of TMEM242 is ATP synthase. While other studies suggested that both TMEM242 and TMEM70 interact with mitochondria complex I intermediate assembly (MCIA), our...
Batch Processing of Genealogical Data
Janda, Adam ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kočí, Radek (advisor)
This thesis describes the design, development, and implementation of batch processing of parish records using a template system. The batch processing of records is an extension of the DEMoS project, which deals with the digitization of historical parish records. The connection of the designed module to the web interface brings the possibility of bulk addition of new records or batch editing. Part of the solution is data entry, the extraction of parish data into a CSV file stored in the database. A total of 15 templates were designed for each type of parish record (birth, death, and marriage records). By modifying or expanding these templates, batch processing can be adapted to the architectural change in the database structure due to the incompleteness of parish register formats.

Ekonomický vplyv Číny v Latinskej Amerike
Čech, Michal
The bachelor's thesis deals with China's current influence in Latin American countries. Closer, however, is the work focused on the area of mining of mineral resources, with which the Chinese presence is often associated. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of mutual trade relations, but also the influence of China's influence in the region. We also deal with direct foreign investments and the export market in our work. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out what is the economic importance of China for Latin America, especially what is the role of Chinese trade and Chinese investments for the economy of Latin American countries. As attributes, we set exports and investments in selected Latin American countries, specifically in Chile, Mexico and Peru. The presented work consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, we focus on the research of professional literature through which we will process theoretical knowledge about the foreign-political relations of China and Latin America. Based on the available literature, we will theoretically process the economic relations between China and Latin America, which we will apply to the empirical part. The empirical part of the work will consist of case studies of selected Latin American countries, namely Chile, Mexico and Peru. The attributes of the comparison that will be described in the thesis within the mentioned countries are export and foreign investments.
Návrh standardu plemene králíka Miniature Lop a porovnání metod šlechtění
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Monika
The main topic of this diploma thesis is the rabbit breed Miniature Lop, which is not yet recognized in the Czech Republic. Miniature Lop was bred in Great Britain, where the breed standard was accepted in 1994. Standard breeds have been also accepted by other European countries. The aim of this work was to design a breeding standard to correspond foreign standards. Another goal was to evaluate the situation of this breed in the Czech Republic and describe the various breeding methods. The data were processed through the Survio online questionnaire and through the creation of tables in MS Excel, which were sent to a total of ten Czech breeders. Graphs and tables were made in Apple Numbers. The first import of the Miniature Lop breed from Great Britain took place in 2017. The number of breeders dedicated to this breed is increasing. At the same time, the number of imported individuals to the Czech Republic is growing. As by March 31, 2022, a total of 86 individuals had been imported from abroad. A total of 26 animals were marked with the B.R.C. ring. The majority of individuals, a total of 62 %, came from Great Britain. Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Austria followed. The individuals for whom the name of the original breeder was mentioned came from a total of 30 different foreign breeders. The rabbits were imported in a total of 51 colours. The most widely imported colour was Seal Point. Most imported individuals weighed in the range of 1,400-1,500 g. The weight of the does was on average higher, ranging from 1,300 to 1,900 g. Bucks usually weighed between 1,200-1,600 g. Additional data were found from a total of 65 litters of 268 kittens on March 1, 2022. The average number of kittens in the litter was 4.12. The average proportion of peanuts in the litter was 10.07 %. Of the total number of kittens, including peanuts, 63.80 % survived to weaning. The deaths of kittens during birth to weaning occurred in 26.11 %. Almost a quarter of all kittens were used by other breeders of the Czech Republic. A total of 2.23% of kittens were exported to foreign breeders. A breed standard was designed and individual breeding methods were described.
Regimes of import of live animals into the Czech Republic
PAŘÍZEK, Matouš
This bachelor thesis explores the posibble regimes of import of live animals into the territory of Chech republic. The main objectives of the thesis is to analyse the possibilities of international trade in live animals and to analyze the possibility of import regimes for live animals in the Czech Republic with practical examples of imports. The subgoals were analysis of the role of customs administration and veterinary administration in international trade in live animals, specifically in imports into the territory of the Czech republic. Furthermore, a detailed analysis of the regulation of international trade in animals, which focuses mostly on legislation, laws and decrees of the European Union and the Czech Republic. The next goal was to investigate the process of transport of live animals with an impact on their health, ie. analysis of transport rules and obligations, how live animals can be exported / imported, what methods are used to ensure safe transport and how means of transport should be equipped. The last partial goal was the analysis of current trends in international trade in animals, specifically in imports to the Czech Republic. The methods of the project are literary research, structured guided interviews, and comparison. Given all the methods the results are varied. All the regimes of import of live animals into Czech republic have very similiar techniques in some aspects of import, such as techniques of tranport, but are also varied in many other aspects, such as the number of imported animals.
