Sharing pictures of children by their parents on social media

This theoretical based bachelors theses is focused on phenomenon of sharing pictures of children online by their parents, so called sharenting (especially on Facebook or Instagram). There are risks connected to this kind of sharing, such as formation of a digital footprint, which could include sensitive information, details from personal life or other problematic information, which would never be shared by children it concerns. This work attempts to capture the consequences this sharing could have for a life of a child outside of online world as well as for their online presence. All these phenomena will be described in theory but also by a legal perspective. Considering the terms and conditions of use published by META or other legal documents, this work attempts to answer following questions: To what extend is sharing this information unsafe? Can the child seek legal defence? And what legal boundaries are there for this kind of sharing? By analysing and interpreting academic and other relevant texts, together with legislation and jurisdiction, this work presents a conclusion, that such sharing could be a violation of privacy of a child, which would go hand in hand with violation of obligatory care for the child deriving from parental responsibility. Big Social Data and the Study of Celebrity Fandom

This thesis provides a novel view of celebrity fandom through the lens of big social data, while at the same time exploring the opportunities and challenges of using digital traces from social media for sociological research. The first chapter provides a sociological framing of celebrity, a short, joint history of celebrity and the media, and a discussion of the revolutionary role that social media and its platforms played in celebrity culture. Finally, it attempts to bridge theories related to celebrity's role in society with research on "lifestyle politics", "polarization", "taste cultures" and "lifestyle enclaves". The second chapter serves as an introduction into big social data and digital trace data. First as a socio-technological phenomenon, then as a research tool. It covers its historical and current availability and discusses its epistemological and practical opportunities, limits and dangers. Finally, it introduces Facebook pagelikes as a valuable source of information on lifestyle politics. Chapter three is an exploration of Facebook digital traces of 90k celebrity followers. Obtaining digital evidence for criminal proceedings Abstract The present diploma thesis analyses the criminal law procedural instruments that can be employed by the law enforcement authorities of the Czech Republic in obtaining digital evidence, mainly focusing on Act No. 141/1961 Coll., the Criminal Procedure Code. The first chapter focuses on analysing the digital evidence concept, considering various approaches to its definition. Consecutively, the term is defined for the purposes of the present thesis, and the chapter concludes with a description of the digital footprint attributes. The second chapter addresses international regulations, namely the Convention on Cybercrime, with regard to the obtaining instruments its signatories are obliged to implement in their legislation. Moreover, the chapter also analyses how the Czech Republic has fulfilled its implementation obligations. The focus of the thesis represents the analysis of the national legislation, discussing the individual procedural instruments used by law enforcement agencies and their pitfalls. Sharenting - Oversharing Information about Children by their Parents

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of Sharenting - excessive sharing of information about children by their parents. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis is further elaborated in five chapters, which deal with risky behaviour, family, currently the most used social networks, the legal concept of sharenting and sharenting itself. The practical part is mentioning the goals and hypotheses, which were processed using a quantitative type of research, the questionnaire technique. The research sample included a total of 221 respondents, which consisted of parents who are active on social networks and young people (future parents) aged 18 to 26 years. The selection of respondents was targeted, using the snowball method. From the results of this bachelor's thesis, we found that parents know the risks associated with sharing private information, photos, videos on the Internet and social networks. We also found that parents share this information to create virtual family albums, by sharing memories with distant relatives and friends. Parents do not ask their children for approval to share photos, videos, etc. on social networks. When evaluating the questionnaires, we received different opinions from potential future parents, who mostly answered negatively to the sharing of information about children on the Internet. The results of this bachelor thesis can be the basis for further discussion on this issue. Furthermore, they can be an incentive for various educational and awareness programs not only for parents but also for the general public.

The right to be forgotten on the internet

Diploma thesis The Right to be Forgotten on the Internet applies to the functions of Internet search engines, search algorithms and the impact of the digital footprint that on the Internet user essentially leaves. With this issue is, on the one hand, inseparably linked the protection of personal data in the online environment, on the other hand the constitutionally enshrined right to information and other fundamental rights. Not ignored should be also the risk of censorship of the Internet. An application of the right to be forgotten adds a whole new dimension to this problems. The right to be forgotten is inferred from the judgment of the European Court of Justice on 13 May 2014 in the case Costeja versus Google Spain, where an Internet user named Mario Costeja Gonzáles first succeeded with a request of removal of unflattering information about himself from results of the search engine Google. Thus a reform precedent will have a big impact on seeking information on the Internet in the future, since the pronouncement of the judgment about the removal of his personal data may ask any European Internet user. Free speech on the Internet and censorship as a way to protectusers' privacy

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide a complex analysis of free speech on the internet, violation of this right and ways how to protect own privacy in cyberspace. It is based on a theoretical exploration of protection of free speech, right to privacy and collision of these rights. Based on this theoretical analysis this thesis seeks to provide a comprehensive analysis of the cyberspace as a space enabling free speech as well as violating the right to privacy. This thesis also explores the responsiveness of the Internet to the users' demands on privacy, violations of the right to freedom of expression, and censorship of the Internet, as demonstrated by the case studies of countries taking these steps. This is followed by a research of ways to circumvent Internet censorship, including the possibility of anonymity on the Internet. Anonymity is also discussed as a tool to protect privacy as well as source of dangers.

Analysis of user behavior due to the storing of digital footprints without knowledge of the user

Digital footprint designates data left behind a user movement in the digital environment or with the interaction with it. We distinguish active and passive digital footprint, together creating the digital identity of a user. The biggest benefit of the digital footprint for a user is the personalization of internet content. It also creates the reputation of a user on the internet. Other parties can utilize a digital footprint for purposes of marketing, science, HR research, and criminology. Digitial footprint can be actively affected and limited by users and different strategies for managing it exists. The aim of this thesis is to analyze user behavior of students in digital environment and their knowledge of digital footprint. It's focused on the relation between users knowledge about digital footprint existence and his real behavior. To fulfill the main purpose of the thesis researched questions are stated and the strategies of user behavior and managing their data are investigated afterwards. The knowledge of students and their real behavior with an accent on their motivation and reasons are determined in semi structured interviews. The relation between knowledge and real behavior has been found, as well as a strong influence of this relation on a user behavior strategy online.
