Günter Grass - Politic of iterature

The thesis deals with prose Peeling the onion written by a German author Günter Grass and with responses to this novel. Controversial moments of Grass's life which were never reported before are revealed in this commemorative literary work. It has evoked very contradictory reactions worldwide. The object of the thesis is to monitor the work in a broader social context and to reveal its controversy through the public reactions. Attention is also given to the literary analysis of the commemorative book. The aim of the thesis is to provide a very comprehensive view on this novel of Günther Grass, a political writer.
Karbusický's semiotics of music

This work retrieves an conception of musical semantics in the work of Vladimír Karbusický. It consists of three parts. The first one focused on Karbusický's works Beethovenův list "An die unsterbliche Geliebte" a jeho hudební dílo [Beehtoven's letter "An die unsterbliche Geliebte" and his musical work] from the year 1969 and Podstata umění [The essence of art] published in the same year, which presents characteristics of four components of arts situated into an quadripolar ontological model of arts. This model is motivated by the structuralism of Jan Mukařovský and by an asemantic nature of musical forms. The poles of this model represent a subject, an object, a material and a society, and create a web of relations between each other. This way they create a field of interaction governed by dynamical and energetic forces. The respective components arise from the relation of a subject to the other poles, and they are divided into semantic and asemantic ones. Among the semantic components we put a picture, an expression and a symbol; the asemantic components are defined by a game and a construction. Cultural history of selected segments of Everyday Life. Cult of Absinth: Absinth in culture

In the introduction the reader is introduced to the brief facts related to the history of absinthe, to what absinthe really is and what it means for many people today. The author mentions several myths with which he argues and notes that it is very likely they have contributed to current popularity of the absinthe. In the History section the readers are given the opportunity to find out where absinthe comes from and how the geographical distribution of this beverage proceeded, as well as its subsequent fall, which ended with a Europe-wide ban. At the end of this passage the latest development regarding the absinthe is mentioned. The description of its redistribution due to termination of the ban in almost all countries it was first established in can be found here as well. Next section is dedicated to the actual form of absinthe. The author states which essentials should be present in production of the absinthe and how new absinthes are born today from vintage bottles that remember the pre-ban era. The consumer has the opportunity to taste the exact replicas of the drinks produced in the 19th century. Perception of art in czech culture at the turn of the 19. and 20. century

This thesis deals with visual art and its reflection in Czech culture at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. It describes the emergence of modern art and how it responded to the public and critics. The situation in the Czech countries is compared with the perception of art in France, in the U. S. and in Japan. Biographies of Czech artists who lived at the time - Max Švabinský and Alphonse Mucha, were used as the case studies. Finally, the work concerns with the perception of art from perspective of theory. The work aims to contribute to the phenomenon of perception of art in Czech culture and society in a particular socio-cultural context.

How does the space impact us and how do we influence it. This kinds of view are hold out with people in age of adolescent. I follow up with my bachelor work which was concerned with this age group in course of study in subculture graffiti and street art which I use now for examples and possible influnces on graphic design and illustration. I continue with refilling questionnaire and didactics project, partly practically maked in practice, after theory. The thesis entitled Sacred space in the era of Gothic thinking, art and architecture deals with a certain specification of the sacred space, the function and meaning of the medieval church, events leading to the beginnings of Gothic art which left its imprint on the general medieval art and whose influence radiates from the 12th century and ends in the 15th century An essential part of the text is dedicated to using the given rules in the sacred space of the castle Karlstein.
Painted curtains of Czech provenance in the last quarter of the 19th century

Main task of this work is to present painted curtains of the Czech provenance and situated on the Czech territory during last quarter of th 19th century. At the beginning I will present the development of theater curtains in general. There will be also described Czech painted curtains from the end of 18th and 1st half of the 19th century and the foreign examples. Subsequently will be analyzed the curtains of the national Czech and German theaters ant there will be made comparison between these two types. 1 Abstract: This bachelor's thesis proposes a holistic description of the culture and art in the Pavlovian period. The first part focuses on the first men and cultures in Europe while taking into account the natural conditions these people had to face and the advanced technologies they used. The second part deals with different types of settlements, their structure and the history of research on the subject. As for the third and the last part, it engages in a reconstruction of possible symbolic manifestations of the then culture and describes the Pavlovian art with the help of particular art artefacts. The thesis is supplemented with annexed pictures.

This work demonstrates changes that have occurred in the perception, classification and finally democratization of design, by the example of textile art and personality of Marie Teinitzerová, who was at the interface of fine art, handicraft and design and significantly contributed to the promotion of new aesthetic values in all of these areas.

The Saint and Hallow Polish Martyrs In The Course of Centuries The objective of thesis "The Saint and Hallow Polish Martyrs In The Course of Centuries" is the introduction of selected Polish martyrs from the middle ages until the end of the 20th century. The thesis follow their cult development from its origin until present, including related demonstration of art, in particular the development of iconography. They also follow the influence of life example and the subsequent cult of the martyrs on the society at that time, as well as the spiritual and national awareness of the following generations. In this connection, they also give attention to particularities of the Polish national history, the constitutional arrangement, the artistic and culture relationships and environment and the history of the Catholic Church in Poland. Each chapter, which is introducing a Saint or a group of martyrs, is divided into three parts - the epoch, the life, the cult and iconography. The objective of this division is the schema of historical conditions in which the personality of the Saint was formed. These historical conditions were also determine for the martyrdom. The next parts of the chapters deal with a brief biography of the Saint and the summary of significant moments in the development of the Saint's cult...
