Grammar-Based Translation Framework

In this thesis, we examine existing parsing algorithms for context-free grammars. Based on these existing algorithms, we design a new model for representing LR automatons and we define a new parsing algorithm LSCELR based on that model. We modify parsing algorithms to create translation algorithms based on translation grammars. We define attribute translation grammars, an extension of translation grammars for defining the relationships between input and output symbols in translation. We implement a translation grammar-based framework ctf that implements the new parsing algorithm. We define a language for describing attribute translation grammars and implement a translator that creates source representation of these grammars for the implemented framework. A short proof of the generational power of translation grammars is provided.

This bachelor thesis is concerned with the use of technical language in both Czech and English language and the similarities and differences between them. To study the languages in Electrical engineering, a technical text in Czech has been chosen for translation and then translated into English. After the translation, an analysis of the language used has been made, focusing on both linguistic and extralinguistic features, which are often specific for scientific texts. These features cover a wide range of linguistic fields, such as lexicology, morphology, stylistics, syntax, but also extralinguistic issues, such as pragmatics. In conclusion, the analysis of the original and translated texts revealed many differences, both minor and major, which are the result of an attempt of transferring information in a language quite different than the original.

Commented translation of a text on science and technology

The goal of this Bachelor thesis is to translate and analyze a specialized text which focuses on transformers. The whole work is divided into two parts. The first part concentrates on the translation and overall preparation of the basis for the analysis which follows in the second part of the semestral thesis. The second part concentrates on the analysis of the text and all linguistic means which were used and the main task is to comment properly on selected phenomena that the analysis reveals.

Překlad podmnožiny jazyka PHP do C++

Tato práce se zaměřuje na návrh a tvorbu nástroje pro automatizovaný překlad funkcí napsaných v podmnožině jazyka PHP do C++. Vygenerovaný zdrojový kód je možno zkompilovat jako rozšíření PHP a zavést stejným způsobem jako například MySQL, PDO, GD apod. Ve výsledku je tedy možno zavolat tyto funkce z PHP, jako by se jednalo o původní interpretovanou funkci. Předpokladem je však rozdíl v rychlosti vykonávání, protože odpadá analýza zdrojových kódů, jejich interpretace, či režie způsobená správou paměti. Vytvořený nástroj provádí převod zdrojového kódu do abstraktního syntaktického stromu, staticky jej analyzuje pro určení datových typů proměnných, a následně provádí generování C++ kódu. Výsledné zrychlení pak záleží na charakteristice překládaného kódu a praktické použití je prozatím komplikované kvůli implementaci podmnožiny PHP.

Vyhledávání genů - webová aplikace

Cílem bakalářské práce je vytvořit uživatelské rozhraní a naimplementovat samotnou webovou aplikaci se zaměřením na vyhledávání genů. Jedná se o výukovou aplikaci, kdy každý uživatel má možnost zadání vlastní sekvence nukleotidů, popřípadě vybrání předdefinovaného řetězce. Tato aplikace musí být schopna načíst, zpracovat a rozhodnout o existenci potencionální genu. Na základě jednoduché statistické metody předá výsledek zpět uživateli.

Video Games Localisation

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the history and issues of Video Games Localization. The work will consist of two parts. The first is Theory which will include the origins of the first games to present video games. Also, it will deal with localization and problems around it. There will be terms that surrounds localization of video games like transcreation, internationalization, user interface, game code a so on. It will show the importance of why companies should be aware of cultural differences and what consequences could follow. The second half will consist of practical part where given games will be compared to the style of localization.

Commented translation of a text on science and technology

The aim of this semester thesis is to translate technical text from Czech language to English language in order to show translating capabilities of the author. Furthermore, author’s task is to comment on the topic of translation and differences between these two languages. This thesis, apart from introduction and conclusion, consists of two main parts. First one is Czech text dealing with technical problematics and translation of this text into English. In the thesis, both texts are present in order to be compared. This part is dominant in the means of extent. The second main part of this thesis is commentary to this translation, or rather commentary of the differences between target and source language. In this part the procedure of translation is also described, as well as some linguistic features that has been used.

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o vývoji aplikace Mobilní tlumočník, přičemž se zaměřuje na návrh vhodného uživatelského rozhraní. Cílem je vytvořit aplikaci s takovým rozhraním, se kterým budou uživatele schopni pracovat efektivně a s radostí. První část práce obsahuje shrnutí poznatků získaných studiem této problematiky. Po definování budoucího uživatele a řešeného problému je zde popsán návrh systému a jeho rozhraní následovaný popisem implementace a uživatelských testů.

Bachelor’s thesis “Electrotechnology – commented translation” aims at translating Czech scientific text into English language, which is used as a study material for students of Electrotechnology, and to convey comparative analysis of both the original and the translated text. The source text is divided into nine chapters from which several extracts were selected and analysed in terms of linguistics. Each of them is concerned with different area of electrical engineering and diverse variety of scientific terms is used. This bachelor’s thesis offers essential theory concerned with translation of scientific texts written in style of science and technology.

Mechanical analysis of roof lift

The bachelor's thesis deals with the mechanical analysis of a roof lift in 2D, which consists of nine solid bodies. The first part of the work covers the basic necessary theoretical knowledge to solve the problem in terms of statics and dynamics. The second part of the work is the solution itself, where the equations of static equilibrium are compiled for different states of motion. Movement states where the elevator does not move at a constant speed are solved in terms of dynamics. The solution considers the effects of passive resistances. The output of the work is the resulting forces in the bonds and the assessment of the functionality of the bonds. The numerical solution was performed using the MATLAB program.
