Child with autism in the context of inclusive education

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of inclusion of children with autism in pre-school education. It describes the concept of autism and its specificities, which can be significantly manifested in the inclusion of children in joint education up to the age of six. It points to the potential pitfalls that can arise in education and training. It explains concepts related to autistic spectrum disorders and discusses in detail the triad of impairments and related issues based on expert opinions. The thesis also shows different approaches and proven procedures for working with children with autism not only in kindergarten, but also for practice in the family. It describes different cognitive styles and other specifics that may arise in connection with autistic spectrum disorders and have a major impact on the child and his surroundings. It also includes personal examples from practice that illustrate the complexity and diversity of working with children with autistic spectrum disorder in kindergarten. Communication in adult clients with autism and its systematic support

The topic of this diploma thesis is communication in adult clients with autism and its systematic support. The text itself consists of two main parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is further divided into four chapters which deal with the basic concepts of autism spectrum disorders and communication. In these chapters, autism spectrum disorders are analysed from the viewpoint of historical development, etiology, classification and symptomatology with regard to the manifestation of ASD in adulthood. The chapters which deal with the topic of communication first define communication as such and the important terms associated with it, and then describe the specific abnormalities that may occur in the communication of people with autism spectrum disorder. They also provide support options that can be used to communicate with people with ASD. The practical part is then conceived as a qualitative research whose main aim is to describe the communication of people with autism spectrum disorder, to show its specifics and to describe the intervention that was introduced in five individual subjects. Support of education of a preschool child hospitalized with the Morbus Perthes diagnosis

The diploma thesis deals with hospitalisation of a preschool child and the importance of education during this challenging period. The goal of the thesis is to find out if parents are aware of the importance of preschool attendance while their children are hospitalised. The thesis also aims to supply teachers and parents with activities they may use to develop and support the child suffering from Perthes Disease. The thesis has been divided into two main parts. Part I is based on expert sources. It contains characteristics of a preschool child and specifies his/her needs and interests during hospitalisation, including the description of family, its function and co-operation with the hospital school. The final section of Part I provides information on Perthes Disease. Part II focuses on the family of the child suffering from the disease. This part is based on qualitative research results. The research investigated the families' attitudes to preschool education of hospitalised children and the importance of family when coping with the difficult life situation. The analysis of the collected answers resulted in a proposal of specific activities designed as a programme supporting education of the child suffering from Perthes disease. The programme is included in the final section of the thesis.
Dog Assisted Therapy and its Use in Rehabilitation of Children with Multiple disabilities

The bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of canistherapy and its use in rehabilitation of clients with multiple disabilities. It collects information available from foreign and Czech sources and creates an overview of canistherapy from its history, as well as methods, techniques and how the canistherapeutic team works. The next part of this thesis deals with multiple disabilities and particularly with the integration of canistherapy into the process of the rehabilitation. The practical part is based on the method of observing the canistherapy lesson in the selected facility. It describes the specific work of the team and the activities of various groups of handicapped children in Prague's special primary school. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare the theoretical background with the practical implementation of canistherapy in rehabilitation of clients with multiple disabilities.

Possibilities of using art therapy methods and techniques for children with autism spectrum disorder

This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of using art therapy techniques in the teaching process of pupils with autism spectrum disorders. The first part deals with the theoretical knowledge about art therapy field - general principles, methods and techniques that can be used in art therapy. In addition, the problem of autism spectrum disorder in the context of art therapy work is presented - the problematic areas associated with the ASD, to which art therapy interventions are most often targeted and which they try to influence positively, are specified. The conclusions and recommendations of earlier research on this subject are summarized. The theoretical background is followed by a case study describing the course of incorporation of some art therapy techniques into teaching when working with pupil with autism spectrum disorder in high school focused on the education of pupils with special educational needs. The aim of this work was to find out whether the use of art therapy techniques in teaching process can be beneficial. This was confirmed, the most striking impact was noted in the field of stress reduction and communication.
Snoezelen as special educational support for children with autism spectrum disorder

This diploma thesis is focused on Snoezelen as special educational support for children with autistic spectrum disorder. Snoezelen can be understood as a way of relaxation, spending free time, pedagogical action or comprehensive therapy. It can be practiced in different facilities and it brings profit to general public with different impairment. Autistic spectrum disorder is one of diagnoses in which therapists decide to use the effect of Snoezelen. There are some researches focusing on quantitative detection of the circumstances associated with Snoezelen. This is why this thesis is dedicated to a qualitative study of the use of Snoezelen in a special pedagogical institution. This Thesis aims to analyse literary sources to comprehensively characterize problems of autistic spectrum disorders and to outline the principles, benefits and requirements of Snoezelen. Subsequently, using a qualitative survey, describe coherently the way in which Snoezelen is practiced to children with autistic spectrum in a particular special pedagogical institution, evaluate this way and recommend possible improvements. Team cooperation in the education of pupils with special educational needs

The diploma thesis focuses on the theme of cooperation and communication that takes place in schools as part of the education of pupils with special educational needs. This thesis is divided into two main parts. In the first part, the author draws on theoretical knowledge and, based on the work with the available literature, she prepares three main areas related to the topic. This first area focusing on special educational needs with a more detailed description of the most common support measures - individual educational plan and teacher assistant. Another area deals with counseling outside and within the school, including counselors. The conclusion of the first part is devoted to general and pedagogical communication. The first theoretical part is gassing, the empirical part follows. At the beginning of the empirical part are described the used research methods and the choice of the research sample. The following is a description of the functioning of the education of pupils with specific educational needs at a selected elementary school in the Central Bohemian Region.
