Vztah výživy a diabetu II. typu

Diabetes Mellitus, or diabetes, is due to its increasing incidences and especially its severe complications becoming a very serious societal problem. It is often associated with a number of other diseases or disorders (e.g. metabolic syndrome), or can be one of the many causes of cancer. The origin of type II diabetes is in the vast majority of cases caused by external factors. One of the most important is nutrition which plays a major role in preventing often very serious complications of diabetes. In addition to medicamentous treatment, adjusting dietary habits (meal planning) along with physical activity is essential to treating type II diabetes. Unfortunately, we still encounter numerous fundamental errors and myths concerning right diet choices for diabetics and proper regimen measures. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to describe in a comprehensible manner which foods and their combinations are for the purposes of prevention and treatment of type II diabetes suitable and which are not.
