Footbridge across river
Klíč, Radim ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Balázs, Ivan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with a design of a steel loadbearing structure of a footbridge over a river. The footbridge is located in Svitavy and is designed for span length of 60 meters. The construction is preliminarily designed in two variants. A part of the thesis is also a comparison of both variants. The chosen variant has been elaborated in detail. It is an arched construction with a semi-through bridge deck. The main loadbearing structure consists of a pair of arches that support the steel-concrete bridge deck by means of rods in tension. The main loadbearing arches are inclined from the vertical plane towards the bridge axis and are fixed at the ends. All steel parts are designed from S355 steel, except for the rods that are designed from S460 steel. The bridge deck is designed from C 35/45 concrete. The spatial rigidity of the structure in the transverse direction is achieved by means of arc sway bracings.
Administrative building
Polerecká, Katarína ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Štrba, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is design and assessment of the steel structure of the multi-storey administration center in Martin. Floor plan dimensions are in the shape of a square 40 x 40 m. Column spacing is 8mx8x. Building has 6 floors and total height is 22,2m. Floor and roof structure is made of steel-concrete composite slab . Part of the work is analyze two different versions. Version A has longitudinal rigidity due to truss bracing. Rigidity of Version B has is ensured by frame conections between beams and columns.Version A was selected as better solution. All parts, except truss braicing is made of rolled beams. The whole structure is made of steel S355.
Business Centre
Dežerická, Lucia ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Pilgr, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design and assessment of the two different variants of the steel structure of the business centre. The building is situated in Uherské Hradiště. The construction has several floors and the ground floor in the 1st floor is 32 x 32 m, it gradually extends evenly up in 2nd floor and 5th floor, to the total ground plan dimensions of 48 x 48 m. The building has 8 floors and its maximum construction height is 40 m. The supporting system of the structure is designed from S 355 steel, it consists of steel-concrete beams, dies and columns.
Planetarium in Brno
Revayová, Veronika ; Pilgr, Milan (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The design of several variants of the structure of the planetarium in Brno is the subject of the diploma thesis . The building has a ground plan size of 30x30 meters. The main supporting material is S235 steel. The bearing structure of the object consists of columns, joists and beams. The bearing structure of the dome consists of a spatial structure, which is formed as a half-globe above the diameter of 18 meters. 3 versions of this dome have been processed. The resulting design is Geodetic Dome. Part of the work is an assessment of the main structural elements and selected details. The Scia engineer 2016 version 16.1.3033 was used to calculate internal forces.
Shopping center in Frýdek-Místek
Pešák, Radek ; Horáček, Martin (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to construct a steel shopping mall hall. The construction is located in Frýdek-Místek. The whole object can be divided in two parts. One part of the building is an atrium with a cross bridge made from glass. The roof construction of the atrium is designed as system of cylindrical lattice girders within purlins are set up. The other part of the construction is multistoried shopping mall with terrace designed as composite steel and concrete structure. The whole ground plan size of the construction is 72 m x 120 m. The height of the construction above the ground is 12.06 m. The cross-links are built up to 6 m one. There were created two versions of the construction. The most convenient version is described in more details. The outcome of the thesis is a comparison of two above mentioned versions. The whole project is based on officially recognised standard ČSN EN. The construction was designed in RFEM programme.
Industrial Hall with Administrative Building
Ceh, Ondřej ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Horáček, Martin (advisor)
This thesis contains a design of a steel structure of two-bay industrial hall with an administrative facility in the city of Brno. There are 3 variants of solution for industrial steel hall with duopitch roof with overall dimensions 60x74 m and detailed structural analysis of the first variant. Height of the hall is 10,5 m. Main structure of the roof is designed as frames from steel profiles with purlins from cold rolled sections, a span of frames is 30 m. The material of main frames is steel S355, material of purlins is S450. The hall is equipped by overhead crane with loading capacity 5 tons. Bolted connections will be done with maximal stiffness and feasibility of the structure. The administrative facility is designed as an independent building with 3 floors, the floor plan is semicircular with diameter 48 m.

Stability problems of laminated structural glass members
Pešek, Ondřej ; Lokaj,, Antonín (referee) ; Brodniansky,, Ján (referee) ; Melcher, Jindřich (advisor)
Transparent and subtle structures are features of modern architecture. Structural glass is constructional material that provides to realize architect's visions and ideas. Glass as a constructional material is more often used as a material for primary load-bearing structures. Realization of safe, reliable and economic glass structure is real challenge for structural engineers because of absence of standards for designing of glass members and elements. Compressed members (columns), bended members (beams) and members loaded by compression and bending (beam-columns) were analysed in the frame of the doctoral thesis whereby the emphasis is being placed on the lack of stability – flexural buckling, lateral-torsional buckling and flexural-lateral-torsional buckling. Measuring of shape and amplitude of initial geometrical imperfections is a part of doctoral thesis. The theoretical analysis describes the behaviour of the member by means of solving the differential equations. The solution according to the second order theory developed for metal members is applied on structural laminated glass members with use of effective cross-sectional characteristics. Numerical analysis is focused on the use of commonly available software based on finite element method in order to predict the load-bearing resistance of laminated glass members. Actual behaviour of laminated and monolithic structural glass members was found within experimental program. The correctness of FEM model and analytical solutions were evaluated by comparing with test results. The goal of the doctoral thesis was determine of buckling curves for calculation of flexural buckling and lateral-torsional buckling resistances by the same calculation procedure as for metal members. Because of small number of experimentally tested specimens the Monte Carlo simulation was performed.
Current trends in leadership of healthcare organizations
Pešek, Ondřej Matthew ; Legnerová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Drábková, Hana (referee)
9 ABSTRACT This diploma thesis summarizes the theoretical knowledge about the healthcare organization and its management, it also presents history and theories of leadership, the specifics of leadership in the healthcare organization and describes the generations of employees. The main goal of the work focuses on leadership education and training, personal characteristics of leaders, and new tools that are used in leadership. The aim of the thesis is to find current trends in the management of people in healthcare organizations in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis uses the method of the in-depth interview with the subsequent thematic analysis of acquired data. An in-depth interview was conducted with six respondents; managers of small and medium-sized healthcare organizations. The thematic analysis examines the education and leadership of healthcare organizations, deals with the styles and tools used in leadership in recent years, and also shows whether and what kind changes in leadership are anticipated by senior executives in future years when a new generation of workers is emerging. The results of the analysis show that the education of managers of healthcare organizations in the field of management is still inadequate. Leaders seek to bring the leadership to a democratic line, but they still use...
