Skopalová, Pavla ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Prolonged apnea: monitoring brain activity in freedivers Objectives: The aim of this study is to monitor the brain electrical activity during the prolonged apnea in freedivers. Prolonged apnea in the water and prolonged dry apnea were compared to each other and also to a resting state before the apnea, all states with the eyes closed. Brain activity was obtained from the scalp EEG and evaluated using the sLORETA program. Methods: The research was conducted in 11 healthy men at the age of 23 - 51. The data was obtained from the scalp EEG. The record was first taken at a resting state before the apneas with eyes closed, then at maximum prolonged dry apnea with eyes closed and finally at maximum prolonged apnea in the water with eyes closed. The lenghts of the prolonged apneas ranged from 2:15 minutes to 5:30 minutes in idividual probands. There were pauses of at least three minutes between each apnea as by the proband's needs. The compared pair groups were following: prolonged apnea in the water against prolonged dry apnea, prolonged apnea in the water against resting state before the apnea and finally prolonged dry apnea against resting state before the apnea, all with the eyes closed. Selected sections of EEG record without artefacts were processed by sLORETA program. In the statistical...

Nováková Tomášková, Tereza ; Saicová Římalová, Lucie (advisor) ; Vaňková, Irena (referee)
The thesis deals with the subject of semantics of colours in the Czech folk texts using theoretical and methodological framework of culturally oriented and cognitive approaches to language. In order to contribute to the research of the colour domain in linguistic picture of the world in Czech, semantic structure of colour concepts is examined using qualitative analysis of the occurrences excerpted from the corpora of the selected compilations of folk songs of the 19th century. The topic of radiance and visual salience of colours and their manifestations in the source material is discussed as well. Furthermore, the thesis examines if conclusions concerning the usage of colour terms in folk texts drawn by the studies based on the folklore of other Slavic languages can be applicable to the Czech material.

Title: Comparison of Rehabilitation Procedures in the Operative and Conservative Approach to Manage Chest deformity in Children Aim: The aim of this thesis is to determine the efficacy of a conservative approach in the treatment of inverted chest and to compare the effect of therapy with the surgical approach. Methodology of thesis: At the beginning of this project, a total of 9 children and adolescents (n = 9) from 10 years to 21 years of age (mean 15 years), male and female (8: 1) participated. All participants were diagnosed with thoracic deformity of pectus excavatum, which was not indicated for surgery. At the beginning of the project, all probands passed an initial examination, which included an obtaining of anthropometric values using a pelvimeter and a tailor's meter, to assess the anthropometric index and chest circumferences during breathing. Subsequently, a rehabilitation instructions have been given to all participants and all participants have obtained a printed version of these exercises. Results: The results of this study show that in patients with pectus excavatum, the regular and long term exercises, can bring the expected positive results. Especially in subjective complaints, chest flexibility and postural improvement. The final effect of thoracic deformity changes after 3 months...

Hrdinová, Denisa ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Author: Bc. Denisa Hrdinová Title: The motion pattern of abduction in the shoulder joint in overhead throwing of softball Extraliga players Objectives:The aim of the thesis was to monitor and evaluate the difference in the sequence of tenses of muscle recruitment during the abduction in the shoulder joint between softball players and the general population, using surface electromyography (SEMG). A partial aim was to identify shortened muscle groups of the shoulder girdle and their influence on the timing of the abductors. Another partial aim was to evaluate the effect of shortened muscle groups on possible deficits in scapulohumeral rhythm of softball players. Methods: The experimental group (n=10) and the control group (n=10) with a total average age of 21.8 ± 1.81 (SD) participated in the kinesiological analysis with targeted examination of the shortened muscle groups and scapulohumeral rhythm. Followed by SEMG examination of muscle timing during abduction in the shoulder joint. Five muscles were monitored during 15 repetitions of motion at 70 bpm. The SEMG signal analysis was processed by rectification and smoothing in MyoResearch software by Noraxon v3.80 and statistical analysis performed in program Statistica 13.4. Results: 1. The difference in timing between the experimental and control...

Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after total knee replacement surgery. Thesis aim: Thesis is divided into two parts, the first part is theoretical and has aim to show an overview of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the knee joint and to show general information about the osteoarthritis and the patient's surgery. The second part is the case study where aim is to show the examinations and treatments that were provided to the patient and analyse the results. Clinical findings: The patient was a 71 years old male with diagnosis of total knee replacement surgery, performed 7 days ago from the time we met. The patient had limited ROM in the operated leg into flexion and extension and the area around the knee was swollen and warm. Also, he had some weakness on the muscles of the operated leg. Procedures: All the procedures that used were based on my knowledge acquired from Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport. These were post isometric relaxation, joint mobilisation, strength and length tests and strengthening exercises based on my knowledge. Result: After 7 days of therapies the patient's operated leg had physiological mobility into flexion and extension, the muscles gained strength and oedema was reduced but not completely. Conclusion:...
