Geometric control of nonholonomic systems
Ramasubramaniyan, Sri Ram Prasath ; Vašík, Petr (oponent) ; Návrat, Aleš (vedoucí práce)
This thesis focuses on a mathematical model for a three-body space robot with the objective of reconfiguring its structure using only internal joint torques. The aim is to minimize fuel consumption and achieve efficient reconfiguration without relying on external actuators. The system exhibits one holonomic and non-holonomic constraint, making the analysis and control design challenging. To address the complexity of the non-holonomic system, the local behavior is studied through the nilpotent approximation. The thesis emphasizes understanding the nilpotent approximation and constructing the nilpotent system of the space robot using algebraic coordinates, along with transforming them into exponential coordinates within the Maple environment.
Rigid body motion from the geometric viewpoint
Karas, Jakub ; Hrdina, Jaroslav (oponent) ; Návrat, Aleš (vedoucí práce)
The main objective of this thesis is to derive the Hamiltonian equations for left-invariant problems on Lie groups. Our motivation is as follows. The motion of a 3D rigid body can be formulated as an optimal control problem in $\R^3$. The Pontryagin's Maximum Principle (PMP) can be applied to solve such a problem. However, the motion of a rigid body can also be viewed as a problem on the Lie group SE(3). This problem belongs to the class of left-invariant problems. To further simplify the problem, we assume a left-invariant Hamiltonian function. The usual approach in studying such problems involves first defining the Lagrangian function, then obtaining the Hamiltonian function, and finally formulating the Hamiltonian equations. However, we take a different approach. We derive the Hamiltonian equations for a general Lie group and a general left-invariant Hamiltonian, and then explore the types of problems that can be described by choosing specific Lie groups and Hamiltonian functions. The theoretical results obtained are then applied in the development of simulation scripts for both rigid body motion and soft body motion which utilizes CGA as its computational core. We have opted for CGA due to its remarkable computational capabilities in this context. By utilizing CGA, we naturally obtain dimension independence without any additional effort.
Práce nejprve popisuje úvod do kvantového počítání a matematický aparát nutný k pochopení dané problematiky.

Grover's algorithm in Quantum computing and its applications
Katabira, Joseph ; Návrat, Aleš (oponent) ; Hrdina, Jaroslav (vedoucí práce)
Quantum computing as a new field of computing is a quickly growing field which encapsulates the role of quantum phenomenon in our day to day lives. Because of the quantum characteristics, quantum computers have proved quantum supremacy over the classical computers. In this thesis we focused on discussing basics of quantum computing and in particular we focused on discussing the functioning, construction and implementation of Grover algorithm as a special case of quantum algorithms. We showcased its power as a database search algorithm over the classical non quantum ones through our algorithmic construction implemented through QISKit simulation environment. To simulate our construction, we made use of QASM Simulator and the State vector Simulator Aer backends and the results obtained correlated with the earlier discussed theoretical findings highly proving that Grover's algorithm provides quadratic speed up over the classical non quantum search algorithm which is a much better improvement but as at hand, the applicability of the algorithm as many others is still limited by several factors amongst which includes high decoherence levels and gate errors.
Geometric algebra applications
Machálek, Lukáš ; Návrat, Aleš (oponent) ; Vašík, Petr (vedoucí práce)
This diploma thesis deals with geometric algebra for conics (GAC) in autonomous navigation, presented on robot movement in a tube. First, the theoretical concepts are introduced. Consequently, the representations of conics in GAC are presented. Then an engine is implemented, which is capable of performing basic operations in GAC including displaying conics, which are entered in GAC context. In the end an algorithm is presented, which estimates the tube axis using points, placed into space from image, where we place center of an ellipse, which is obtained by image filter and fitting algorothm.
Využití tohoto jazyka umožňuje efektivně nahradit body v částicovém systému tuhými tělesy, snížit paměťové nároky na počítač a v ideálních případech i urychlit výpočet.
Geometrically controlled snake-like robot model
Shehadeh, Mhd Ali ; Návrat, Aleš (oponent) ; Vašík, Petr (vedoucí práce)
This master’s thesis describes equations of motion for dynamic model of nonholonomic constrained system, namely the trident robotic snakes. The model is studied in the form of Lagrange's equations and D’Alembert’s principle is applied. Actually this thesis is a continuation of the study going at VUT about the simulations of non-holonomic mechanisms, specifically robotic snakes. The kinematics model was well-examined in the work of of Byrtus, Roman and Vechetová, Jana. So here we provide equations of motion and address the motion planning problem regarding dynamics of the trident snake equipped with active joints through basic examples and propose a feedback linearization algorithm.
Nonholonomic mechanisms geometry
Bartoňová, Ludmila ; Návrat, Aleš (oponent) ; Vašík, Petr (vedoucí práce)
This master's thesis deals with a description of a kinematic control model of nonholonomic mechanism, namely the robotic snake. The model is analysed by means of differential geometry. Next, its nilpotent approximation is derived. Local controllability is checked by the dimension of Lie algebra generated by the controlling vector fields and their Lie brackets. In the end, two simple motion planning algorithms, one on global and one on local control, are proposed, and the comparison of models is discussed.
