Circularly polarized antenna array for ISM frequency band 24 GHz
Liyambo, Evans ; Cupal, Miroslav (oponent) ; Raida, Zbyněk (vedoucí práce)
This thesis deals with the design and simulation of a circularly polarized antenna array optimized for operation in the 24 GHz ISM frequency band. A circularly polarized microstrip antenna element [1] designed for operation at the frequency 45 GHz, which was used in the antenna array design, was first verified for proper functionality in CST Microwave Studio, and its parameters were compared with a conventional patch antenna excited by a cross aperture. The microstrip antenna element was then redesigned to operate in the 24 GHz ISM frequency band for use in the antenna array design.
Substrate integrated phased antenna array
Liyambo, Evans ; Veselý, Jiří (oponent) ; Raida, Zbyněk (vedoucí práce)
In this thesis, a substrate integrated phased array antenna designed for operation in the Ka band [4] is verified and examined using the simulation software ANSYS HFSS. The array is fed by a tunable substrate integrated phase shifter utilizing the interaction between a slot on the waveguide and a high dielectric slab as a phase shifting mechanism. The array performance is compared with that of an array designed with continuous walls replacing the metallic vias of the waveguide. Lastly, the array is redesigned with increased via dimensions and its performance is further examined.

Circularly Polarized Antenna Array For Ism Frequency Band 24 Ghz
Liyambo, Evans
In this paper, a circularly polarized antenna array designed for operation at 45 GHz is redesigned to operate at 24 GHz. The antenna has a wide impedance bandwidth of 33 %, a 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth of 8.3 % and high gain performance. By using thicker substrates, the impedance bandwidth of the antenna was improved without changing its initial configuration. The antenna was designed in CST Microwave Studio.
