Pharmacogenetics of statins and metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is one of the most prevalent conditions in our population. Among components of the syndrome is a major risk factor of cardiovascular diseases - a change in blood lipid profile presented by alterations in cholesterol and triacylglycerol levels. Statins are currently the drug of choice for therapy of dyslipidemia. This group of drugs is characterized by inhibition of cholesterol synthesis in liver. Pharmacogenetics is a progressive field studying interactions between drugs and genetic background of a patient. There has been described a large amount of genetic variants affecting pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic aspects of statin effects. These variants were shown to be important for course of treatment and development of side effects such as statin myopathy. First, this work characterizes pharmacogenetics, metabolic syndrome and statins. Second, it provides a comprehensive summary of genetic polymorphisms underlying important pharmacogenetic interactions with statins.
Preparation and optical properties of scintillation oxide layers

In this work we studied properties of garnet scintillator layers (RxLu3-xAl5O12, RxY3-xAl5O12) doped by rare earth ions (Ce, Pr, Tb), orthosilicates (Y2SiO5; R = Ce, Tb) and influence of Sc codoping on Pr3+ and Tb3+ emissions. The Zr codoping on Ce3+ emission in orthosilicates was also studied. The samples were prepared by liquid phase epitaxy. The studied materials show high quantum efficiency and good chemical and mechanical stability. They represent ideal materials for 2D imaging devices. We studied optical absorption, excitation and emission spectra and scintillation properties (radiolunescence and photoelectron yield). The aim was to determine the properties of grown layers and their comparison to Czochralski grown single crystals. We looked for the impact of melt and growth conditions on measured layer properties. We also tried to determine optimal amount of dopants in layer. We used PbO - B2O3 and BaO - BaF2 - B2O3 fluxes. Using these fluxes, we succeeded in growing layers with less intrinsic defects in crystal lattice in comparison to single crystals. In grown layers of thickness from 1 to 30 µm higher dopant concentration was achieved than in single crystals.
Oxide scintillator detectors

The presented thesis focused on the study of a new material concept of Ce3+ doped multicom- ponent aluminum garnets (GdLu)3(GaAl)5O12. High purity single crystalline epitaxial films were grown by the method of liquid phase epitaxy from the BaO-B2O3-BaF2 flux with spe- cial emphasis on the elimination of the potential impurities coming from the flux. Combined experimental study of photoelectron yield (under alpha excitation), decay kinetics of fast and delayed recombination in the milisecond time range (under e-beam excitation) and photo-, cathodo- and radio-luminescence spectroscopies were used to characterize the studied mater- ial. The single-step nonradiative energy transfer from the donor Gd3+ to an acceptor Ce3+ was observed in the low Gd, Ce doped LuAG films and established as long-range dipole - dipole interaction. Special attention was devoted to the positive effect of combined Gd and Ga substitution on the extensive suppression of shallow traps, which are responsible for the slow component in the scintillation response. The best obtained scintillation characteristics of the studied epitaxial films were comparable with the top performance bulk crystals. 1

Tittle: Description quadrupedal locomotion diagonal pattern in specific sport activity (rope climbing, walking, pull-up) Aim of work: The aim is to find a description kvadrupedal locomotion diagonal pattern with rope climbing and its motion pattern compared with the motion pattern of walking and pull-up. Methods: This work is descriptively-association study with quantitative and qualitative analysis. The dates were measured by surface electromyography and 2-D video-analysis. Results: Alternating activation of upper extremities (rope climbing without the lower extremities), we proved that the movement supporting lower extremities is quadruped locomotion diagonal pattern. Symmetric work of upper extremities (pull-up) is not in response at lower extremities quadruped locomotion diagonal pattern. The Supreme Administrative Court of Czechoslovakia - its formation and development

This thesis deals with the formation and development of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Czechoslovakia. Given that this institution in our country was built on similar principles as the previous administrative court in Vienna, there is a part of the work given to the development of Supreme Administrative Court in Vienna and also briefly discusses the development of directions of administrative judiciary in Europe, because only in mutual relations you can understand why after an establihment of the independent Republic of Czechoslovakia, the concept of the Supreme Administrative Court in Vienna used in our conditions as well. In particular, thanks to this and the legislative framework, the Supreme Administrative Court of Republic of Czechoslovakia could be constitued in a very short time after the establishment of the Republic of Czechoslovakia. The following is gradual evolution of the court changes its powers and jurisdiction, including amendments to the Act made about him. In addition, this work also addresses the issue of the seat of the Supreme Administrative Court, staffing its decision-making.
Evaluation of health related physical fitness of elementary school students in Libya.

Title: Evaluation of health related physical fitness of elementary school students in Libya. Aims: Evaluating the elements of physical fitness related to health of students of elementary education of Libya, and comparing their level with students of other countries according to the availability of data. Methods: Statistical survey and comparative analysis. Results: The researcher used a set of fitness tests related to health using the presently implemented physical fitness test battery to get results to present the realistic outcomes to officials who take care of physical activity, which is one of the bases of health as we know. This research identifies the current health-related fitness levels of students in (Aljmeel, Regthaleen, Zwara) school district and suggests cultural differences that may influence that fitness status, and discussed four the evaluating of elements of physical fitness related health, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and body composition which measured by 1 mile run, sit up test, sit and reach and skinfold caliper. Monitoring of changes regarding muscle involvement in specific areas of human motion system when walking and nordic walking

The Dissertation is concerned with monitoring of changes regarding muscle involvement in specific areas of human motion system when walking and Nordic walking (NW) with focus on adults and by means of electromyography method. Within the process of field testing there were 9 randomly selected individuals at the age of 50 - 60 tested to elicit differences in the motion system. There was an effort to find certain differences within involvement of specific muscle groups in the area of shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle and lower limbs and retrieval of similarities of coordination attributes concerning locomotion at horizontal presented by paradigm of kinesiological content of reflexive crawling according to Vojta's principle. Kinematic analyses was used to discover a difference in involvement of specific muscles between Nordic (v = 5 kph) and regular walking (v = 4, 75 kph) up to 10˚ of ascent. Muscles where their MVC was diagnosed the difference in individual muscle involvement was monitored expressed in percentage. Title: Timely diagnosis of motor function in children with intrauterine growth retardation and possibilities for its influencing with the aid of physiotherapeutic methods This dissertation focuses on the examination of children with locomotive coordination disorder that were born with the risk of intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) in their case history. This work calls attention to notable postural deviations in the 5 th week of life of children that affect their motor development in the first year of life and could be a risk indicator for the emergence of postural deviations typical for children's defective posture (VDT). Aim: to confirm the methodological practice when assessing qualitative indicators of the most serious deviations of locomotive manifestations from physiological development of movement in the 5 th week of a child's life with the aid of developmental kinesiology.
