How does the school management assign teachers to classrooms at selective elementary schools?

The dissertation deals with the topic of how the school management of Czech primary schools assign teachers to classrooms. The aim of the thesis was to define the system of assigning teachers to classrooms at schools applying pupils' differentiation and to clarify which criteria the school management follows in the assignment of teachers to the classrooms. The theoretical part was based on both domestic and foreign sources dealing with the concept of differentiation of pupils in primary education and with the choice of assignment of teachers to classrooms. Differentiation of pupils was presented in terms of the positive effects of effective education of similarly competent pupils and in terms of the view that differentiation supports the unequal distribution of pupils in classes and the subsequent recruitment of teachers applying different demands and curriculum. In addition, a model of pupils' differentiation and models of assignment of teachers to classrooms were presented, and also the theoretical model of teacher's knowledge was introduced, which was further used in the empirical part for the determination of the criteria for assigning teachers to classrooms. Department: Department of Psychology Abstract: This dissertation thesis deals with the concept of academic self-efficacy. The aim of this study was to develop a research tool for assessing high school students` academic self-efficacy, which is not yet available in the Czech environment. The theoretical part is based on a more general level of self-efficacy and further focuses on the specific characteristics of academic self- efficacy and ways of measuring it. The empirical part deals with the development of the questionnaire, with verification of its psychometric characteristics and finding out the relationship with other variables. The research sample consists of 1717 high school students from all regions of the Czech Republic. The research included secondary vocational schools and grammar schools. Students filled in the questionnaire for Czech language and for mathematics. The final research tool is highly reliable and also its validity has been verified. Lifelong learning for teachers

(in English): The purpose of this paper is to gain knowledge about further teacher education. The paper is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains definitions connected with the topic, legislative definition, goals and forms of further education of teachers and effectiveness. Further it deals with the ways how teachers choose their further education and what motivates them. It also presents the institutions that provide further education of pedagogical staff. The purposes of this part have been fulfilled. The second part focuses on research questions understanding the term of further education of pedagogical workers, its forms, the selection preferences and support from school management. The semi-structured interview method was used to get answers in the research part. The purposes of this part have been partially fulfilled.
Integration of students with a different mother tongue into a Czech elementary school

This diploma thesis deals with the integration of pupils with another mother tongue into the Czech elementary school. The thesis has a theoretical-empirical character. The theoretical part is based on professional literature and provides basic information on the number of foreigners in the Czech Republic, migration, categories of foreigners and legislation related to the stay of foreigners in the Czech Republic. It also deals with the term of a pupil with another mother tongue, as well as the legislation related to the education of these pupils in the Czech Republic. It describes in detail how to integrate a pupil with another mother tongue into school. At the end of the theoretical part of the thesis are described barriers that prevent inclusion of pupils and activities that would facilitate integration. The aim of the empirical part of the thesis is to find out how the integration of pupils with a different mother tongue into the Czech elementary school from the point of view of pedagogues and teachers assistants is taking place. The research survey is of good quality. Data are obtained through semi-structured interviews with 4 teachers and 4 teacher assistants. This bachelor thesis with the topic "The role of teacher's assistant in inclusive education on primary schools" is aiming to approach the role of teacher's assistant in the context of current legislation. The target is to find out if this role is really needed in schools. The secondary expected contribution of my research should explain which problems appeared with the integration of the role of teacher's assistant to the classroom. The thesis is devided to two parts. The first part is theoretical focusing on general characteristics of inclusive education and the role of teacher's assistant from historically and nowadays points of view. Emphasis is placed on current legislation and changes in laws. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to my research aiming to find out if we need the role of teacher's assistant in inclusive education and if what are the issues of the assistant's integration to the classroom.

The diploma thesis deals with the pedagogical and educational influence of a form teacher at secondary school in the process of adaptation of new students. A form teacher at secondary school plays an important role in the lives of students coming from an elementary school. He is directly involved in creating favourable climate in the newly forming class and in a challenging working environment since the beginning of the school year. The form teacher influences whether students like going to another school facility, what kind of relationship they enjoy with their classmates, how they perceive school and how they go through a period of self-reliance, adolescence, and preparation for their future profession. The form teacher is an employee, pedagogue and educator rolled into one with a number of duties arising from the job position; the person who is the closest to his students in resolving everyday school and life pleasures and worries at the time of adaptation. This text concentrates on the topic of career counselling, concretely on counselling for high school students while they are in the process of career decision making. The emphasis is on an educational career choice programme (that targets on the making of career choices) as a method of career counselling. The goal of the thesis is to examine if the programme meets its goals and to examine possible ways of its improvement. The thesis first offers a theoretical grounding of the topic. Then the empirical part includes a detailed description of the educational programme and then a follow-up research probe examining the fulfilling of the programme's goals and the possible ways of its improvement. Comparative Analysis of Czech and Norwegian Educational System: Analysis of chosen actual problems

Comparative analysis of Czech and Norwegian educational system is focused on comparing topics of inclusive education and teacher training between both countries. The aim of thesis is comparation of chosen educational topics, which is based on study and analysis of curricular and legislative documents, white papers etc. of the Czech Republic and Norway with reference to their links and differences. The main focus of thesis is synchronous data comparison and suggestion of solutions for pedagogical reality. Comparison of selected pedagogical problems is supplemented by chapters that briefly present demographic, historical, economic, etc. data on the countries concerned, including a brief overview of education systems. The results of the thesis can serve as a basis for further research of selected topics or may be an inspiration for practice. Specifics of pupils' home preparation for English lessons

(in English) This diploma thesis deals with the instruction of home preparation of the lower secondary school students for English lessons. It describes the pupils, teachers and parents attitudes to English as a second language and determines home preparation from points of view of particular groups of respondents. The empirical part of this thesis is addressed to learning strategies and learning techniques used by pupils of the particular school.
