Factors affecting the performance of small and medium-sized family business in the wine sector

Byly provedeny dva empirické výzkumy: kvalitativní a kvantitativní. Výsledkem kvalitativního výzkumu jako pilotní studie bylo porozumění současné situaci a vytvoření koncepčního rámce rodinného podnikání v odvětví vína v České republice s ohledem na výsledky výzkumu literatury. V důsledku kvantitativního výzkumu byly navíc zkoumány vztahy mezi hlavními konkurenčními taktiky a výkonnosti rodinného podniku, a to s ohledem na generační fázi rodinných firem. Otevřené kódování bylo použito v prvním výzkumu. Použití testu Mann-Whitney U umožnilo určit významný rozdíl mezi využitím konkurenční taktiky vybranými rodinnými firmami s ohledem na generační fázi. Aplikací korelační a regresní analýzy výzkum pomohli zjistit vztahy mezi konkurenčními taktiky a výkonnosti rodinného podnikání obecně a taky vzhledem ke generační fáze vybraných vinařských rodinných firem v České republice.

V současné době se do středu zájmu odborníků z oblasti věd o člověku a společnosti dostala problematika rovných příležitostí pro muže a ženy, která má zásadní vliv i na život každého z nás. Velmi aktuální a významná je zejména pro hospodářskou praxi, a to z hlediska působení jednotlivců v pracovním procesu, kde stále existují určité limity pokud jde o reálné možnosti uplatnění žen, a to jak ve funkcích řadových zaměstnanců, tak především v oblasti managementu. Výraznější zájem o tuto problematiku v našich podmínkách přitom podnítilo zejména postupné pronikání informací o hnutí za zrovnoprávnění šancí pro ženy, které dlouhodobě existuje v USA a západoevropských zemích. Kromě toho se zde však podílely i již delší dobu trvající rozpory mezi mírou zaměstnanosti u mužů a žen ve vztahu k jejich možnostem a hmotnému ocenění jejich práce. A konečně nejvýznamnější měrou se v současnosti na bouřlivém vývoji zájmu o tuto problematiku aktuálně podepsala i nutnost přizpůsobit naší legislativu podmínkám EU.
System TOGA and work style questionnaire for managers

In theoretical part of dissertation author describes the constitution of the system called TOGA as a unifying concept which enables assessment of work style of managers based on systemisation of their activities into three categories. It differentiates the following categories of activities: diagnostically oriented activities, algorithmically oriented activities and creatively oriented activities. Based on these universal and understandable categories it assesses the preference of particularly oriented activities. In system of TOGA the term work style of manager is described as an individually characteristic level how manager prefers activities with diagnostic, algorithmic, creative orientation. Higher risk is assigned to the profile of work style of manager who dislikes or neglects or refuses certainly oriented activities. Typical mistakes but also recommendations are described for individual managers as well as measures to be implemented by their superiors. In research part of dissertation author introduces results of standardisation study of questionnaire which assesses attitude/preference to diagnostically, algorithmically and creatively oriented activities. Reliability, validity, item analysis and norms are demonstrated in the study.
The effect of the use of sports celebrities as the reference group on the buying preferences of the young generation in the Prague region

Title: The effect of the use of sports celebrities as the reference group on the buying preferences of the young generation in the Prague region Objectives: The main objective of the thesis is to determine through marketing research whether and what effect has the use of sports celebrities in marketing communication of companies as a reference group on the buying preferences of the young generation, so-called Generation Y, in the Prague region. Methods: The thesis used a questionnaire survey and subsequent focus groups. For the creation of the questionnaire is used as a basis the US version of the original questionnaire of the authors BUSH, MARTIN, BUSH (2004). Firstly the questionnaire undergoes a process of transcultural transfer, in which is utilized a modified direct translation and confirmatory factor analysis. This survey includes a sample of 416 respondents who are students of Prague secondary schools and universities. Focus groups are conducted with four groups which counts a total of 41 respondents. Results: The research results show that the use of sports celebrities in marketing communication has no demonstrable effect on the word-of-mouth communication and the switching and complaining behaviour for Generation Y. Assessment of Human Capital Management in Czech Companies

The aim of the thesis is to project and verify a model focused on assessment of human capital management in relation to company efficiency in selected sector – banking in Czech Republic. The model is projected in the following steps. Main areas of human capital management which are significant in terms of the relevant sector are identified by synthesis of the findings arising from preliminary research. Relevant variables are identified according to main areas. The degree of significance variables is established by a questionnaire survey. Subsequently, the number of variables is reduced by using statistical methods in order to preserve the original information. The last step is the presentation of the model proposal. Subsequently, the model is verified.
