The effect of education on reproductive behaviour in low-fertility settings in Slovakia after 1992

The relationship between reproduction and highest achieved education is currently one of the main factors of reproductive behavior. In postmodern societies, it is generally associated with the negative effect of higher education levels on the number of children born. The level of education affects not only the ultimate fertility of women or the time of entering maternity. It also affects individual preferences, normative orientations, and development of values. Relationship of education and reproduction can be grasped on several levels. Therefore, the presented work points on the attitude differences between individuals in the individual educational categories in Slovakia after 1992 and offers an analytical and theoretical explanation of the development and differences in reproductive behavior.
