The methodology for bit-level preservation of digital data

The aim of the digital data bit-level protection methodology is to provide recommendations for implementing Long Term Preservation (LTP) storage. The methodology provides guidance on how to address the problem of bit protection of digital data in the environment of Czech libraries on the basis of good practice in this area available in the Czech Republic and worldwide. At the same time, this methodology is connected to project ARCLib , which aim is to develop open source LTP system. For wide availability to the libraries of the Czech Republic and elsewhere, the whole recommendation is based on freely available technologies with open source text and licenses allowing further development and adaptation to the needs of the user.

Research Data Analysis Based on the Collection of Dissertation Theses of Charles University in Prague with Regard to Long-term Digital Preservation

This dissertation thesis focuses on research data and their use in academics from the point of view of long-term preservation. It maps usage of research data at Charles University in Prague, analyses them and lays the foundation for further research. The first part of the text focuses on the theory of long term preservation and describes the most relevant concepts regarding users, storage and structure of research data. The second part is devoted directly to research data. It consists of definition of research data, the short explanation of their importance and sources, and the model of their lifecycle. The pivotal part of the thesis is the description and the results of the research itself. The research was conducted during the year 2015 and was based on a sample of dissertation theses from the collections of Charles University in Prague. Collected data were analysed by the methods of content analysis and grounded theory. Li-ion traction battery 28V/40Ah for an electric bike

Thes is deals with the construction, protective circuits and lifetime of lithium ion batteries intented for powering electric bicycles. The entire battery is composed of Li-ion cells with the designation 18650 from Sanyo company, which are connected via series-parallel combination. Because of the series connection of the cells, it is necessary to add protective circuit to each cell to prevent overcharging or deep discharging, on which Li-ion cells are very sensitive. Absence of these circuits could cause irreversible damage to the entire battery pack. Life of Li-ion cells depends on many aspects. These aspects have an influence on the electric bicycle itself. They have an impact on the range and the number of charging and discharging cycles against the considerably high price of the battery.
