The bachelor thesis is focused on the anti-Franco student movement in Spain during Franco's dictatorship between the years 1956 and 1975. The research concentrates mainly on the position of the student movement and its protest activities. This thesis aims to analyze the activities of the student movement, its development, achievements, and potential impact on the decision-making of the Francoist government. The paper answers the question of whether the student movement caused any concessions made by the Francoist government. Firstly, the paper deal with conditions at universities before the year 1956. At these times, universities were formed by restrictive measures and by attempts for the catholicization of the education system. In this section, author focuses on the role of the regime at universities. This chapter concentrates also on the formation and development of student movement until the crucial year 1956 which became a landmark in organizing continuous protests. The pivotal section of the research follows which chronologically examines activities of the student opposition movement in the years 1956 and 1975. In this part, the thesis analyzes successes of the student movement, its imperfections, and focuses on its most significant years. Later, at the beginning of the seventies student...
Rodinný život řidičů kamionu
This bachelor's thesis analyzes the work-life balance of truck drivers and aims to examine the lives of drivers' families to determine whether it is possible to balance their personal and work lives. The theoretical foundation of this thesis is based on literary sources, which discuss characteristics of a driver's work as well as work-life balance. The author details the current situation of Czech families with regard to family and social policy of the Czech Republic. Further, the author explains health issues that may result from sedentary work including truck driving. This study was conducted through semi-structured interviews with seven truck drivers of various ages and work practices. In the interviews, drivers express their experiences with work-life balance and consequent family issues. Respondents also spoke about the characteristics and problems of the driver's work. The results indicate to some extent possibility of work-life balance of truck drivers although the balance is imperfect and family needs are not satisfied fully. The family model of truck driver families corresponds to gender role division of labor and especially childcare is not divided between a man and woman equally thanks to a long period of a man away from home caused by characteristics of driver's work.
Deployments of World War I History in the Medium of Video Games
Šindelář, Jakub ; Matějka, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
The thesis is a comparative case study, that applies the typology of deployments of history of S. A. Metzger and R. J. Paxton on the World War I video games Battlefield 1 and Valiant Hearts. The objective of the thesis is to compare the studied games and to evaluate the usefulness and limitations of the applied typology as an analytical tool. A. Chapman's analytical framework for the formal analysis of historical video games is used as a methodological guideline. The "texts" of the video games serve as the main data source, complemented by the use of Let's Play videos, that allow a deeper level of analysis in certain areas and offer a glimpse of how historical representations and narratives are being consumed. Results show that both games present a rich and critical view of the World War I history and that they offer space for representation of marginalized groups. The game Valiant Hearts, unlike the game Battlefield 1, has a strong anti-war message and tells its story from a transnational perspective, emphasizing the Franco-German reconciliation. The game Battlefield 1 celebrates the combat heroism of the soldiers of individual nations and avoids completely the portrayal of civilians and the impact of the war on their lives. The World War I in this game is likened to the Second World War and it...

Market consistent valuation of insurance liabilities
Šindelář, Jakub ; Hejmová, Barbora (advisor) ; Branda, Martin (referee)
Market-consistent actuarial valuation of insurance liabilities is important approach not only for regulatory framework Solvency II but also generally for financial and actuarial modeling in insurance companies. It is the reason why we will focus on derivation of basic theory for valuation of cash flow from insurance liabilities by real world probability measure with deflators and risk neutral measure with bank account numeraire (also called equivalent martingale measure). We will show on illustrative examples ekvivalence of both approaches. Further, we will focus on spot rate modeling using discrete time Vasicek model. We use discrete time Vasicek model in Valuation Portfolio theory, where we are trying to replicate insurance liabilities by financial instruments. In theory and also example we use important assumption about independent decoupling of financial events and insurance technical events for theirs modeling.
History in computer games: case study on "Valiant Hearts: The Great War"
Šindelář, Jakub ; Matějka, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kozák, Kryštof (referee)
This thesis is a case study analysis of the visualization of history in computer games. The analyzed game, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, was published by the French company Ubisoft in 2014. The game is set in The First World War and was developed in cooperation with The Centenary Parnership Proram. The main goals of the thesis are following: First, determine if the vision of history in the game reflects the current paradigms of French historiography of The First World War. Second, to identify and to interpret particularities and deformations in the way the game recreates history. The first, theoretical chapter presents the phenomenon of The First World War in the French context, the study of computer games and the methodology of the analysis. For the analysis I have created my own methodology which combines various approaches used elsewhere. Chapter 2 contains the analysis, which is further structured into the analysis of the story from the perspective of the main characters and locations (2.1), analysis of the object inventory and the in game miniencyclopedia (2.2), and the analysis of game's style and form -the graphic and audio style, along with the issue of player freedom (2.3). For greater clarity, the parts of the game are referred to through it's subchapters. The results of the analysis...
The Umbrella Clause in investment disputes
Šindelář, Jakub ; Balaš, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šturma, Pavel (referee)
"Umbrella Clause" in investment disputes The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the so-called umbrella clause, a provision that can be often encountered in the bilateral investment treaties. The aim of the thesis is to identify and assess individual interpretation issues that are faced by the arbitration tribunals when applying this provision. The thesis is composed from two main parts, theoretical one and analytical one. Each part is further divided into two separate chapters. First chapter familiarizes a reader with the basic instruments of international investment law, the bilateral investment treaties and investment contracts. The umbrella clause issue is closely intertwined with the topic of internationalization of investment contract, which is also discussed within this chapter. The second chapter provides basic introduction to the examined legal institution. Besides determining characteristic features of the umbrella clause and basic variations of its wording, the chapter also focuses on presence of this provision in contemporary sources of international investment law. In this regard, detailed analysis of the Czech bilateral investment treaties is presented. Last but not least, the attention is paid to the historical context of the issue. The detailed analysis of the International...
Mathematical model of groundwater flow during operation of a circulation well
Žáková, Tereza ; Mls, Jiří (advisor) ; Šindelář, Jakub (referee)
In this master's thesis, a numerical model of groundwater flow in a contaminated area of Hradec Králové was created. After that, a circulation well was introduced. Two circulation well variants, which differ in the amount of pumped water, were examined. All simulations were performed with the aid of a finite element solver Feflow 5.2. The values of hydraulic head resulting from the mathematical model are in a good agreement with those obtained from the field measurement. The groundwater flow present in the area of interest exhibits south to southwest direction. After introducing the circulation well, I focused on the influence of the amount of pumped water on the groundwater flow. The outcome of this observation was that during the higher volume pumping, the circulation cell is larger and therefore has a higher influence on the groundwater flow. I evaluated that it is more efficient to pump a higher amount of water in the investigated area.
Adsorption of radionuclides in granite pores and micropores
Šindelář, Jakub ; Mls, Jiří (advisor) ; Šantrůček, Jaromír (referee)
Adsorption of radionuclides in granite pores and micropores ABSTRACT This graduation thesis deals with laboratory determination of adsorption isotherms parameters. Granite from the central moldanubian pluton, site Panské Dubenky, Czech Republic, was chosen to the experiment. The place is one of the candidate sites to build a deep nuclear waste disposal. A batch experiment was performed in two modes, differing in the way of addition of radioactive nuclide 90 Sr. From this experiment, distribution coefficients for a linear isotherm or parameters for Langmuir isotherm were obtained. Beside this, a through-diffusion experiment was performed. The objective of this experiment was to identify whether some of the radionuclides used (137 Cs, 90 Sr, 125 I) is able to penetrate through the pores of a granite slice barrier between two solutions of different concentrations. During the period of the experiment no radionuclide was detected reliably.
