Doped ceramic substrates for plasma aplications

This bachelor thesis summarizes findings on subject: Doped ceramic substrates for plasma aplications. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a literary research focused on topic: production of thin ceramic tapes by tape casting and their use. The second part is experimental. It deals with the preparation of alumina tapes doped with magnesium spinel (MgAl2O4) in different amounts. Phase composition and microstructure will be evaluated on prepared structures. The prepared samples will be used for the production of electrodes for atmospheric plasma discharge.

This bachelor thesis summarizes findings on subject: Multi-phase porous bioceramics bone scaffolds based on calcium phosphates. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a literary recherche speaking on topic: Tricalcium-phosphate-based bioceramic materials and their interaction with the body of the recipient. The second part is experimental. It describes the preparation of mixed ceramics (mixture of hydroxyapatite (HA) and tricalcium phosphate (TCP)) and evaluation of their microstructure and changes of phase composition.
Silicon substituted calcium phosphate based bioceramic scaffolds

The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis summarizes the current state of knowledge of bioceramic materials based on calcium, phosphorus and silicon. More specifically, it focuses on calcium phosphates, the demands placed on them, the porosity of 3D foams, and biological properties such as biodegradation and bioactivity. 3D bioceramic calcium phosphate foam doped with silicon appears to be a suitable material for use in biomedical applications. It is the silicon that plays a role in the development of healthy bone and the formation of new tissue. Silicon substitutions are important in the field of investigation because they improve the bioassay of phosphate calcium. In the experimental part, calcium phosphate powders were first prepared by the hydroxyapatite and silica fusion reaction. Selected powder contents were 0; 0.1; 1, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 wt.% SiO2. The samples were sintered at 1100 °C, 1200 °C and 1300 °C. The second part consisted in the preparation of 3D foams by direct penetration with polyurethane and the subsequent characteristics of phase composition, solubility and bioactivity. Bioceramic foams had a highly porous structure. For 42 days, sample behavior in Tris-HCl and simulated body fluid (SBF) was monitored. The results of the experiment have shown that the samples are bioactive and silicon substitution increases phosphate calcium solubility. Therefore, these materials are potentially useful for biomedical applications
Constructing fiction

Cílem naší práce bylo zodpovědět otázku "Jak to, že se fikční svět svému autorovi dává v některých případech s nutností?". Na cestě za zodpovězením této otázky jsme podnikli rozsáhlé zkoumání tzv. teorie fikčních světů, již jsme považovali za vhodnou k řešení této problematiky. Zkoumali jsme nejprve způsob, jakým fikčněsvětová teorie pracuje s pojmem světa. Zjistili jsme, že jej pojímá nekriticky a z velké části metaforicky. V druhé části jsme se pokoušeli odpovědět na otázku, zda fikční svět představuje možný svět tak, jak ho popsal Saul Kripke. Zjistili jsme, že nikoli, a že fikční svět může být možným světem jen v metaforickém smyslu, což právě umožňuje pojem jazyka. Poznali jsme tak řadu vlastností fikčního věta: zjistili jsme, že je neúplný, může být nemožný a především, že má modalitu. Jinými slovy, fikční svět je samostatný systém sám pro sebe, skutečný "svět". Ve třetí kapitole jsme se v rámci zkoumání přístupu ke skutečnosti zabývali pragmatickými teoriemi fungování jazyka, které předkládají více či méně relativistické pojetí pravdy jako kontextuální vázanosti výroku/faktu. Active old age and depression

In my work I deal about problems connected with active old age and the depression in the old age. I tried to prove the relation between the incidence of depressions and the following factors: hobbies and activities, religious faith, education and loneliness. The research was carried out by filling in a questionnaire by three different groups of seniors. The target group in general was established by persons in the age category of 60-90 years of age. The three specific sub-groups as mentioned above consist of a/ persons living in retirement homes, b/ members of the club of seniors, c/ accidentally chosen seniors, visiting offices of a general practitioner and of a private gynaecologist in the town of Česká Kamenice. The results of my research, as far as the whole of the target group is concerned, proved the association between the incidence of depressive symptoms and the three chosen factors: hobbies and activities, education, and loneliness. Most evident of all was the association between being lonely and the incidence of depression, then between the achieved level of education and the incidence of depression. Oxidation barriers prepared by electrochemical procedures

A process with aim to prepare an oxidically and thermal resistant layer was performed on the samples from clear aluminium (99,99+ %, VÚK čisté kovy, s. r. o.) and on the samples from clear titanium (99,95 % Goodfellow) with a layer from sputtered aluminium (99,99 %, VÚK čisté kovy, s. r. o.), An oxidic layer was prepared on the samples by anodization in the oxalic acid. The layer had fine, hexagonally organized pores with the diameter of 30 nm. During the following processing was the structure prepared for the electrochemical deposition of copper to the pores. The aim of the electrodeposition was preparation of copper nanowires deposited into the pores of the oxidic layer. The process was performed in the solution of copper sulfate and sulfuric acid in water. The controlling parameter of the deposition was voltage which had a very asymmetric period. The period had to be optimized for a successful preparation of the wires. The result of the whole process was structure with oxidic matrix whose most of the pores were filled with copper.
Self-organized nanostructured oxide layers

Series of anodization experiments was conducted on pure aluminium (99,95 Goodfellow) substrates with the aim to map the possibilities and evaluate available techniques. Oxalic acid electrolyte was used for anodization at different voltage levels ranging from 20 to 60V, while current was always measured continuously during the experiment. The influence of substrate surface treatment, time and grain size of the substrate was documented for as anodized oxide structures using FEG-SEM. Well aligned and evenly distributed pores of the diameters ranging 20- 35 nm were achieved. Extremely fine pores down to 10 nm were achieved using the step-down technique governed by current limitation. Further post-anodizing treatment was evaluated – pore widening by chemical and electrochemical etching, which resulted in pores 80nm wide. The feasibility of electrodeposition of metallic wires directly into the AAO structure without substrate removal was evaluated. DC, AC symmetric and non-symmetric voltage setups were used. The deposition experiments results varied strongly depending on the post anodization treatment. For combination of pore-widening after anodizing with step-down stage, the deposition of copper nanowires was achieved. For simple step-down procedure, creation of very fine copper particles was realized using non-symmetric AC deposition. Further experiments and feasibility of metals electrodeposition in the AAO pores without substrate removal is discussed.
