Legal and social aspects of drug addiction legislation The purpose of my thesis is to analyse influence of EU policy on drug legislation, obligations of UNO conventions, drug related legislation in Czech republic, national drug policy and comparison of drug related legislation in Czech republic an Slovak republic. The reason for my research is long term interest about this issue. Drug phenomenon is insepareble to the human mankind and becomes to global problem. Illegal drugs is the third biggest industry line and world hardly tries to find solutions how to fight against this complex problem of society. The thesis is composed of five chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of drug and drug related legislation. Chapter One analyzes influence of EU drug policy on national legislation. The chapter is subdivided into two parts. Part One describes EU institutions dealing with drugs and explains their activity in EU drug policy. Part Two focuses on current drug policy in EU based on "balance approach" of represion and prevention. Chapter Two subscribes an overview of the international drug legislation with particular reference to UNO conventions and summarise role of UNO bodies . The chapter consists of two parts.
