ALMA Development Plan Study: Solar Research with ALMA. Final report

The final report of the research/development project Solar Research with ALMA: Development study. The project has been demanded by ESO to the Czech node of the European ALMA Regional Center. The main goal of the project is development of the specific Solar Observing Mode for ALMA observatory. The report on demand of ESO summarizes in detail results of the WP3: Optimum strategies for project preparation, execution and post-processing. This summary of the second term of the project is precedded by a brief annoation of results described in the prevoius two mid-term reports. Main result: Based on the test (Science Verification) solar observations, which we took part in Chile in December 2014 and 2015, it has been shown that suggested procedures for solar observations with ALMA, including subsequent calibration and imaging, do work and can be used for regular ALMA science program. The report has been reviewed by international expert panel nominated by ESO.\n\n\n\n

A mid-term progress report of the research/development project “Solar Research with ALMA: Development study”. The project has been demanded by ESO to the Czech node of the European ALMA Regional Center. The main goal of the project is development of the specific Solar Observing Mode for ALMA observatory. The report on demand of ESO summarizes results of the WP1: Solar science cases. Possible solar science cases have been identified and optimal observation, calibration and imaging strategies for individual cases suggested. The report has been reviewed by international expert panel nominated by ESO.\n\n\n

Long-Term Sustainability of Research Infrastructures

The second volume of the ESFRI Scripta series is dedicated to\nthe outcomes of the ad hoc Working (WG) Group on Long-Term\nSustainability (LTS) of Research Infrastructures.\nThe LTS WG was created by ESFRI in 2016 to comprehensively respond\nto the Conclusions of the Competitiveness Council of the European\nUnion of 27th May 2016 that „underlines the importance of ensuring\nLong-Term Sustainability of Research Infrastructures and invites the\nCommission to prepare together with ESFRI and relevant stakeholders a\ntargeted action plan“.\nESFRI has previously developed its concept of lifecycle of the Research\nInfrastructures in the framework of the Roadmap evaluation exercise,\nand at all stages of the lifecycle different aspects of sustainability were\nidentified. The LTS WG has analysed the Long-Term Sustainability\nof Research Infrastructures from a broad perspective taking the\nESFRI viewpoint well beyond the mere economical analysis. Scientific\nexcellence is the condition sine qua non for sustainability throughout\nthe entire RI lifecycle, and its persistence is crucial in the long-term\noperational phase. Excellence in science and outstanding quality services\nto the users are imperative for the successful performance of each\nResearch Infrastructure, and they are addressed in the monitoring and\nreviewing processes by ESFRI.
Alternative Formulation of Pay-as-clear Auction in Electricity Markets

In widely used formulation of pay-as-clear electricity market the clearing price is given by the Lagrange multiplier of the demand sat- isfaction constraint in the problem of the Independent System Operator (ISO). Following this idea, one may usually calculate the market clearing\nprice analytically even for problems of higher dimensions. However, the economic interpretation of such a market setting is in question, since the minimized criterion does not correspond neither to the cost of production nor to the overall payment of consumers. This observation motivated us\nto propose an alternative clearing mechanism where the total payment of consumers is explicitly minimized. We show existence and uniqueness of the clearing price in such a setting.

Geomorfologická analýza vybraných jevů v oblasti podél regionálně významného systému třebíčského zlomu a jeho východního a možného jihovýchodního pokračování mezi Třebíčí, Náměští nad Oslavou a vodní nádrží Dalešice – topografické uspořádání, sklonitost povrchu, lineamenty v reliéfu, výskyty a pozice fluviálních sedimentů. Studie byla zpracována na požadavek české energetické společnosti ČEZ, a.s. v souvislosti s hodnocením seismického rizika významných tektonických struktur v blízkosti jaderných výrobních zařízení.

Předmětem výzkumné zprávy je identifikace a detailní popis optimálních podmínek produkce sinice Nostoc v přirozeném mikrobiálním konsorciu. Dále byla pro účely ověření molekulární identifikace genetického mechanismu produkce vybraného sekundárního metabolitu provedena axenizace sinice Nostoc.
