The methodology for bit-level preservation of digital data
Růžička, M. ; Miranda, Andrea ; Hejtmánek, L. ; Vašek, Zdeněk ; Krejčíř, V. ; Bartošek, M.
The aim of the digital data bit-level protection methodology is to provide recommendations for implementing Long Term Preservation (LTP) storage. The methodology provides guidance on how to address the problem of bit protection of digital data in the environment of Czech libraries on the basis of good practice in this area available in the Czech Republic and worldwide. At the same time, this methodology is connected to project ARCLib , which aim is to develop open source LTP system. For wide availability to the libraries of the Czech Republic and elsewhere, the whole recommendation is based on freely available technologies with open source text and licenses allowing further development and adaptation to the needs of the user.

Developing ARCLib - An Open-Source Solution for a Bit-Level and Logical Long-Term Preservation
Miranda, Andrea ; Hruška, Z.
This poster informs about the Czech ARCLib project. One of the main goals of the project is the development of an open-source solution for a bit-level and logical preservation of digital documents, respecting the national and international standards as well as the needs of all types of libraries in the Czech Republic. The mission of the ARCLib project lies, among others, in creating a solution that will allow institutions to implement all of the OAIS functional modules and entities, considering institutions' information model. The architecture is planned as open and modular and the final product will be able to ingest, validate and store data from a majority of software products used for creating, disseminating and archiving libraries' digital and digitised data in the Czech Republic.;

The methodology for logical preservation of digital data
Hutař, Jan ; Miranda, Andrea ; Pavlásková, Eliška ; Vašek, Z. ; Hruška, Z.
The Methodology for Logical Preservation of Digital Data presents procedures for long term digital preservation in open source software ARCLib. It focuses mainly on data from library collections. Its goal is to describe a life cycle of stored data, give a definition of preservation process, and propose procedures relevant for preservation of digital data. The Methodology specifies steps necessary for realization of the goal of long term digital preservation on logical level in compliance with recommended international standards ČSN ISO 14721 and ČSN ISO 16363. The Methodology is based on the standards and presents their use in concrete system for long term preservation. The methodology is divided into a general and a specific part, also defining a procedure for self-audit.

Data deposit into the ASEP repository
Chmelařová, Zdeňka ; Doleželová, Jana
The ASEP repository has provided bibliographic records deposit for the results of scientific research at the Czech Academy of Sciences since 1993. In 2012, the database was expanded to include a repository in which full text documents are stored. Since 2017, ASEP also supports data records and data file storage. The bibliographic records of the results can be linked to metadata records so that the user gets not only the full text of a result, but also the data on which the result is based. Each dataset has its own description and metadata follows international standards. In the paper, we will introduce the repository workflow, describe dataset deposit and international standards used as well as different types of user interfaces.
