Studium exprese a toxicity derivátů katecholu v prsních nádorových buněčných liniích, Tereza Vyoralová ABSTRAKT Univerzita Karlova Farmaceutická fakulta v Hradci Králové Katedra farmakologie a toxikologie Studentka: Tereza Vyoralová Školitel: PharmDr. Alejandro Carazo Ph.D. Název diplomové práce: Studium exprese a toxicity derivátů katecholu v prsních nádorových buněčných liniích Estrogeny v lidském organismu mají několik důležitých funkcí, mimo jiné hrají významnou roli při vzniku a rozvoji karcinomu prsu. Své účinky uplatňují vazbou na estrogenní receptory (ER) a vykazují komplexní spektrum účinků, například regulace reprodukce, menstruačního cyklu, funkce mozku, kostní denzity či mobilizace cholesterolu. Navíc přítomnost a množství ER v prsním karcinomu je v současnosti využíváno jako jeden z nejdůležitějších prediktivních biomarkerů u pacientů trpících tímto onemocněním. Výskyt a aktivita ER koreluje s léčebnou odpovědí karcinomu prsu na hormonální léčbu a s pacientovou prognózou. Navzdory intenzivnímu výzkumu je karcinom prsu stále řazen mezi nádory s nejvyšší letalitou. Katecholy jsou organické sloučeniny, které se vyskytují v potravě jako polutanty, ale i v lidském organismu, kde hrají důležitou roli jako prekurzory neurotransmiterů. These effects are mediated by binding to estrogen receptors (ER) and show complex spectrum of effects such as regulation of reproduction, menstrual cycle, brain function, bone density or mobilization of cholesterol. In addition the presence and quantification of ER in breast cancer is currently used as one of the most important predictive biomarkers in patients suffering from this disease. The occurence and activity of ER correlates with the response of breast cancer to hormonal treatment and with the patient's prognosis. Despite intensive research, breast cancer is still ranked among the cancers with the highest lethality.
