Patricie Kubáčková Abstrakt Reflexe přechodové zkušenosti první české přistěhovalecké generace v USA se zvláštním zaměřením na jazyk V disertační práci se zaměřuji na to, jak příslušníci první generace českých přistěhovalců do USA reflektovali v autobiografických narativních rozhovorech svou životní zkušenost emigrace a snahy o adaptaci v nové zemi, v níž se usadili a kde začali nový život. V reflexi emigrace nezohledňovali pouze svoji situaci, nýbrž přihlíželi také k budoucnosti svých potomků. Scelujícím tématem se ukázal motiv cizince, který v nové zemi začíná nový život, přičemž jeho původ zůstane znatelný i po dlouhé době. Sociální čitelnost původu je analyzována na cizím přízvuku a na různých asimilačních strategiích, které se týkají jmen přistěhovalců. První přistěhovaleckou generaci chápu jako generaci přechodovou. Zaměřuji se na to, jak příslušníci této generace reflektovali ve vyprávění svou jazykovou odlišnost, zda ji pociťovali jako diskreditující nebo stigmatizující a za jakých okolností atp. Ve shromážděném a analyzovaném materiálu jsem navíc sledovala postoj respondentů k uchování mateřského jazyka a k jeho předávání potomkům. V práci se zabývám také tím, jak respondenti reflektovali svou bilingvní situaci. Na konkrétních promluvách ukazuji, jak byl mateřský jazyk respondentů ovlivněn... Patricie Kubáčková Transitional experience as reflected by the first Czech immigrant generation in the USA with a special focus on language This dissertation is focused on how the members of the first generation of the Czech immigrants in the USA reflected in the autobiographical narrative interviews their life experience of emigration and their effort on adaptation in the new country where they settled down and started their new life. In the reflection of the emigration they considered not only their situation but the future of their offspring too. As a unifying topic the motive of an stranger was determined. The strangers begin their new life in the new country, however, their origin remains detectable even after long time. This social legibility of their origin is analysed in the non-native accent and on different assimilative strategies concerning the names of the immigrants. I understand the first immigrant generation as a transitional generation. I focus on how the members of this generation reflected their language dissimilarity in their narrations if they experienced it as discredited or as a stigma and under what circumstances.
