Tato teoreticko-empirická práce se zabývá porovnáním teorie a praxe v rámci tlumočení pro policii. Práce má dva cíle: stanovit, nakolik jsou soudní tlumočníci v České republice obeznámeni s teoretickými principy a pravidly soudního tlumočení, a dále zjistit, v jaké míře se tyto teoretické znalosti promítají do praxe. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na odbornou literaturu a etické kodexy, které se týkají právě soudního tlumočení. Kromě analýzy a důkladného porovnání českých i zahraničních etických kodexů představuje teoretická část i odborné publikace a výzkumy, které byly v rámci soudního tlumočení provedeny. V této části je důraz kladen na tlumočníkovu roli, která je pro výkon profese soudního tlumočníka naprosto zásadní, a přesto v její definici panují velké nejasnosti. Empirická část má podobu kvalitativně-kvantitativní studie. Účastníky dvou dotazníkových šetření byli soudní tlumočníci a policisté působící v České republice. U tlumočníků bylo cílem ověřit, zda a do jaké míry jsou obeznámeni s teoretickými principy své profese a jestli se tyto poznatky překrývají s praxí. Pro tuto část byly v rámci dotazníku použity především modelové situace s otevřenými otázkami, které byly doplněny o uzavřené otázky s odpověďmi na principu Lickertovy škály. Dotazník pro policisty byl koncipován jako soubor... This theoretical-empirical thesis compares police interpreting theory with its practice. It has two aims: to establish to what degree court interpreters in the Czech Republic are aware of the theoretical principles and rules of court interpreting, and to determine how this theoretical knowledge is reflected in practice. The theoretical part of the thesis reviews specialised literature and ethical codes that concern court interpreting. Aside from an analysis and a thorough comparison of Czech and foreign ethical codes, this part of the thesis also presents scholarly works and research conducted in the field of court interpreting. The main focus is the role of the interpreter, which is crucial for the work of court interpreters but its definition it not always clear. The empirical part of the thesis takes the form of a qualitative-quantitative study. Two questionnaires were distributed to court interpreters and police officers in the Czech Republic. The questionnaire for interpreters aimed to verify whether, and to what degree, they are familiar with the theoretical principles of their profession and whether these principles apply in practice.
