V teoretické části se zaměřuje na samotné LDN, na jejich postavení v systému péče, historii jejich vzniku a jejich stereotypizaci ve společnosti. Dále pojednává o somatických, psychických i sociálních změnách spojených se stárnutím a nakonec se věnuje pojmu adaptace, a faktorům, které ji ovlivňují, se zaměřením na adaptaci starého člověka na podmínky zařízení dlouhodobé péče. Výzkum byl proveden metodou semistrukturovaného rozhovoru se třemi respondenty, kteří v LDN nebyli nikdy dříve hospitalizovaní. Individuální zkušenosti respondentů s plánovaným překladem do LDN byly zpracovány metodou interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy (IPA). The goal of the theoretical part is to present LDN, their position in the health care system, history of their origin and also their stereotype in society. The thesis also deals with somatic, psychological and social changes associated with aging. Finally, it discusses the concept of adaptation and the factors that affect it, focusing on the adaptation of seniors to the conditions in long-term care facilities.
