Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na sociální souvislosti hospitalizace neslyšících pacientů. Jejím cílem je popsat zkušenosti neslyšících pacientů s hospitalizací v nemocnici. Práce se zaměřuje především na oblast komunikace, práv pacientů, informovanosti, přizpůsobení prostředí a konceptu Deaf Friendly Hospital. Data byla získávána prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Přínosem této práce je pohled na hospitalizaci v nemocnici očima samotných neslyšících, nikoli zdravotnického personálu. Výsledky výzkumu poukázaly na nedostatky zdravotnických zařízení a jejich personálu v oblasti přístupu k neslyšícím pacientům. Klíčová slova: neslyšící, komunikace s neslyšícím, neslyšící pacient, práva pacientů, hospitalizace neslyšících. This thesis focuses on the social context of deaf patients' hospitalization. Its aim is to describe the experiences of deaf patients with hospitalization. The thesis focuses primarily on communication, patient rights, awareness, adaptation of deaf patients to the environment and the concept of Deaf Friendly Hospital. The data were obtained by way of semi-structured interviews. The benefit of this thesis is that the hospitalization is described from the deaf patients view not from the medical staff one. The research results pointed to shortcomings in healthcare facilities and in access of their staff to deaf patients.
